Infernape (M) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Naive nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Fake Out
- Stealth Rock
- Fire Blast
- Close Combat

A really good lead, this was my lead before I revamp the team too. I always used Taunt for Gyrados or Bronzong leads they wont be able to DD/SR but now in Platinum, all what you see is Azelf/Aerodactyl/Metagross/Infernape leads. Taunt is still useable for the other Infernape leads since no one runs max speed. And Brick Break is there for Reflect/Light Screen, in D/P i faced alot of Dual Screen Deoxys leads and Brick Break helped me ALOT and its still a good option because I still face some Dual Screen Pokes. And Flamethrower>Fire Blast for accuracy or Ninjask leads(Yes people still lead with Ninjask). Since they will Sub and Protect and Fire Blast only have 8 PP's so I go with Flamethrower. And Stealth Rock to hurt the opponent's Pokes on every switch and thats really helpful. I really have problems with Aerodactyl leads most of the time they use SR first and I set up my own SR and then Brick Break it, after it kill Infernape I go to Heatran and HP Ice it. Or sometimes I just go to Flygon and Outrage it.

dpmba094.png
Gengar (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Hasty nature (+Spd, -Def)
- Thunderbolt
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast
- Explosion

This Gengar have always been good in D/P, but now it may sucks because of 60 accuracy Hypnosis. And I use Hypnosis only because to sleep Blissey's and then switch to Metagross and pursuit them. Shadow Ball+Focus Blast is a really nice combo and Substitute hepls alot after Blissey is gone, like if you get a free Substitute and Blissey is gone its like GG. And it will help me to not get Pursuited by Scizor. Hypnosis is there to give me a free Substitute too. But Hypnosis have been missing alot lately =/ I'm thinking of changing it to a Life Orb Gengar, that thing really hurts so hard, but it will get Pursuited easily by Scizor. I can't really decide.

dpmba130.png
Gyarados (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Dragon Dance
- Waterfall
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge

This thing is really amazing. Mamoswine can be pain in the ass for this team, I have to predict really well against it. Thats one reason for running Jolly nature over Adamant. And I use Jolly nature so I can outspeed Jolteon/Aerodactyl after 1 DD. Or just to outspeed the annoying SubTran W/O any DD's. I use Stone Edge over Ice fang for the opponent's Gyrados, some people send there Gyras at my Gyrados some times and Stone Edge really helps. Eeaarthquake is there for Metagross. Waterfall for STAB. When people send there Celebis at my Gyrados I go to Flygon to avoid the T-Wave and U-turn to Heatran or Metagross and then Fire Blast it or Metoer Mash it. And for Vaporeons I go to Metagross and Thunderpunch it.

dpmba330.png
Flygon (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Naughty nature (+Atk, -SDef)
- Earthquake
- Outrage
- Fire Blast
- U-turn

I had ScarfChomp over this before I revamp it. I'm using Flygon and not Mence because I need a Ground/Dragon Poke fpr this team. This thing is really good for scouting. Like sending it on Heatran and U-turn when they switch to a Flygon counter and I switch to that Pokemon's counter. With Outrage now Flygon is useable. At least it can 2 OHKO Blissey now xD. Its really helps this team alot. I use Naughty Nature so it can 2 OHKO Skarmory with Fire Blast, and thats really helpful.

dpmba485.png

Heatran (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Naive nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Fire Blast
- Explosion
- Earth Power
- Hidden Power [Ice]

I had Deoxys over this and I used Doxys as a late game sweeper, I use this as a late game sweeper and a revenge killer. This thing can revenge kill some Swrod Dancers like the popular ones(Lucario and Scizor). Hidden Power is for Salamence and Flygon. Earth Power. And when I send this on a Celebi to kill it I predict a Heatran switch sometimes and I use Earth Power and that really helps. I also can use this to revege kill Salamence when they are stuck on Outrage and kill it with HP Ice. And I can late game sweep with this with Fire Blast after killing all the pokes that resist Fire Blast and Hetran counters. Explosion for Blissey or Gyrados sometimes.

dpmba376.png

Metagross @ Choice Band
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 236 HP/252 Atk/20 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Meteor Mash
- Explosion
- Thunderpunch
- Earthquake/Bullet Punch

Since this team is weak to Bulky waters this thing can give a great help to this team with Thunderpunch. This team have problems with Bulky Water Pokes, so I send this on them and Thunderpunch. 20 EV's in speed to outspeed Skarmory and CB Tyranitar. Pursuit is there to Pursuit Blissey's after sleeping them with Gengar. Meteor Mash is a great STAB move, it can dominate after killing the steel types or anything that resist Meteor Mash. Explosion is a realy strong move it can take out alot of things.

Changes in Bold

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Threat list:

Empoleon: Agility Empoleon can rape this team after 1 Agility, the only way to take it out is sacrificing 1 Poke and then kill it with ScarfFlygon.

Salamence: DD Salamence give me problems the only way to take it out is Sending Gyra on it and force them to Outrage and I go to Metagross or I let them kill Grados if Metagross is at a low health or dead and revenge kill it with Heatan.

The biggest benefit of using Infernape as a lead is its capabilities as an anti-lead. The set you are currently using really doesn't use ape to the fullest, and so maybe consider replacing it with the standard leadape:

Infernape @ Focus Sash
Naive
4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe

- Fake Out
- Fire Blast
- Stealth Rock
- Close Combat

Several reasons to use this over your current lead. Firstly, Fake Out will help you take on those Azelf and Aerodactyl leads (you said they gave you trouble) a lot easier by breaking sashes. Fire Blast > Flamethrower really for a higher chance to KO Azelf after Fake Out, which Flamethrower has no chance of doing. It also means you can OHKO Bronzong who don't invest too heavily in SpD and get an OHKO on a 4 HP Jirachi. Close Combat is preferred over Brick Break as Brick Break will never OHKO a 252 HP Tyranitar, whereas Close Combat guarantees this.

A lot of your team has difficulty taking on opposing bulky waters, meaning they will slow down the pace of your attack and can usually mean that you won't be able to get enough damage in on the opposing team to sweep late game. There are a couple of small changes we can do to help your team take on things like Vaporeon, Swampert and Suicune. Like you rightfully said, Sub Hypnosis Gengar really lost a lot of viability in the transition, and I think Thunderbolt would be a really nice asset to have on your Gengar to take on the aforementioned waters. Perhaps consider replacing Hypnosis with Thunderbolt, or even just screw Sub altogether, give it a Life Orb and Explosion. The increase in the damage output is considerable, and it means you don't have to even bother wasting time Pursuiting Blissey when you can just blow up in its face. I think a Life Orb set with Shadow Ball, Focus Blast, Thunderbolt and Explosion, with a Hasty nature, would fit in really well on here.

You have 3 choice users on your team, which personally I would avoid (especially having 2 scarfers). Heatran, I think, would benefit a lot more by using a SubToxic set instead of scarf:

Heatran @ Shuca Berry / Expert Belt
Naive
4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe

- Substitute
- Toxic
- Fire Blast
- Earth Power

This set will let you take on bulky waters a lot easier too, by luring them into a suspected Fire attack, only to be faced with a sub and the prospect of being Toxiced. Shuca Berry or Expert Belt is preferred to Leftovers simply to allow you to feign a scarf set, meaning it is a lot easier to draw in waters. Leftovers are a dead giveaway to your set once you've switched in on SR.

Finally, have you considered using a CB Scizor in place of your Metagross? It can use a much stronger Pursuit, and works really well in conjunction with a Flygon (plus its one less ground weak for a team with 3 already). Its U-turn is also very efficient at scouting (as well as getting a solid hit in) and will allow you to keep up your offensive momentum. The real draw, however, is Bullet Punch. Priority means that to take on things like DD Salamence you don't have to risk the speed tie with your Flygon. I would recommend you use a set with 200 HP / 252 Atk / 56 Spe, giving you the jump on Skarmory (since Bullet Punch is an OHKO on DD Tyranitar, the only version that would be faster than this), and gives you a decent amount of bulk to abuse Scizor's resistances. The moves I would suggest are Bullet Punch, Superpower, U-turn and Pursuit. Scizor does aggravate your Gyarados weakness a bit, so if you decide to go with Scizor, go with Stone Edge over Fire Blast and Adamant over Naughty on Flygon.

Good luck with your team.

If he's planning on using his Gengar to hit the bulky waters, wouldn't Energy Ball > Thunderbolt (especially for Pert)?

I'll go with that anti-lead ape I guess since they rarely lead with DS now. And I'll change that to a Life Orb Gengar. But I'll keep the ScarfTran because if Gyrados was at 75% or 50% SD Lucario can sweep this team after 1 SD if that isn't a ScarfTran. If I change Metagross to a Scizor I will have more problems with bulky waters, so I'll keep Metagross and Change Pursuit to EQ since I don't need Pursuit anymore with Life Orb Gengar, or Bullet Punch can work. I still think Fire Blast on Flygon is better than Stone Edge since I can 2 OHKO Skarmory with it.

Very quickly to build on LR's post infernape works really nicely with the use of overheat on the lead set overheat does a load of damage to everything has higher accuracy and is generally great especially on a suicidal hard hitting pokemon like ape.

Overheat>Fire Blast

-Use Naive nature over Hasty for your Gengar. It lets it take less damage from random priority attacks.

-Lower Gyarados' Speed EVs down to 168 to outspeed base 130s. (220 if ur scared of lulz Electrodes NOT RECCOMMENDED).

On the other hand, to better handle the Garchomp change, you could change Flygon to Salamence and Gyarados to CB Swampert.

If you read what I wrote about Flygon and Gyrados you'd know why I use max speed Gyra and Flygom not Mence.
Mamoswine can be pain in the ass for this team, I have to predict really well against it. Thats one reason for running Jolly nature over Adamant.
I can outspeed Jolly Mamoswine with max speed and I can make it 248 EV's, 4 HP EV's won't help alot and I want to be in a seed tie with the other Jolly Gyras so I use max speed.

I'm using Flygon and not Mence because I need a Ground/Dragon Poke fpr this team.
I really need an Electric immunity, if I use Pert over Gyra, Mamoswine will be a bigger problem.
