RMT - UU

This is my first RMT and I would really like to know what I can do to improve this team. It has worked for me so far but I want to see if I can improve it. Let's start by showing the team.

Here is a chart from Marriland showing what my team is weak to.

Zapdos @ Choice Specs
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch
- Heat Wave
- Hidden Power [Ice]

Zapdos acts as my primary special attacker since it has Choice Specs. It also acts as one of my lead pokes, the other one being Weavile. I use Thunderbolt as my primary STAB attack which hits a lot of pokes really hard. Volt Switch is there for switching out of unfavorable match-ups and to gain momentum. Heat Wave gets me past Steel & Grass types while Hidden Power Ice lets me hit Ground & Dragon types that tend to switch in on Zapdos such as Flygon & Gligar but leaves me vulnerable to things like Swampert & Rhyperior. The EVs and nature allows me to out-speed Base 100 pokes and still hit hard due to Choice Specs and max Special Attack EVs.

Weavile @ Focus Sash
Trait: Pickpocket
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Ice Shard
- Low Kick
- Night Slash

Weavile usually acts as my lead instead of Zapdos because it holds Focus Sash and it can set up with Swords Dance to beat opposing leads or KO some pokes before it goes down. Ice Shard is there for the priority STAB and to hit Grass, Ground & Dragon types. Low Kick lets me hit things like Snorlax and other Normal types for super effective damage while Night Slash lets me deal with Ghost & Psychic types and hit other pokes hard due to STAB and increased critical hit rate. The EVs are standard max Attack and Speed with a Jolly nature.

Virizion @ Life Orb
Trait: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Leaf Blade
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge

Virizion is my second setup sweeper and it is very useful for checking Special Attackers like Zapdos and Raikou. The set is the standard physical sweeper with Swords Dance for boosting my Attack. Leaf Blade is a reliable STAB attack and it hits things like bulky water types and other bulky pokemon. Close Combat gets me past Steel types who would wall me to infinity and beyond without Close Combat and Stone Edge lets me hit Flying & Fire types hard. The EVs and nature are also standard for this set. I don't know if I should change Life Orb for Lum Berry. There have been times where I come in and sponge a Scald only to get burned or if it gets hit with some other status preventing my sweep.

Empoleon @ Petaya Berry
Trait: Torrent
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature
IVs: 30 HP
- Agility
- Substitute
- Surf
- Grass Knot

Sub Agility Petaya Empoleon is my last setup sweeper and he does his job very well. Empoleon is the one that usually finishes the game for me, unless there are still scarfed pokemon faster than him after an Agility boost. I chose Grass Knot over Ice Beam because I didn't want to get walled by Water types. Surf is there for the accuracy and STAB because Hydro Pump is really annoying when it misses. I put 30 HP EVs so that it hits the right amount of HP after 3 subs to activate the Petaya Berry. Modest nature is preferred for the added power.

Sharpedo @ Life Orb
Trait: Speed Boost
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Protect
- Waterfall
- Crunch
- Earthquake

Sharpedo deals with pokemon that are to fast for my team and after a turn of speed boost it can out-speed a lot of things. Protect is for scouting and getting that first speed increase. STAB Waterfall does a lot of damage and STAB Crunch takes care of Ghost & Psychic types. Earthquake is my last coverage moves and it hits things I wouldn't normally OHKO such as Raikou and Steel types. Adamant nature is used for full damage and Life Orb for the flexibility and power it provides.

Gligar @ Eviolite
Trait: Immunity
EVs: 252 HP / 248 Def / 8 Spd
Impish Nature
- Roost
- Earthquake
- Knock Off
- Taunt

Gligar is my only defensive pokemon on the team and it mainly tries to Knock Off opposing pokes items and sponge physical attacks. I don't know if I should go with Toxic instead of Knock Off since I can get weaken opposing Eviolite users and Choice reliant pokes like Azumarill. With Toxic I can Roost stall other pokes that Gligar won't normally kill. Taunt is there to prevent pokes from setting up on me. The EVs, ability and nature on Gligar are standard except for the additional investment in Speed so that I can out-speed fellow Gligar and hit them with Knock Off. I thought about switching out Gligar for Qwilfish since it does a good job of taking physical attackers as well but I didn't want to lose my Electric immunity and have another pokemon weak to Electric.

Switch Knock Off to Stealth Rock on Gligar. It never hurts to get your rocks up.

If Gligar is your only defensive poke, you're in bad shape. Maybe you could give Zapdos a more defensive set, or change one of your water-types to Blastoise, (which would also let you get rid of the rocks that would give Zapdos and Weavile trouble.

Hey, this team looks pretty cool, but it has some obvious problems, such as the lack of a Stealth Rock settler, and the huge weakness to special attackers, such as Raikou or Chandelure. You also lack a Fire-type resist, which means that strong Fire-type attackers will pose a serious threat to your team. In my opinion, you should seriously consider replacing one of your pokemon (preferably Weavile) for Snorlax, as it would provide you with a ''catch-all'' check for any special sweeper in the tier, a fire type resist and a bulky, hard hitting pokemon in general. It would be a great addition as it would let your team deal with Raikou, which spell death for your team whenever it could get into the battle. I would suggest using a Choice Band set, as it keeps the offensive pressure that your teams puts on the opponent, but you could use Curse+3 attacks or an All-Out set with Leftovers if you want to.

Snorlax@Choice Band | Thick Fat
Adamant Nature | 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 SpDef
Return / Crunch / Earthquake / Pursuit

Finally, I would like to recommend changing Gligar's moveset to Earthquake / Roost / Stealth Rock / Toxic | U-turn (the last spot is mainly filler, use the move you like the most, each has its uses). As I mentioned before you lack a Stealth Rock user, which is a significant loss for any team, as Stealth Rock is probably the best move in the game, as it racks up a lot of damage during any battle, and also helps to keep in check dangerous pokemon such as Zapdos or Darmanitan. Good luck!
