RMT - Sandstorming Supreme

Hey, well Iv been using this team for a while with a lot of success and wanted to get the smogon communities view on it.

I have always been a fan of sandstorm teams, and now with the boost to special defence for rock types there has never been a better reason to use one :P

Godzilla (Tyranitar) @ Leftovers
Sand Stream
Jolly
252 HP/100 Attack/50 Defence/108 Speed
Substitute/Dragon Dance/Focus Punch/Crunch

Lead Tar is extremely good in the metagame at the moment, and is essential to my team for setting up sandstream. Tar is, in my opinion, infinately better than hippowdon. The set is my own, the surprise-tar (s-tar) sub to block status and allow focus punch to work. Dragon Dance to boost attack and speed and crunch for stab. The evs allow for 101 substitutes so I can easily set up on Blissey.

The Star

Rachi Loves Pie (Jirachi) @ Leftovers
Serene Grace
Timid
252 HP/176 Speed/80 Special Attack
Substitute/Calm Mind/Thunderbolt/Psychic

Sub/CM rachi is a beast, and my check to so many pokemon. 252HP allows for 101 subs to set up on blissey. Tbolt checks gyrados nicely, as a +1 Earthquake will never kill even with stealth rock. Psychic for STAB, and although people say its coverage is limited the OHKO on Gengar, Breloom, Machamp and Infernape can be crucial. Name is a take on my user name Gregers_Likes_Pie.

The Revenge Killer

(BAN ME PLEASE) (Heatran) Female @ Choice Scarf
Flash Fire
Modest
40 HP/216 Speed/252 Special Attack
Fire Blast/Earth Power/HP Electric/Dragon Pulse

Fairly standard scarftran, well as the saying goes if it ain't broke then don't fix it! Fire Blast and Earth Power are obvious, HP Electric for hitting waters on the switch in. Dragon Pulse for hitting salamance and latias on the switch as well. Basic revenge killer, also a very good rotom/jirachi (especially with trick) counter.

The Glue

Gliscor_by_vitzzz.jpg

Devil Child (Gliscor) Male @ Leftovers
Sand Veil
Impish
252 HP/4 Attack/252 Defence
Earthquake/Ice Fang/Stealth Rock/Roost

One of my favourite pokemon (Gligar) finally got an evolution which is viable in OU! Moveset is fairly standard, but in my defence this is the exact Gliscor that Iv got on my platinum card which was before I started playing shoddy! EQ for STAB and ice fang for coverage, Stealth Rock as it is quite probably the best move in the game at the moment. Roost to tank hits. Gliscor is actually a better physical wall than a lot of people give it credit for, and provides an ok mence check surviving pretty much everything except draco meteor.

Exo Killer (Scizor) Male @ Life Orb
Adamant
Technician
232 HP/252 Attack/24 Defence
Bullet Punch/Swords Dance/X-Scissor/Roost

There is a reason that Scizor is the most OU pokemon atm, it just works and does what it needs to. I personally prefer Life Orb due to being able to roost of damage for extra killing time! Bullet Punch for... oh come on everyone knows why this is here! Swords Dance and Roost for power and healing, and X-Scissor for secondary STAB (This team is pre-HGSS so this will be replaced by Bug Bite when I update my team). Scissor acts as a check to so many pokemon, and can actually take hits fairly well (choiced latias/mence etc.)

The Epic Wall of Frustration

Uber Shuck (Shuckle) Female @ Leftovers
Gluttony
Impish
252 HP/208 Defence/48 Special Defence
Knock Off/Toxic/Encore/Rest

Shuckle for UBERS! Under Sandstorm this thing is a beast! Yes the moveset is obvious, yes it gets screwed over by taunt, yes stealth rock is a bitch but try and kill it then... it can happily stall out many threats annoy scizor switch ins with knock off. Put in its headphones and go to sleep and then do it all over again! Best ever moment in a game is when breloom switches into knock off and loses its toxic orb! And there is something incredibly fun about beating a noob with shuckle, seriously why is this little guy not ou?

Well there you are.

Any and all comments welcome...

Hey there, nice SS team you've got here. I've got a question, what do your Gliscor Ev's accomplish? It's got 0 speed Ev's so it won't be outspeeding anything. Try this set out. This is a Gliscor EV set from Maci 12's Team Casablanca RMT. 196 HP / 88 Atk / 224 Speed. This gets a 2HKO on Metagrosses and outspeeds base 90 pokes only with Jolly nature. Or you could go with the standard set from the dex. 252 HP / 40 Def / 216 Speed. Fast, and Bulky.

Hey there! I have a few ideas that can help out your team greatly.

To start, I suggest you swap Gliscor and Tyranitar with each other, Gliscor now being used as a lead. I'll explain why Tyranitar shouldn't be used as a lead later, when I'm giving it a new set.

The Gliscor lead set looks something like this:

Gliscor @ Leftovers | Sand Veil
252 HP / 40 Atk / 216 Spe | Jolly nature
~Stealth Rock
~Earthquake
~Roost
~U-turn / Taunt

This set is pretty simple yet very effective. Gliscor's great bulk and Speed helps it successfully set up Stealth Rock, and can be used later on in the game to deal with physical threats like Lucario. The last slot is up to you really. You can use U-turn as a good scouting move, and is your best bet against Azelf, while Taunt can potentially stop slower leads from setting up, and can also help later in the game against the likes of Skarmory.

Onto Tyranitar, I recommend you change its set to a Choice Bander. The reason is because Choice Band Tyranitar can easily obliterate many of Scizor's common switch-ins, such as Heatran and Rotom. That way, when those threats are gone, Scizor has a much easier time to sweep. Also, there are several reasons why your current Tyranitar lead set is sort of bad. Dragon Dancing early-game is really not that smart, since your opponent will obviously have checks/counters right away. Your also taking up an entire moveslot to use Substitute, when it can use another coverage move to help it sweep easier. Lastly, Focus Punch and Dragon Dance are normally never seen together, since it will be extremely difficult to actually pull this kind of thing off. Anyway, the Choice Band set:

Tyranitar @ Choice Band | Sand Stream
164 HP / 252 Atk / 92 Spe | Adamant
~Stone Edge
~Crunch
~Pursuit
~Earthquake

I just want to make a slight adjustment to your Scizor and Heatran. For Scizor, I suggest you change X-Scissor on it to Brick Break. That way, you're not completely walled by Skarmory, and you also have a shot at destroying an incoming Heatran. It also provides great coverage in tandem with Bullet Punch. Also, try an EV spread of 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 Spe, it's better than the one you are currently using. On Heatran, try using max Speed and a Timid nature to tie with other Scarfed Heatran, as they are getting more common.

Big change with Shuckle. I'd like you to change the Pokemon completely. Your team as a whole seems extremely Gyarados/Infernape weak, so I recommend using a Pokemon that can deal with those bad boys. Vaporeon is an excellent option, since it generally comes out on top of both of those. Also, it can provide Wish support to your whole team, which many of your Pokemon will appreciate. Finally, with all of your Pokemon taking damage from Water-type attacks, Vaporeon can absorb them for 25% HP, as well as shrugging off Ice-type attacks aimed at Gliscor. The set:

Vaporeon @ Leftovers | Water Absorb
188 HP / 252 Def / 68 Spe | Bold
~Wish
~Protect
~Surf
~Hidden Power Electric

Hope I helped, and good luck with your team!

Hello Gregers_Likes_Pie, Dragon Dance Tyranitar is a rather odd lead. I do not suggest it as you lose bulk to combat other leads making you susceptible to many Pokemon. To change this I think a Lum Berry lead would help quite well. With this change your able to take on a vast majority of leads and set up Stealth Rock reliably.

Tyranitar @ Lum Berry | Sand Stream
Adamant | 252 HP / 4 Atk / 240 SpD / 12 Spe
Stone Edge / Pursuit / Earthquake or Superpower / Stealth Rock

Tyranitar sets up the sandstorm as well as Stealth Rock which is a rather much needed entry hazard to help your team wear down common threats such as Salamence and Gyarados. Superpower versus Earthquake is rather up to preference. Superpower allows you to OHKO slower Tyranitar leads as well as leave a dent in Heatran but since it lowers your Defense and Attack stat it makes you rather vulnerable to OHKOs. Earthquake does not OHKO Shuca Berry Heatran or Tyranitar but provides consistent damage as well as good type coverage with Stone Edge.

Your team has a rather big weakness to Gyarados as well as Salamence due to the fact no one likes to switch in save Jirachi. So with that in mind I think utilizing Jirachi as a Choice Scarf revenge killer would be beneficial for your team.

Jirachi @ Choice Scarf | Serene Grace
Jolly | 252 Atk / 4 HP / 252 Spe
Iron Head / Fire Punch / Ice Punch / ThunderPunch

With a Choice Scarf set you counter a multitude of threats, Gyarados, Salamence, Tyranitar, Lucario, and many more. Iron Head is also beneficial at taking down Latias in case it runs Hidden Power Fire (which is becoming more common) to take down Scizor. With Tyranitar as you lead spot its vulnerable to attacks as well so I recommend it.

Replacing Heatran with Rotom might do some good in having a second counter to Scizor as well as Gyarados and helps quite a bit with Rotom too,

Rotom @ Leftovers | Levitate
Bold | 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 Spe
Thunderbolt / Shadow Ball / Will-O-Wisp / Rest

Now for Gliscor I recommend a Jolly nature with an EV spread of 252 HP / 32 Def / 224 Spe. With the moveset of Taunt / Earthquake / Toxic / Roost. This will help a bit with stall weakening physical walls such as Hippowdon, Rotom, and Swampert (as long as you catch it on the switch) with Toxic making it easier for Scizor to sweep.

As for Scizor running a few Speed EVs can help it taking out Skarmory and oppossing Scizor after an SD. I think moving those Defense EVs into Speed would help out and running a moveset Bullet Punch / Brick Break / Roost / Swords Dance with the item Leftovers would do quite well. With bulk, you'll be able to get a few Swords Dances in making it easier to sweep.

Shuckle seems to be rather just dead weight really. I think Latias would do quite well here taking on Infernape and Rotom and adding a second check to Salamence as well as +0 Gyarados.

Latias @ Life Orb | Levitate
Timid | 252 SpA / 4 HP / 252 Spe
Draco Meteor / Surf / Thunderbolt / Roost

Latias's Draco Meteor hits rather hard and with the your other Pokemon being able to take down Tyranitar and Scizor, 2 of the most common counters, Latias will often find a chance to sweep.

Hope I helped!
