RMT: Spinning Propeller

Hey, guys.
This is my first RMT thread and it is pretty much my first non-stall team.
I decided to go quite offensively (well I tried) this time.
Please give me advice/help/comments if you can and I don't mind the harsh criticism as long as it is not meant to be offensive. Thanks again!

Jirachi @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Serene Grace
Nature: Jolly
EV's: 80 HP / 252 Atk / 176 Spe

- Stealth Rock
- Iron Head
- Trick
- U-Turn

This guy is my lead and it’s been to tell you the truth. I see a lot of frail suicide leads and with the stunning 60% chance to flinch the opponent, this guy rock. Also, with the rather fast speed and considerable power, it also works rather as a mini revenge killer.

Gyarados @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
Nature: Adamant
EV’s: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe

- Dragon Dance
- Water Fall
- Ice Fang
- Earthquake

This is the one I have been using for a while and often it works great. I am using him as the bulky offensive pokemon and at this point I am also considering BulkyGyara. However, I do like this set as with just one dragon dance and its massive 394 attack stats, it does very well. With such high power, I’ve sometimes KO’d few even without dragon dance (of course…I try to setup but if it seems that I cannot).

Gengar @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
Nature: Modest
EV’s: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe

- Shadow Ball
- Thunderbolt
- Focus Blast
- Trick/Hidden Power-Fire

Though he is frail, his high special attack and speed, along with good movepool, allows him to serve as a good revenge killer. Once he is tired out and is about to die off, he can use trick in order to greatly cripple the opponent’s major sweepers, such as life orbers or choice users. However, I am opened to (as I am with others) changing him into a more suited revenge killer if necessary.

Latias @ Choice Specs
Ability: Levitate
Nature: Timid
EV’s: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe

- Draco Meteor
- Dragon Pulse
- Surf
- Thuderbolt

This is my bulky special sweeper. With its high speed and decent special attack stats, she can utilize the infamous Draco Meteor perfectly. It would be, of course, nice if I had Latios then I would use the specs version of him but this is what I have. I could be using the CM, life orb set but I feel like this set would benefit me more as it doesn’t need to set up anything in order to unleash its Draco Meteor.

Cresselia @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
Nature: Bold
EV’s: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA

- Reflect
- Moonlight
- Ice Beam
-Thunder Wave

This guy (girl), with great defensive stats, has the ability to take a lot of hits and still survive. Additionally, it can be a serious threat to the ever-so popular salamences, especially mixmences, who roam about the metagame as if it was the new garchomp (well, I may be pushing but you know what I mean lol). Also, this pokemon can seriously cripple the scarfers who ultimately use their speed to their full advantage. Pretty much the only thing I don’t like about this thing is its fat duck-like figure but then again it is looking gorgeous in its own weird ways XD.

Tyranitar @ Shuca Berry
Ability: Sand Stream
Nature: Jolly
EV’s: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe

- Dragon Dance
- Crunch
- Stone Edge
- Fire Punch

Tyranitar is my favorite pokemon and at this point I am using him as a late-game sweeper. I am using the Shuca Berry since I do have trouble against earthquake very often. I am aware of Babiri Berry and such but I personally believe there are more EQ users then there are fighting-move utilizing pokemons (I do know about the x4 effective by the way). However, I am also STRUGGLING to see whether I should change this pokemon into a Choice Bander and use him as a physical tank rather than as a late-game sweeper…what do you think? Oh and I was thinking putting Lucario as the late-game sweeper if I use the choice bander. Anyways, at this point he comes out VERY late in the game once I have gotten rid of the likes of scizor and other major counters of his.

I would not use TTar on this team. When he brings in sandstorm, your team is going to start wearing itself down. Gengar and Latias lose 1/16 each turn, +SR, and Cresselia will only heal 1/4 with moonlight. Also, Chople Berry blocks fighting, Babiri blocks steel. In TTar's spot, I would put Scizor. Scizor deals with Celebi, something you have a rather large problem with (especially defensive ones). TTar also could be problematic, preying on Cresselia's reduced healing and Pursuiting Latias and Gengar. I would use a Swords Dance variant, as you already have 3 choicers.

Scizor@Life Orb/Lifeovers
248 HP 252 Atk 8 SpD
-Swords Dance
-Bullet Punch
-Superpower/Brick Break
-Roost/Quick Attack/X-Scissor

Thanks but if I really wanted to keep both latias and tyranitar, how should the team be changed into? Also, would the fact that bringing tyranitar out very late in the game as the late-game sweeper be better off for the other pokemons as they won't be damaged by his sand unil then?

If your that worried about Specsmence, why not try making your Cress drop Moonlight in favor of CM? The recovery is affected under weather conditions and since you've got T-tar, if she comes in afterward, her Moonlight recovery won't be so great. Reflect and CM together makes her not only a team player casting defensive boosts for everyone else, but CM gives her a reason to abuse Ice Beam. I doubt Specsmence would even want to stay in on her if she starts CMing away.

Latias with two dragon moves seems a bit of an overkill. Draco Meteor would be the one to keep. In place of Dragon Pulse...hmm, maybe Grass Knot? You could of course, go for double STAB and tack Psychic on her, but it's all a matter of personal preference. I can see though why you'd want to include two dragon moves just in case DM runs out and you want a reliable secondary dragon move, but chances are if you're running Specs Latias, chances are you'll kill at least two with DM before you go down.

Of course, you could sacrifice some of that power for versitility with-

Latias @ Life Orb
Timid
4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe

Draco Meteor
Recover
Thunderbolt
Grass Knot/Psychic

Gives her more turns to live, but sacrifices power and gains recoil, which is why Recover's there to take off the damage and save yourelf from other Pokes. Again Grass Knot or Psychic is a preference. Surf in one of the slots will grant you almost unresisted attacks on nearly everything that comes at you. However, I see more of a chance using your Specs version though with slight modifications.

Lucario is horror with Choice Close Combat and late game you'd be hard pressed to see anything stop him form SDing up. SpecsLati can clear the way for Lucario later on and works really well with him. Plus, if you do want to attempt the whole Moolight recovery, your own teammate won't hamper Cress' Leftie gain or ruin Moonlight's recovery chance.

Since this team also seems to lack any reliable recovery moves, you could opt for a Wish passer in Vaporeon or even do a gimicky Cress with Lunar Dance(?) (correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it allows you to completely restore and bring back one of your fainted pokes) Of course, that's just another off-hand suggestion><

Good luck with your team and hope this helped somewhat.

You might definitely want to consider Lunar Dance on Cresselia. Your team in general has a sort of do-or-die approach, and Cress's stall-like playstyle seems to work counter to that.

If you don't rely too much on Cress's ability to recover damage, you can try this set:

Cresselia@Light Clay
252 HP / 60 Def / 44 SDef / 152 Spd
Bold Nature
Reflect
Light Screen
Lunar Dance
Thunder Wave

This will allow you to revive either of your weakened/statused sweepers for another blaze of glory. The loss of def ev's compared to your set isn't much of a problem because with reflect up, CB Tar's Pursuit will only do a max of 43% when you switch out. And with 6 turns of one screen and 7 turns of another, both Gyara and TTar (or Scizor or Lucario if you take either of the above suggestions) can do a good amount of damage.
