THE TEAM AT A GLANCE:
Hi everyone... and thanks for reading this.
AS SOON AS POSSIBLE I'LL ADD THE THREAT LIST.
I made this team four days ago, because my old team was losing in horrible ways against the new Platinum moves/forms. So I decided to use them myself: this is what I created. In two days I reached 1590s with my new account, but lately I've been beaten too often, and now I'm back to 1520s, so I decided to post my team to be helped. The main problem I've encountered with this team is that my pokes are often too fragile to switch in safely... however, here's the team:
***KINGDRA***
Kingdra @ Leftovers
Sniper
Adamant (24 HP / 252 Atk / 232 Spd)
- Dragon Dance
- Waterfall
- Substitute
- Outrage
This is my lead. Sub for status, DD to sweep, Outrage/Waterfall for double STAB and wonderful coverage. He's really difficult to OHKO and so he's pretty sure to DD/Sub at least once. If the opponent is slower I always use Sub first to scout/prevent status. If the opponent's faster I DD once, then I use Waterfall/Outrage if I can score at least a 2HKO, or I use sub if I predict a switch. If the opponent switches, I'm now behind a Sub and free to DD/Sweep. The main problem is Hypnosis coming from faster leads (Yes Gengar, I'm thinking at you), or ScarfMence (I met ScarfMence lead only once, but is frightening to fight). When I predict a dragon attack coming, I switch to Scizor/Heatran, unless I'm behind a sub or I'm sure to kill the opponent. 232 Speed EVS allows him to outspeed + Nature 130 Base Speed pokes, and 24 HP EVs give him optimal Lefties recovery.
***SCIZOR***
Scizor @ Leftovers
Technician
Adamant (232 HP / 252 Atk / 24 Def)
- Bullet Punch
- Brick Break
- Swords Dance
- Quick Attack
What can I say about him? He's just wonderful. He can sweep unprepared teams without problems, kill weakened opponents and fast, fragile pokes like Gengar/Weavile/Deoxys without problems. He's also my reserve Scizor/Skymin counter when Heatran falls, and can be a revenge killer.
I think everyone knows why Bullet Punch is there; Quick Attack is to hit Zapdos and Gyarados (even if I'm missing X-Scissor) and Brick Break is for steels.
***MAMOSWINE***
Mamoswine @ Life Orb
Snow Cloak
Adamant (4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd)
- Earthquake
- Ice Shard
- Superpower
- Stone Edge
I love Mamo. Often is the only thing which can stop a Skymin/Salamence sweep. Simple EV spread, Ice shard for priority and to revenge kill Skymin/Salamence, Earthquake for obvious STAB and raw power, Stone Edge for coverage and Superpower for more coverage, and to kill opponent Mamos. He also gives me a Electric immunity I need to absorb Zappy's Thunderbolts and Thunder Waves. Even if he can be pretty difficult to switch in I don't think I'm replacing him soon.
***HEATRAN***
Heatran @ Choice Scarf
Flash Fire
Timid (4 Def/252 Spd/252 SAtk)
- Earth Power
- Flamethrower
- Dark Pulse
- Dragon Pulse
ScarfTran. Irreplaceable. He counters Heatrans, Skymin and Scizors (maybe the 3 most prominent threats in the metagame) like no other pokemon. He switches in Fire attackes aimed to Skymin, or Dragon attackes aimed to Kingdra. Timid to outspeed more, Earth Power to hit Steels/Rocks, Flamethrower to dent everything else (except for Waters). I prefer Flamethrower to Fire Blast for the superior PP/Accuracy. Dragon pulse over HP: Ice to hit Kingdra and to avoid the odd Yache Berry, and Dark Pulse to hit Ghosts/Psychics. I'm thinking to relace Dark Pulse, but I don't want to use Explosion (but if I have to, I'll use it).
***SKYMIN***
Shaymin @ Leftovers
Serene Grace
Timid (4 Def / 252 Spd / 252 SAtk)
- Earth Power
- Air Slash
- Seed Flare
- Substitute
Pretty standard. Sub on the switch or on the Status move, then sweep. I don't think I have to explain this monster, I think you know how it works. The 4 Def EVs are to avoid an even number of HP (4HKO from Stealth Rock).
***DEOXYS***
Deoxys-e @ Expert Belt
Pressure
Hasty (160 Atk / 96 Spd / 252 SAtk)
- Superpower
- Ice Beam
- Fire Punch
- Thunderbolt
Late-Game sweeper. Superpower to hurt Blissey, Heatran, Tyranitar and some steels. Fire Punch to kill those steels that thinks they can switch in without problems, BoltBeam for coverage. Expert Belt to avoid residual damage. Simple, effective.
