This team was planned to be the last team that I made..then came Platinum, so it might not be the last. One should also take into account that I made this team before Platinum changes were made, so it might not counter all of the transitional changes from D/P to Platinum. However, if you do see an obvious weakness to a change or a change that would fit the team better fell free to share because I am not aware of all of alterations that were made. Now onto the team...
TEAM OVERVIEW
-iLead-
Porygon2 @ Leftovers
[Modest] 240 HP / 164 Def / 12 SpA / 92 SpD
Trace
Discharge
Ice Beam
Magic Coat
Recover
Honestly I don't know why this little cyber duck doesn't get more usage than it does now. When others are foolish enough to try to an status it, it hits right back, it counters some of the most potent OU threats in the game such as Salamence, Gyarados, and Heatran and has a reliable way of recovery. Dishcarge's 30% paralyze rate also helps in fullfilling his support duties.
-Rock and Wallin'-
Gliscor @ Leftovers
[Impish] 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Sand Veil
Stealth Rock
Earthquake
Aerial Ace
Roost
Standard Physcial Wall Gliscor. Prevents me from being sweeped by ScarfHera , Breloom, SDLuke, and, to some extend, Metagross. Stealth Rock works well with Charm Blissey since it causes many switches.
-Sleeping Beauty-
Cressilia @ Leftovers
[Bold] 252 HP / 108 Def / 148 SpD
Levitate
Psychic
Ice Beam
Rest
Sleep Talk
My status absorber if for some reason Porygon2 is not there. If you haven't noticed yet, this team would have major problems with MixApe if Cressy were not here, which is why I went for Psychic over charge beam. It also provides me coverage for other threats such as Mamoswine, Dragonite, and Machamp to name a few. I had a hard time deciding whether to use Vaporeon or Cressilia here, but Cressilia has overall better stats and can take status well which lead me to pick her.
-The "X" Factor-
Metagross @ Choice Band
[Adamant] 252 HP / 244 Atk / 12 Def
Clear Body
Meteor Mash
Bullet Punch
Earthquake
Explosion
Well I'm not quite sure if this fits the team best, but I know I needed a Steel type on this team since I lacked one before and I needed something to take care of Weavile and Cressilia, so it was down to Scizor and Metagross. And since Metagross possesses more sheer power, which this team could use, I decided that it was a good fit and so far it's been working out well for me. Explosion over anything else incase something goes wrong.
-The Charmer-
Blissey @ Leftovers
[Calm] 252 Def / 80 SpA / 176 SpD
Natural Cure
Charm
Seismic Toss
Flamethrower
Softboiled
Here's another example of something that doesn't get used much, but has incredible results. Charm messes up so many people early in the game it's ridiculous. Infernape's LO Close Combat does not even OHKO Blissey (54.99% - 64.67%) after one charm to give you an idea of how great it is. Flamethrower is there because I don't have to worry about thousands of Garchomps comming in on me, but instead the crowd now usually consists of Lucarios, Heracrosses, and Scizors. Blissey obviously helps me with any other special attacker I may be having trouble with.
-The Janitor-
Infernape @ Life Orb
[Naive] 24 Atk / 252 SpA / 232 Spe
Blaze
Nasty Plot
Close Combat
Flamethrower
Grass Knot / HP [Ice]
And now the final member of the team, Infernape, the Late Game sweeper. I'm not sure whether to put Grass Knot or HP[Ice] in the last spot though. Grass Knot helps me with strangling waters that may be left behind on the opponent's team, but with the rise in Salamences now due to his new weapon, Outrage, it could be the better choice. However, the set I've been using is with Grass Knot.
