RMT - Sun Team, Shooting Suns (OU)

Hi all! I'm new to the forums but have been lurking around for ages now since I've decided to go competitive in gen6. So without further ado here's my team!

Houndoom@houndoomite /flash fire
Naive nature /252 sp.atk/ 4 atk/ 252 spe
Sucker Punch
Flamethrower
Nasty Plot
Protect

Pretty much the main workhorse of the team, set up sun, pull him out, mega+nasty plot and flame thrower to victory! Sucker punch also provides great priority and protect allows him to mega without fear of being out-sped.

Standard volcarona build, though I'm having troubles with setting her up for a sweep as she's normally taken out before she gets a chance. Though at times she tends to get me out of a pinch with her sun boosted +1 fiery dances or surprise attacks on bulky waters with drain. So I have no clue what to do with her.

Revenge killer of the century, I cannot stress how many close calls this little guy has pulled me out of. His role is twofold revenge killing almost anything with his great move coverage and leading as a u-turn scout.

This little guy is the lead scout, burning potential threats then volt switching out to allow sweepers to set up and do their job. He's also an amazing check to anything that threatens my sun setter and fire sweepers.

The sun setter and overall team supporter can troll with burns/poison and substitute. She is also extremely deadly with a sun amped fire blast and easily takes unprepared pokes out pretty fast.

Pretty much your standard cloyster, tanks massive attacks, checks water threats, sets up hazards and rapid spins any away from my side. He's the teams utility and serves his role pretty well, just gotta watch out for pesky special attackers.

So I understand the logic behind Houndoom running Protect but you lose some coverage running it. With that being said Protect > SolarBeam on M-Houndoom. You more than likely will have the sun up so Solarbeam will be able to handle some of the things your team has trouble with such as Water, Rock, and Ground.

As for Volcarona, if it's not lasting as long as you would like it to, you can opt to run a physically defensive spread on it. Something along the lines of this.

Bold Nature

- Giga Drain / Rest
- Quiver Dance
Provided a Rest + Chesto Berry alternative since Volcarona is prone to status effects such as toxic and paralysis. Something you can try out.

Last thing is when running weather it's usually good to have at least two weather setters so you should try and see if you can fit one in there.
