XY OU RMT: Triple Intimidate POWER

Hey guys :] so this is my first RMT and I thought it was worth posting because I was somehow able to get up to the 1800 rankings on showdown with it (making tweaks along the way obviously) anyway this was my final result:

This is definitely not a user friendly team as you really have to make aggressive plays and risky predictions to be successful with it (but that is my preferred play style so it's a lot of fun for me to use).

Manectric @ Manectite
Ability: Lightningrod/Intimidate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch
- Flamethrower
- Hidden Power [Ice]

Naturally, my team was built around my mega-manectric because I enjoy seeing the underdogs succeed in the meta. This is pretty much a standard but effective mega-manectric set that acts as an amazing volt switch pivot while being a lightning fast and powerful special attacker (especially if you can pull off the lightning rod boost). Also, having the ability intimidate on a pivot is extremely resourceful.

Gothitelle @ Choice Specs
Ability: Shadow Tag
EVs: 72 HP / 252 SpA / 184 Spe
Modest Nature
- Psyshock
- Thunderbolt
- Energy Ball
- Hidden Power [Fire]

This lovely lady here is the one who saves my tail when an opponent tries to bring stall. This set effectively traps and gets rid of mostly any stall threat you can imagine including for example the infamous mega venusaur, quagsire, skarmory etc. gothitelle is also very useful for taking care of opposing conkeldurr. I decided to run hp fire as a fourth moveslot because it catches mega-scizors off guard and gets rid of ferrothorn. And lastly I run 184 speed EVs to out-speed most rotom-wash so I can bring them down to a manageable HP with a specs energyball before they volt switch out.

Gyarados @ Safety Goggles
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 88 HP / 252 Atk / 170 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Waterfall
- Bounce
- Earthquake

This Gyarados set has gave me a fair amount of entertainment while using this team. I had no clue what item to run on it for the longest time because leftovers, life orb and lum berry weren't cutting it for me. I started to take notice that spore amoongus or breloom were a nuisance for my team so I was like "what the hell I'm throwing safety gogs on this bad boy." I honestly chuckle everytime I see a breloom on my opponents team because with gyarados switching in on the predicted spore and intimidating the breloom i was able to safely set up a d-dance or 2 depending if they were stupid enough to try and spore again lol. Gogs are also nice for not taking any weather damage. Anyway, besides that it's a pretty standard gyarados set, not many run bounce nowadays but I like it because it hard hitting STAB and has a good chance to para.

landorus-therian.gif

Landorus-Therian @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 46 HP / 252 Atk / 212 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- Knock Off
- U-turn

Landorus-T is a good utility for my team as it is my usual lead, my second pivot with U-turn, third intimidate and my knock off support. I prefer to run rock slide over stone edge for obvious reasons lol, the extra power was not worth the risk especially with a scarf on, it's essentially there to dispose of charizard Y, talonflame and volcarona anyway so either way all of these pokes are OHKO'd but if I were to miss a stone edge I'm extremely vulnerable to set up.. and obviously with rock slide there is also the flinch chance. I really can't explain why my speed isn't maxed, I just prefer it that way, the important thing is that I outspeed any poke that isn't boosted or scarfed (It's usually out-sped by another scarfer anyway even if I'm at max speed and jolly) and I think any lando should run a little bit of bulk for longevity.

azumarill.gif

Azumarill @ Choice Band
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Waterfall
- Play Rough
- Knock Off
- Aqua Jet

There isn't much to say about Azumarill, he's just a bulky powerhouse on the team and being banded there are not many pokes that can switch in on it. He can also take a ton of hits being at max HP and is a decent sponge when expecting a hard hitting attack in general. Knock off is preferred over superpower because azumarill forces a lot of switches and it is just as useful as superpower for crippling chanseys. Aqua jet is also an extremely useful priority to support the team.

mamoswine.gif

Mamoswine @ Life Orb
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Icicle Crash
- Ice Shard
- Stealth Rock

Mamo is my second bulky powerhouse on the team and my stealth rock support. Yet another standard but effective set, life orb priority ice shard definitely pulling clutch in most situations. Being at 252 HP instead of investing in speed has helped me survive many one on one's with other mamoswine's and also survive crucial moments where I can take a hit and OHKO in return with a life orb icicle crash or earthquake. As you can see I prefer bulk over speed in most cases but I honestly feel like investing in speed on a poke that doesn't even hit over 300 is a waste of time.

Now before you start your criticisms please note that I extremely aware of my team's weaknesses which are mainly hazards, kyurem-B and BISHARP -.- I'm open to suggestion on how I can maybe deal with these issues :) I know running more speed on my azumarill might resolve the bisharp issue because I can take a +1 or +2 sucker punch and kill with a waterfall or play rough but I think sacrificing it's bulk might hurt my team even more. Idk it's quite possible the team has plateaued and isn't destine for a top ranking but ya I'm sharing it looking for some helpful input so your comments and insight would be much appreciated!

Thanks for your time,

Crazyeyes
