I spent about an hour and a half typing up an incredibly detailed and darn good looking RMT for a fairly unique team, and my power went out, so I'm here to create a slightly downgraded version for your viewing pleasure.
The idea for this team is to force offense oriented teams into a defensive position through Toxic Spikes and Reflect/Screen, while out-stalling or crippling walls. The team consists of:
Movesets:
Kirk Man-Fist @ Focus Sash
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Leaf Storm
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Toxic Spikes
- Sleep Powder
Roserade is in my experience the most reliable Toxic Spiker, and has Sleep powder to temporarily stop most other starters that would beat it 1 on 1. With support from several steel types, it can cover most other common starters and, at some point in the fight, guarantee that Toxic Spikes will go down if needed. The one thing I don't like about Roserade is the use of an inaccurate sleep move on a flimsy pokemon.
Double-Deadly Rogers @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 80 HP/252 Atk/176 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Outrage
- Stone Edge (OR Fire Punch depending on Dusclops)
Still deciding between Fire Punch or not. It's a sweeper with almost perfect synergy with Heatran and Empoleon. Heatran and Flygon can switch into much of what other pokemon cannot, they love reflect and light screen, and the only offensive weaknesses they share are bulky waters, which Empoleon loves to set up on. Makes tyranitar a joke, and gets rid of scizor, infernapes, and lucario trying to set up.
Leopard the Infathomable @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP/252 Def/4 SDef
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Will-o-wisp
- Thunderpunch
- Pain Split
- Fire Punch (OR Ice Punch)
Counters Gyarados extremely well, and the only reason why I bother with Fire Punch is for Lucario and Scizor. Not an option to replace it with Spiritomb here because his defenses are too low in comparison, and Spiritomb gets far less type coverage. A STalk set is a possibility.
Soda-Pop Soul Destroyer @ Petaya Berry
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 12 HP/232 Spd/252 SAtk/12 SDef
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Agility
- Substitute
- Surf
- Ice Beam
A very powerful sweeper late game, benefits greatly from Bronzong and Roserade support, feeds off of anything that can tank Flygon or Heatran, and can switch in quite well with almost constant screening support. It really is a remarkable sweeper, support or not, and teamed with Dusknoir and Flygon can force many CBers into life-risking prediction wars, and if a CBer ever lets Bronzong get in, it guarantees several more rounds of switch hazards.
Lightning Thunderbolt Superstar @ Light Clay
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP/92 Def/164 SDef
Sassy nature (+SDef, -Spd)
- Stealth Rock
- Light Screen
- Reflect
- Gyro Ball
The true backbone of this team. An incredibly reliable SR user, and almost always lands at least one screen every time it switches in with its incredible defenses. I've considered getting a Latias instead of Heatran or Flygon so I can get some wish support for this guy, but frankly this team isn't mean to stall with Bronzong. He just switches a lot. Gyro ball is for taking out Gengar and several other sweepers, but I'm considering Explosion if I find another Gar counter. Stealth Rock helps greatly with Salamence, and since I almost always have a light screen or reflect up, it allows my Dusknoir some attacking options.
Jupiter Great Sunday @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 4 Atk/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Naive nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Explosion
- Dragon Pulse
- Earth Power
- Flamethrower
As mentioned before, has incredible type synergy with the rest of the team, and covers up my fire attack weakness besides Infernape. Has similar attack coverage to Flygon, just from another side of the attacking spectrum. Substitute based sets do not work here. Had to get rid of Fire Blast because the accuracy cost me the majority of my losses.
I've playtested this team quite a bit, only losing to Lucario or Infernape on occasion, or the afformentioned hax. Salamence really isn't that big of a problm unless it comes in immediately after Roserade, which is rare. It also doesn't have a whole lot of safe switch in opportunities. If it switches in and is DD spec, it doesn't have Taunt so Dusknoir's WoW destroys it. CB and Specs require prediction but aren't impossible. Choice Specs Zapdos and Jolteon can pose a small threat, but frankly neither of them can switch in on any of my sweepers without taking big switch in damage.
Taking all suggestions, including removing entire sets or Pokemon. I'm already testing several exchanges of Pokemon including a fairly successful version which replaces Flygon with Gliscor, Bronzong with Latias and Dusknoir with Spiritomb.
