ORAS OU RMT

First off I want to say that this is the first competitive team I've ever made, though I have had a decent amount of experience from the web. So please read and comment any advice you have for me and my team. Thanks :)

Charizard @ Charizardite Y
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Fire Blast
- Solar Beam
- Focus Blast
- Roost

I chose mega charizard-y as a drought wallbreaker(his pre-mega ability is listed, not its drought ability). I chose the charizardite y over the x because I felt no need to have a mixed attacker and would definetly prefer 159 Sp.A over 130. The evs are set up for a fast special sweeper and I chose a timid nature over modest to outspeed pokemon like Landorous-T and garchomp. Fire Blast is its STAB move and Roost to keep charizard healthy. Solar beam and focus blast give it a good type coverage as well.

Tentacruel @ Black Sludge
Ability: Liquid Ooze
EVs: 248 HP / 216 Def / 28 SpD / 16 Spe
Timid Nature
- Scald
- Rapid Spin
- Toxic Spikes
- Acid Spray

Tentacruel is my main utilty pokemon and a good wall. black sludge helps make up for its lack of healing moves and keeps it alive longer. liquid ooze will counter leeching moves and the evs make Tentacruel very bulky. Scald is its STAB attack move and rapid spin gets rid of hazards, mainly so charizard can come in safely. toxic spikes helps wear down opposing teams and can sometimes prevent switch ins. Acid spray helps tentacruel do damage and since charizard is a special attacker it weakens enemies for him to do better.

Ferrothorn @ Leftovers
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 88 Def / 168 SpD
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Stealth Rock
- Leech Seed
- Gyro Ball
- Power Whip

Ferrothorn is my main stealth rock pokemon and also functions as a great wall. Although, it can still pack a punch with gyro ball and power whip, its two main attcking STAB moves. Iron barbs makes it a huge threat to Physical attackers and the EV spread provides great bulk. It has 0 speed IVs to make Gyro ball very powerful. Also leftovers and leech seed help keep ferrothorn alive.

Weavile @ Life Orb
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Icicle Crash
- Knock Off
- Ice Shard
- Pursuit

Weaville somewhat functions as a revenge killer. Life orb gives it great power and Icicle Crash, its main powerful STAB move is even better. Weaville also has knock off to get rid of items as well as pack a punch. Ice shard is used to always go first as well as pursuit, which also can trap pokemon in. The evs are for a fast physical sweeper and jolly nature to outspeed many foes.

Jolteon @ Choice Specs
Ability: Volt Absorb
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Signal Beam
- Hidden Power [Grass]
- Volt Switch

Jolteon will be my usual Lead with the option of volt switch and being a very fast pokemon. But it can also pack a major punch with choice specs. Volt absorb is the obvious choice to counter electric types. Evs are for a fast special sweeper and I chose timid for the extra speed. Thunderbolt is its main STAB move and Signal Beam and HP grass help type coverage.

Florges (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Flower Veil
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
- Wish
- Moonblast
- Aromatherapy
- Toxic

Florges is my healing utility pokemon. Leftovers keeps it alive and the Evs help too. Wish and Aromatherapy Help keep my other pokemon alive as well. Toxic breaks down the teams and Moonblast is its main STAB move.

Please leave any comments and advice below. Thank You.

A really great competitive team if it's truly your first team. The only real issue I find is that Ferrothorn. If you put some more EV's into Attack, that could be a very dangerous guy to deal with.
Great job, dude.

Thanks! And I will change the Ev spread up a bit. Also it is my first competitive team, but I have thought it out for quite a bit. Now its time to get breeding for those gosh darn IVs... Hooray!

Hey jmgjoe1, this is a pretty solid team for your first competitive build, but i have a few suggestions to make it function better in the OU meta, and to help you cover some threats your team isn't prepared for.

For one, I'd change Jolteon to Raikou although it's slower, but it has better bulk and hits a tadbit harder. This helps a lot at chipping away at your opponents checks to Zard Y that may switch into Raikou such as Latios, Latias, Tyranitar, and Heatran. Raikou may not seem that much bulkier than Jolteon, but its defenses allow it to live attacks such as Adamant LO Sucker Punch from Bisharp and Specs Secret Sword from Keldeo fairly comfortably, two things that easily kill Jolteon. It's great to have that extra bit of bulk when worst comes to worst.

HP Ice is more beneficial than HP Grass due to the plethora of Dragon Types in the tier, namely Garchomp and Dragonite. It also helps threaten Ground types that try to get a free switch-in on an Electric move. Shadow Ball is generally better than Signal Beam as well since Ghost typing only has one resist and one immunity, unlike Bug coverage which has much more resists and doesn't hit as many Pokemon consistently that Shadow Ball can. It can help get huge hits off on common threats in the tier such as the Latis and M-Metagross, as well as still hit stuff like Celebi hard.

I'd also replace Florges with Unaware Clefable as your cleric, since it helps with checking setup sweepers and since provides Wish and Heal Bell utility. Your team has no solid countermeasures to Dragon Dance and Swords Dance users like Feraligatr, Gyarados, Dragonite, and Garchomp, and actually gets 6-0'd by Belly Drum Azumarill with Knock Off, so this helps with that quite a bit while still maintaining your cleric slot. Wish + Protect is also better than just having Wish by itself due to consistency, and since you already have T-Spikes carrying Toxic isn't really necessary.

Lastly, I'd replace Weavile with Scarf Tyranitar as your Pursuit trapper since you have a more Balanced build and it would be beneficial to you to he able to have your Pursuit trapper be able to hard switch into the Pokemon it wants to trap. It also helps you not get 6-0'd by Jolly SD Talonflame which can tear through your team otherwise.

It also can check Bisharp which also poses a threat to your team.

Sets:
Raikou @ Choice Specs
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Shadow Ball
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Volt Switch

Clefable @ Leftovers
Ability: Unaware
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 Spe
Bold Nature
- Wish
- Moonblast
- Heal Bell
- Protect

Tyranitar @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Pursuit
- Stone Edge
- Superpower
- Crunch

I hope i was of help to you, good luck!

Thanks! I changed weaville for ttar and Jolteon for raikou... But i was just wondering if there are any other abilitys or moves that can ignore statchanges or something... not a big clefable fan and the stats wont keep her around for too long... also I did change the moves u told me to.

Hey! Solid team. I just have one suggestion.

Change Florges to Sylveon. Sylveon is better for your set, it has more HP to wish heal and do about everything else your Florges already does. You'll trade a tiny bit of special bulk for better support, and a stronger STAB.

Set:

Sylveon @ Leftovers
Ability: Pixilate
EVs: 252 HP / 92 SpA / 164 SpD
Calm Nature
- Toxic
- Heal Bell
- Wish
- Hyper Voice

Hope this helps!

Me neither, but works. Clefable is the only S-ranked non-Mega Pokémon in OU mainly due to how splashable it is. I know its stats aren't that impressive, but like Serperior or Bisharp, Clefable has a useless body and excellent abilities, as well as movepool and typing in Clefable's case. Basically, Clefable is what every Pokémon would want to be... saving for stats.
About Sylveon, it's an OK alternative and hits way harder, but has a worse physical bulk and lacks Unaware to check set-up sweepers.
