Skarmory @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 224 HP / 32 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Spikes
- Roost
- Whirlwind
- Brave Bird
physical wall and spikes user. Skarmory has always been a good wall to use in sandstorm IMO and I like him a lot. special defense EVs since I'm not carrying a dedicated special wall
Excadrill @ Air Balloon
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- Swords Dance
Excadrill and sand storm go hand in hand. He is a powerful ground type and the best rapid spinner out there. I currently only have one with mold breaker but I might make one with sand rush in the future. Mold breaker allows him to take out gengar and rotom on the switch with earthquake though
Tyranitar@smooth rock
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 speed
Calm Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Stone Edge
- Crunch
- Earthquake
I know the nature and EVs arent perfect but I got this thing in a trade with 4 perfect IVs so I didnt wanna risk going for a different nature and getting crappy IVs. stelath rock is there so I got it covered on my team. Smooth rock of course to keep the sand up as long as possible and then the typical attacks to do a lot of damage. Aqua tail and fire punch arent available yet so earthquake is the best choice
Alakazam @ Life Orb
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Psyshock
- Focus Blast
- Shadow Ball
- Dazzling Gleam
the team needed a strong special attacker and alakazam was the best choice IMO. life orb for max damage without recoil and magic guard makes him immune to sand. HP fire or ice may be better than dazzling gleam but it got nerfed this gen and I dont like trying to get the right type
Galvantula @ Focus Sash
Ability: Compound Eyes
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature (+Spe, -Atk)
- Sticky Web
- Thunder
- Bug Buzz
- Volt Switch
an awkward choice for a sandstorm team but let me explain. This team doesnt have much speed besides alakazam and my last team member so galvantula supports this team with sticky web as my lead. focus sash so he always gets the web out and then hits hard with STAB thunder and bug buzz. Volt switch to bring out a sweeper after sticky web is out.
Garchomp @ Garchompite
Ability: Sand Force
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- outrage
- Stone Edge
my mega pokemon and best sand abuser. This guy works as a mid-late game sweeper once his checks and counters are down or weakened. This guy is the reason I put galvantula on my team. Since mega garchomp gains bulk but loses speed I decided sticky web would make up for the speed loss of the mega. Ideally sandstorm will be up when he comes out to get the sand force boost. Kind of torn right now between iron head and stone edge
