[RMT] Sand Storm Team

Team Katar

Please Note that 4 mons are inmune to toxic spikes and not a single member has big issues with SR. I tried to balance more the types.

Tyranitar (M) @ Babiri Berry Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 56 Atk / 252 SAtk / 200 Spd
Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Superpower
- Crunch
- Flamethrower
- Ice Beam

SS Generator. Im using SS for doing damage and as a "AntiWeather" so I dont really need that much a bulky slow Ttar. Superpower can 1HKO Blissey and Ice beam can 1HKO Gliscor. Cruch is for checking shandera and lati@s. Flamethrower can 80% damage a steel tank and 1HK0 any type of Scizor due to Babiri Berry (I chose its over Fireblast because thats all I need to kill Scizor).

Sinergy: Gliscor, Reuniclus (Fighter). Ferrothorn (Water). Ferrothorn (Grass). Gliscor (Earth).

Scizor (M) @ Choice Band
Trait: Technician
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- U-turn
- Superpower
- Bullet Punch
- Pursuit

Standard Scizor, not much to say about him. I chose CB Scizor over Scarfer Because its more of a sweeper than anything else. Due to low speed, I prefer it over SD Scizor.

Sinergy: Garchomp (Fire).

Reuniclus (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Psyshock
- Recover
- Focus Blast

Great mon. Very Bulky and with good SAtk. Recover and Magic Guard lets me outstall lots of mons. I choose Psyshock because It lets me KO mons with big CM as well as Blissey. Focus Blast is prefered over HP fighting so I can 1HKO Ttar.

Sinergy: Scizor (Bug). Scizor, Ferrothorn (Dark). Scizor, Ferrothorn (Ghost).

Garchomp (M) @ Yache Berry
Trait: Sand Veil
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Fire Fang
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Swords Dance

Main Sweeper of my party. I prefered it over Excadrill because SD+Fire Fang can destroy steel walls. EQ is for STAB without getting locked like Outrage. Outrage is used when all opossing steel pokes are dead.

Sinergy: Scizor, Ferrothorn (Ice).

472.gif

Gliscor (M) @ Toxic Orb
Trait: Poison Heal
EVs: 252 HP / 40 Atk / 144 Def / 72 Spd
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Taunt
- Earthquake
- Fling
- Acrobatics

One of the two main walls. Main Stallbreaker due to Taunt. EQ and Acrobatics are very good STAB attacks for this mon. Fling lets me poison opposing mons as well as increas Acrobatics power.

Sinergy: Scizor, Ferrothorn (Ice). Ferrothorn (Water).

Ferrothorn (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 48 Def / 208 SDef
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Stealth Rock
- Leech Seed
- Thunder Wave
- Power Whip

Second wall of the team. SR is there because its the best move of the game, Leech Seed for stalling, Thunder Wave to Cripple opposing sweepers and Power Whipe because of STAB.

Synergia: Gliscor, Reuniclus (Fighter). Tyranitar, Garchomp (Fire).

It's a shame this didn't get more attention. This is a really good offensive team, but you're pretty weak to stall and bulky teams in general. SkarmBliss will straight up wall 5/6th of your team, and only Tyranitar is able to do anything to the two of them. Your issues with stall can be remedied trying out Swords Dance + Taunt Gliscor instead of the Acrobatics variant you're currently using. With Swords Dance / Taunt / Earthquake / Ice Fang as its attacks, Gliscor will provide you with the same physical walling while also breaking down stall, since phazers like Skarmory cannot Whirlwind or heal due to Taunt. It's a pretty nice wallbreaking partner that would pair well with your physical Pokemon, since SD Gliscor can usually beat Skarmory one on one thanks to its huge defenses and Taunt. If you do this, you should probably shift the 40 Attack EVs into Defense, since this will help setting up and the little investment in Attack doesn't really matter when you're boosting it with Swords Dance.

Tyranitar absolutely needs Stealth Rock, especially on such an offensive team like this where the residual damage is often going to win you games entirely. I would use Stealth Rock over Superpower on Tyranitar, since Superpower doesn't grant you all that much additional coverage. I also suggest you try a more defensive spread of 252 HP / 176 SpA / 80 SpD with a Brave nature and Leftovers because you definitely don't require all that Speed, especially since most Gliscor are designed to outpace max Speed Tyranitar. On another minor note, I recommend you try Surf over Grass Knot on Latios because you still maintain the 2HKO on Tyranitar with Stealth Rock and since Water is a much better offensive typing than Grass, allowing you to hit many notable Pokemon like Heatran very hard.

Your team is really offensive so naturally you're weak to certain Pokemon, but your team is especially vulnerable because it's relatively slow. Nasty Plot Thundurus for example can outpace and OHKO every single member on your team after a Nasty Plot, and it doesn't even need a boost to beat the majority of it. Although it is you main sweeper, you might really want to consider Life Orb Swords Dance Excadrill in place of Garchomp because its huge Speed in the sand could really help you cover fast threats that you're weak to, such as Thundurus and Starmie. This opens you up a bit more to Drizzle teams due to its additional Water weakness, but a bulkier Tyranitar should help you a lot with keeping sand up. It's not really a crucial change since offensive teams need momentum more than they need to be able to counter everything, but it's just something to consider.

Haven't seen a SS team without Excadrill in a while.. First off, I suggest switching Pursuit on Scizor to Roost or SD. Most of the Lati's carry HP Fire, which will wreck you. secondly, you need to find an answer to life orb Starmie.

I tried all the suggestions above, some didnt work for me, some did, let me explain:

-First of all, Iconic is right, Im gettin owned by stall teams. I tryed a offensive gliscor, but I cant Kill skarmory with it :pirate:.

-On the other hand, I put SR on Ttar, I needed it.

-I changed latios to Surf instead of grass knot, it works better.

Now, talking about evans suggestion, wouldnt it be better to run a scarf set on scizor? So I outspeed Latias and own it with U turn. I dont get how making a life or set would make it last more.

Now, Im very concerned about the threats that oth of you gentlemen exposed. This is mainly cause I got a thunderus sweepXD.

Tyranitar should be your counter for latias/latios. it would do just fine. just in my opinion, i dont think scizor should be limited to just handling those pokes. you could invest some evs in spec def if you wanted to. that would make it really bulky and would maybe be able to take a hit from the latis.

hi fake sketch,

stall teams do look like a problem, skarmory+blissey in general can do a number on this team. this is just two pokemon of course, this can possibly include more members to wall you further. my first suggestion is going to have to be a swords dance scizor over cb and this is one of the most prominent threat to both stall and offensive. the moveset is swords dance / bug bite / bullet punch / superpower with the evs 232 hp / 252 atk / 20 spe with the item life orb. yes, get as offensive as possible for damaging purposes. +2 superpower, leaves skarmory in difficulty of setting up but left in a very tight position while it assumes you don't have superpower. 20 spe for outpacing other scizor by the way. setting up swords dance looks really easy with suicune luring in nattorei - a common pokemon scizor sets up on easily.

as for other options, taunt > protect to prevent more easy set ups from opposing teams on gliscor. if you're hellbent on checking latias and latios, just forget that speed on tyranitar because it seems irrelevant because glicor is rarely a problem with your current team. go for a simple 252 hp / 188 atk / 68 spa with the moveset flamethrower / crunch / stealth rock / superpower with the nature brave. maintain a solid defense on both ends while dishing out solid damage with the given spread. if you're afraid of thundurus and garchomp is not enough, then go for chople berry > leftovers on tyranitar. its my personal favorite thundurus check. overall gl!

Bump: I replaced some pokes and did the whole RMT again. This RMT has sinergys, threat list and is more appealing than the last one. Choices were a bit obvious so I shortened the descriptions.
