RMT, work in progress, need perspectives

Yanmega@Leftovers
Modest
176 HP, 252 Sp Atk, 80 Spd

Hypnosis
Protect
Air Slash
Bug Buzz

I started out with a Ninjask lead, but it just didn't have enough options. If it came down to just my Ninjask left, the game was over. With Yanmega I get a fast lead, with great specials which counter a lot of the common leads, and a hypnosis to boot. Anything faster than it and I can just protect and use the speed boost to blow it away.

Tentacruel@Leftovers
Timid
252 Spd, 252 SpDef, 6 Def

Toxic Spikes
Confuse Ray
Surf
Mirror Coat

A lot of people give me trash for Confuse Ray, but I really like it. This thing is fast enough to get one about before almost anything, and it gives me time to throw out spikes. Also, this thing is bulky enough to take a T-Bolt from a Zapdos and 1HKO it with the mirror coat. Surf just so I don't get laughed at by taunters

Electivire@Expert Belt
Adamant
252 Atk, 252 Spd, 6 Def

Cross Chop
Thunderpunch
Ice Punch
Earthquake

If I can bait a T-Bolt, Thunder, or Thunderpunch with Yanmega/Togekiss, and give this thing a Motordrive boost, the game is over. I cover 14-15 super effectives with this move set, and the expert belt gives me that little extra.

Togekiss@Leftovers
Timid
252 SpAtk, 252 Spd, 6 Hp

Air Slash
Grass Knot
Aura Sphere
Thunder Wave

I love my Togekiss. 60% Flinch rate, paralyze, and good coverage with Air Slash/Aura sphere makes this guy dangerous. Grass Knot is for those pesky Swamperts and Quagsires.

Steelix@Leftovers
Impish
252 HP, 120 Atk, 136 Def

Roar
Stealth Rock
Stone Edge
Explosion

Usually bring this guy out after Tentacruel has done his business with his toxic spikes. Lay out a Stealth Rock, then Roar stuff at will.

Scizor@Life Orb
Adamant
Technician
252 Atk, 252 Spd, 4 Def

Night Slash
Bullet Punch
Swords Dance
X-Scissor

Usual sweeper Scizor, Night Slash makes up for none of my other pokes doing that great against psychics, and the rest is just, well, the rest.

3. Have some actual words in your post beyond your six Pokemon and their moves. Not following this makes your post quite boring to read and rate. All Pokemon should have a good reason for being in your team anyway, so why not post that reason? If you are having trouble with this one, start by giving an explanation for each team member. Why are they there? What role do they serve? How do you get them in? Then, give an explanation of how you would open with the team and how you would go about using it. All of these things help people rate your team and allow us to offer more helpful advice.

Hmm, where to start on this team? Let's do this in order.

Yanmega is not an effective lead in today's metagame, and your moveset forces it to have no hope of beating Swampert. (Who is probably the most common lead) Jirachi also smashs your lead Yanmega to smitherines, and is also a common lead. Ontop of this, it can't beat Weavile leads, nor can it beat Aerodactyl leads. Since it's not countering any of the common leads (Outside of Metagross, which is still only a 2HKO, SRs still get setup) it's not really doing it's job. Try replacing it with Swampert, Metagross, Jirachi, Butterfree or Aerodactyl.

I don't get what you're trying to do with Tentacruel here. Tentacruel can ONLY be used as Utility, your moveset doesn't follow that goal. Tentacruel has lackluster defense, so it needs the Bold nature to take Physical hits better, and let's be honest; Does Tentacruel really need speed? Also, replace Confuse Ray and Mirror Coat for Rapid Spin and Sludge Bomb. Rapid Spin lets you get rid of the Spikes/Stealth Rocks that stall teams like to setup, and with Tentacruel being of the Poison type, it can absorb Toxic Spikes. Sludge Bomb is used to hit the grass Pokemon that resist Surf, and serves as his secondary STAB attack.
In terms of EVs, get rid of all his speed for HP, and take away some of his Sp.Def for Defense.

E-Vire is fine.

On Togekiss, replace Thunder Wave with Secret Power, it has a 60% chance to paralyze anything that isn't a ghost, this is good because it hits ground type Pokemon.

Steelix serves absolutely no point on this team, after you remove Yanmega, you'll have a lead that can setup SRs (unless you opt for Butterfree). Remove Steelix for Skarmory immediately, it's pretty much a better Steelix.

Your Scizor is not a usual "Sweeping Scizor". Sweeping Scizor should always have 32 HP to make 11 uses of it's Life Orb, 252 attack for maximum power and since it doesn't need any other stats raised, the remaining 224 are dumped into Speed. Also, remove Night Slash ASAP, it's an inferior Pursuit, and even Pursuit shouldn't be played on this set. Use Superpower over both Night Slash and Pursuit on the SD Set, nao.

Sorry if I sounded harsh through the course of that long paragraph, this team looks like it was made in an hour's time.

96 HP / 252 Spd / 160 SDef gives Tentacruel better defenses overall. And please don't use Confuse Ray. People will get mad at you for using haxing moves.

It was made in about 3 minutes. I'm extremely new, and learning based on trial and error. I've faced a crapload of Ninjasks, and infernapes, and Yanmega just destroys them.

I've been contemplating removing steelix, but I just really don't like skarm, my team is already weak to Electric. Any other physical wall?

As for Scizor I don't know how he works yet, really. The game is over by the time I get him out.

........and I love my Tentacruel.....

Would that still allow me to take a Zapdos T-bolt? Because I need to, to pull off Mirror Coat. Ask Liam about that.

But if it will then that would be great to have a little more HP. And I'm fine with people getting angry at me, for haxing or otherwise.
