RMT some OU team

So this is a new team I've been working around, to use a lead mamoswine. This is the product of it. Also, since people keep asking what the point of my teams are, they are offensive teams, although this might be a bit more on the bulky side, dunno. Anyways here it is:

Mamoswine (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Snow Cloak
EVs: 6 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Stealth Rock
- Ice Shard
Lead mamoswine is one of the best counter-suicide-suicide leads. With its high attack, it can take out lead metagross with EQ (since the LO is there), and ice shard can dent azelf and aerodactyl. So lay up rocks, then the LO assures its usefullness outside of being a lead if I want to keep it. Stone edge is for gyara, Ice shard is for the priority STAB, EQ for main STAB.

rotomheat.png

Rotom-h @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP/168 Def/88 Spd
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Discharge
- Shadow Ball
- Will-o-wisp
- Overheat
Rotom-h is the perfect candidate for a physical wall. Stopping scizor is always a priority, and this can do it well. It also takes fighting moves and ground moves for the rest of the team very well. Discharge is for the extra hopes at para-hax, Shadow Ball gives a handy STAB, wisp for burning sweepers, and Overheat for grass pokes and scizor.

infernape.png

Infernape (M) @ Choice Band
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 6 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Close Combat
- Mach Punch
- Flare Blitz
- Stone Edge/U-Turn
As I was looking through, I needed another physical sweeper, and ape sounded like a good candidate. I didn't like the idea of SD ape, and CB ape has been shaping really well. So CC is for obvious STAB, Flare Blitz is for a strong fire STAB, mach punch is very handy priority, and gives checks to such things as scarf heatran, lucario, DDT-tar. The last slot is torn a bit. Stone Edge provides a check for fliers, while U-Turn provides scouting. I usually have stone edge on, but I don't use it, so dunno.

tentacruel.png

Tentacruel (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Liquid Ooze
EVs: 252 HP/122 Def/136 SDef
Calm nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Toxic Spikes
- Surf
- Sludge Bomb
- Rapid Spin
Tentacruel is just the bulky water I need. You can never go wrong with toxic spikes, they always help, even outside of stall. Tenta also provides with great spin support, as rocks hurt, even though I only have one weakness to them. So surf for the much needed STAB, and sludge bomb provides a decent secondary STAB. It provides me with a much needed fire and water resists.

zapdos.png

Zapdos @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 80 HP/176 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Thunderbolt
- U-turn
- Heat Wave
- Hidden Power [Grass]
My revenge killer, Zapdos. If rotom is dead, this is my best check for gyarados, and provides a nice STAB to kill off bulky waters. Heat wave is for steel types and grasses, HP Grass provides me with a check for swampert that I so need, and can hurt T-tar for a bit more if I'm forced to stay in. U-Turn provides excellent scouting, especially for looking for latias.

metagross.png

Metagross @ Life Orb
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 112 HP/252 Atk/12 Def/132 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Rock Polish
- Meteor Mash
- Ice Punch
Since no team is complete without a steel type, here is mine. Agiligross is one of those things that is good but has been lost since the advent of its suicide lead. Since rock polish is so much better than agility, its the obvious choice. With that much speed, it can outspeed a naive heatran, and kill it off with an EQ. Meteor mash is for STAB, in hopes that I might get an attack boost. Ice punch is for the reason I have this, to counter those pesky dragons that get stuck on outrage.

So that is my new team, hope you all like it. So rate away.

Hello.

I don't really find Adamant Life Orb lead Mamo to be effective as Jolly Life Orb or Adamant Focus Sash. With Adamant and no Focus Sash you won't be outspeeding the standard Heatran lead which will just outspeed and OHKO you with Fire Blast and your at an immediate disadvantage. I would much rather use Jolly Life Orb Mamo since you have a solid switch into Metagross (Rotom h) and you can simply spin away rocks later with Tentacruel. Mamoswine will easily OHKO Heatran through the Shuca (not to mention it outspeeds) and can still work as a DDMence check late game.

My second suggestion is to replace Tentacruel. You have nothing that can switch into CBGyara (Tenta takes 35.71% - 42.03%, a 3HKO with rocks and you can't do anything back). Rotom is 2HKO'd by a Banded Waterfall with Stealth Rock down 100% of the time (48.68% - 57.57%) and Zapdos is OHKO'd with Stealth Rock down 79.49% of the time. Standard Starmie over Tentacruel works. Starmie and Tentacruel take around the same from a Banded Waterfall but Starmie can actually Recover off damage and threaten a KO with Thunderbolt.

Starmie @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP/40 Def/216 Spd
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Surf
- Thunderbolt
- Rapid Spin
- Recover

Last but not least, Metagross does not need Ice Punch. Outrage locked Salamence is taking 87.31% - 102.72% from a Life Orb Meteor Mash. Thunderpunch can hit bulky waters but Explosion and Zen Headbutt are options as well. Explosion kills off almost anything not immune and Zen Headbutt will hit the Rotom appliance for decent damage.

Good luck.

ok, but why the hell would anyone, ANYONE, be using CB gyara. Its simply inferior to the DD variant. If it waterfalls me anyways, its gonna switch, and i was considering HP elec, so it would work. And if i switch to starmie, i lose some sp def needs, so yea.

Alright then, i can see how those work on meta, sounds kinda like a good option.

I was considering jolly, dunno why I didn't use it, but ill test it i guess.

CBGyara packs more immediate power than DDGyara and doesn't have to waste a turn setting up. DDGyara does similar things to your team in any case.

Rotom takes 67.76% - 79.93% from a Dragon Danced Waterfall. You have no recovery other than Leftovers.

The only other "check" your team carries is Zapdos, who is Stealth Rock weak and cannot switch in on any of LO Gyara's attacks barring Earthquake.

No matter what way you look at it, it's a weakness. Replacing Tentacruel isn't the only option. You could make Rotom Restalk so it survives longer against opposing teams and makes a much better check against Gyarados.

I was considering rest-talk in the first place, but i liked that the standard set was more of a defensive tank. So yea, rest-talk could work.

So CB gyara is a similar case to CB scizor, just the thing is CB isnt common, so yea.
