SS OU RMT: Semi-Stall Sand Sweep

sand is fun. yep. i made this team by getting inspired by a lot of players i play against, and kind of just copying their sets while adjusting to counter big threats. (dvish, togekiss, cloyster) all of those cant really do much here.

1st mon:
Mew @ Leftovers
Ability: Synchronize
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Block
- Soft-Boiled
- Imprison
- Transform
a lot of people abuse this incredibly situational set, but i like it because it contributes to the stall part of this team. simply use block, imprison, then transform, and the opponent can do nothing but spam click struggle. this is easily predictable since this is kind of your lead. people will throw out something that has a type advantage. unless you see your opponent has an obvious lead that you think will be easy to live some hits through, i strongly recommend throwing this out 1st.

2nd mon:
Tyranitar @ Smooth Rock
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Crunch
- Earthquake
- Toxic
- Rock Slide
this is mainly the sand setter for a mon we'll get to later. i went with toxic over dragon dance because this isnt really supposed to kill. i did put some actual moves on it so it could kill whoever it was switched against. my only problem with this thing is it isn't tanky enough against certain mons. any fighting type move will pretty much 1 shot, so unless you plan with going straight to the next pokemon, i think you should watch out for zeraora...

3rd mon:
Excadrill @ Focus Sash
Ability: Sand Rush
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Iron Head
- Rapid Spin
- Swords Dance
ive found this to be an insanely fun mon to sweep with, and a lot of others are seeing this little moles potential. he can easily set up a swords dance and wipe out your whole team. better yet, they added a movement speed buff to rapid spin, so now he can clear hazards and commit murder afterward. the only issue is getting hit by stealth rock, which usually isnt a problem if you know how to predict setups. (e.g. a pokemon like hydreigon going for nasty plot)

4th mon:
Seismitoad @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Def / 252 SpD
Relaxed Nature
- Earth Power
- Scald
- Stealth Rock
- Knock Off
ah yes, the classic anti vish. he can also be a surprisingly good switch in to zerora, thanks to his 2nd typing, ground. he can also be a secondary lead to set up rocks, or just set them up mid game to counteract spamming switch. a lot of people underestimate this things power, so it can kill as well.

5th mon:
Clefable @ Leftovers
Ability: Unaware
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Wish
- Protect
- Aromatherapy
- Moonblast
also classic stall. though this mainly for clearing status on mew and some other mons. wish protect has been meta for years now and it isnt going away anytime soon. moonblast is also an anti dpult and hydreigon.

6th mon:
Toxapex @ Black Sludge
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Recover
- Scald
- Haze
- Baneful Bunker
oh yeah, the stall legend him/herself, toxic pecs. it can either burn you with scald for less attack, or poison you with baneful bunker and stall you out. this is also a really good defensive option vs fighting types because of ttars weakness, you can just bait out a close combat or something. scald actually does decent damage against mons who are weak or normal to it. and haze is just the anti setup, which isnt very safe against zerora, but really really effective on cloyster.

threats: togekiss/rachi; absolutely stupid flinch mechanic can prevent mew and excadrill from setting up.
zerora; said lots of times, theres not much we can do against this absolute monster.
ghost moves: i dont have many good switch ins against it. i guess clefable can tank some of it but thats it.
mons somehow faster than excadrill: i dont know what kind of percs you had your zerora take...
rocks/spikes: toxic spikes are fine, just send in pex. but rocks can waste my focus sash on excadrill.
