RMT - The Okami Team.

Just using this for some fun on Shoddy and possibly making it an in-game team. I want to try a Zapados lead and see just how powerful the new Gyarados happens to be. Just rate it, I can use some advice on move choices, but there is one thing I must say : No Hidden Power.

Zapdos @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 196 HP/252 Spd/62 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Baton Pass
- Substitute
- Thunderbolt
- Agility

I think Zappy is a pretty unique lead pokemon. First off he won't need to deal with Stealth Rock on the first turn and he counters a couple of standard leads I saw some people using. Yanmega can't do crap with Bug Buzz and Air Slash, and after Substitute he can't use Hypnosis either - Also the Nature and EVs make sure that Yanmega won't be out-speeding him first turn. Bronzong can't hit him with EQ or any status move after a sub either. The only lead that really worries me would be a Typhlosion lead, but I just need to see how to deal with that.

Using Agility since I normally have the chance to set it up.

Weavile (M) @ Choice Band
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 40 HP/252 Atk/216 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Pursuit
- Ice Shard
- Aerial Ace
- Brick Break

It's pretty standard. I think that if Heracross comes in on Zapdos I can send in Weavile with a Sub-BP pass and either one-shot it or damage whatever comes in with BB. My choice of using Ice Shard over IP isn't one I like to make. I still am un-sure on his moves and I don't think I need to worry about using AA for Heracross since it isn't a big threat to me...

Swampert (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 240 HP/216 Def/54 SAtk
Relaxed nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Earthquake
- Ice Beam
- Surf
- Stealth Rock

One of my favorite pokemon from ADV. I love how easy he is to bring in and I can use SR on him now :D!!!

---
Lucario (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 6 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Close Combat
- Extremespeed
- Swords Dance
- Stone Edge

I was unable to use Venusaur and find that the only physical wall I'd face would be Skarmory usually who won't want a SD CC.

---
Infernape (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 24 Atk/232 Spd/252 SAtk
Naive nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Close Combat
- Flamethrower
- Grass Knot
- Nasty Plot

I loved Blaziken and really wished he were better than Infernape. That said I couldn't deny how much better he is. It's a common Mixed set-up that can destroy walls and many threats to me.

---
Gyarados (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 216 HP/16 Atk/176 Def/100 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Dragon Dance
- Earthquake
- Taunt
- Waterfall

I don't know if I want to continue using him. I really need to see how he works out. That said I believe he can deal some serious damage, but I may use the straight-offense DDdos.

Using this new Zapados:
Zapdos @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 196 HP/252 Spd/62 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Baton Pass
- Substitute
- Thunderbolt
- Agility

And replaced Venusaur with SD Luke :
Lucario (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 6 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Close Combat
- Extremespeed
- Swords Dance
- Stone Edge

I don't like Swampert in this team, at all. To me, Swampert's lack of a reliable recovery move, opposition that hit heavier than ever before, and poorly synergized with the entire team, immediately forces me to offer alternative in its place. Don't worry, we may still serve Stealth Rock support with the Pokemon that replaces Swampert. Preferably, I believe Celebi would work far better than Swampert, supporting your defensive strategy with further impressive results. Grass Knot, Reflect/Hidden Power [Ice], Recover and Stealth Rock as its moveset, with a simple 252 HP / 220 Def / 36 Spd EV spread, following with a Bold nature. The best IVs to suit the spread would be 10 IVs in Attack and 30 IVs in Defense, giving you Hidden Power [Ice], should you use it.

If you pass Weavile an Agilty boost, then why not utilize this strategy to its fullest potential by removing Choice Band for Life Orb. Alternatively, you could add Focus Sash on Weavile whilst replacing Aerial Ace for Swords Dance. With an Agility, Weavile's outspeeding the entire metagame with its respectable Speed stat.

I replaced AA with Night Slash on Weavile and now am using Life Orb over CB.

I am totally unable to get my hands on a Celebi in-game and keep my in-game and Shoddy team the same which is why I don't use it.

My main problem is probably my lack of a spinner.

Another problem I see is that Lucario just doesn't provide the type of power I am looking for.

Well, would it be difficult to get your hands on Starmie? If not, then I suggest you replace it for Lucario - I chose Lucario due to the fact that you're personally dissapointed in its partnership with the rest of the team, otherwise I would've advised you to replace Swampert. Thunderbolt will hit Gyarados and other Water-type Pokemon with sucessful results, whilst Ice Beam will hit the likes of Garchomp and Salamence respectfully. I would be inclined to choose Thunderbolt over Ice Beam because you can revenge kill opposing Garchomp when in tight situations, where as if Gyarados opposition successfully gets Dragon Dance in, you're done for.

Also BulkyGara versions hardly feel an Ice-Beam off Starmie.

Starmie @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 160 HP/216 Spd/132 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Surf
- Thunderbolt
- Rapid Spin
- Recover

This is what I came up with to replace my Swampert. I tried a few more matches with Lucario and found he is easy to bring in under certain conditions and after a SD can own a lot of Choice Scarfers with ES.

I will try this set, but I just wish I could go back to when I used Bolt-Beam and Surf with Recover :P

Before you EV train Starmie, or use it on Shoddy Battle, make sure to run 172 EVs in HP to grant you with the number 304 - where you retain an additional HP stat point for the sake of the fact that 304 is divisible by 16.

Alright, I'm still iffy about using Lucario though...I mean, my other pokemon are all really helpful and can come in and own.

Lucario has helped, but not to the point where I don't think Pikachu could do a better job with less effort.

Most people who see BulkyGara usually send in something to hit me with an Electric move, because of this I am thinking of using Electivire.

I know I have an electric poke already, but Zapdos is a Passer and usually will die before he uses T-bolt unless it's unable to make a sub for me.

Also I think the Agility Passing would also be beneficial for Electivire so I don't rely only on Motor Drive.

Any thoughts?
