Hi! Some days ago I was looking for some good OU cores, and I found a pretty interesting one featuring Specs Kyurem and Mega-Scizor. I decided to build a team around them because I think that Kyurem is one of the most underrated wallbreakers right now, and Mega-Scizor is one of my favourite mega evolutions. Right now I have 1600 points on the ladder, which is pretty big for me (yeah, I'm not that good). Also, please forgive me if my english is bad, it's not my native language but I will try my best.
TEAMBUILDING PROCESS
I started off with these two mons. They have great synergy, because Kyurem is able to destroy every bulky ground that usually likes to stop Scizor's sweep and some other annoying pokemons like Ferrothorn. In order to support this two pokemons I needed a defogger and a fire resistance, so i chose Latios.
Latios gets rid of hazards and also destroys everything that Kyurem cannot break. He also checks Keldeo and gives me a fire resistance.
At this point I noticed that my team was quite slow, and that I could use another fire resistance and a way to kill Chansey, so i chose Scarf Keldeo
After that, I needed an hazard setter, a way to check the Latis and pretty much something that could take some hits, so I chose Clef
Lastly, I added Rotom W in order to have some nice Volt-turn with Scizor. This gives many free switches to my wallbreakers.
All right, let's have and in-depth look of the team:
THE TEAM
Scizor-Mega @ Scizorite
Ability: Technician
EVs: 248 HP / 16 Atk / 44 Def / 200 SpD
Impish Nature
- Bullet Punch
- U-turn
- Swords Dance
- Roost
Standard bulky scizor set. I chose this over the more offensive variants because it provides a volt-turn core with rotom and because it's able to tank many hits. Also, with his bulk, Scizor can set up on a large number of pokemons and then sweep with BP.
Kyurem @ Choice Specs
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 30 SpA / 30 Spe
- Ice Beam
- Draco Meteor
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Earth Power
Kyurem is a pretty good pokemon. Ice is an amazing offensive type and Ice Beam is very spammable and deals heavy damage to a large part of the meta. Draco is here to nuke stuff, HP fire for Ferrothorn and Earth Power for Heatran, one of the best counters to Bulky Scizor.
Latios @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Surf
- Draco Meteor
- Roost
- Defog
Surf Latios is probably his best set right now. With this coverage, Latios is able to deal heavy damage to common switch-ins like Heatran and Ttar. I prefer the 3 attaks+roost set, but I needed a defogger.
He works very well with Kyurem because they lure and weaken the same mons.
Keldeo-Resolute @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Hydro Pump
- Secret Sword
- Icy Wind
I prefer his specs set, but Scarf Keldeo is also very good. He is faster than most scarfers, so he is able to revenge kill even stuff like ScarfDrill and Scarf Lando. He is also quite bulky and gives the team another fire resistance.
Clefable @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 172 Def / 84 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Stealth Rock
- Moonblast
- Thunder Wave
- Soft-Boiled
Clefable is one of the best pokemon in the meta and he can accomplish many roles. I chose this set because I needed a pokemon with stealth rock and also something that could be able to switch into draco meteor
Rotom-Wash @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 Spe
Bold Nature
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Will-O-Wisp
- Pain Split
Rotom's main role is to provide Volt-turn with Scizor in order to bring in my wallbreakers on a free switch. Also, he is able to tank many physical hits and can be very annoying for his ability to spread burns.
THREATS
The team has many flaws, but some mons are very difficult to face if my opponent plays correctly.
The most dangerous pokemons to my team are mega Diancie and Latios, both with Hp Fire, because the're able to beat 1vs1 basically every pokemon on my team. Also, stall is basically impossible to beat without a stallbreaker.
If you notice other big flaws don't esitate to write them in the comment section.
That's it. Again, sorry for the bad english. I hope you enjoyed this RMT!
