Mega Latios uses its superb Special Attack, great typing and bulk, and amazing coverage to become a threatening special sweeper capable of switching into and threatening Pokemon like Ogerpon-W, Mega Charizard Y, and Toxapex. Aura Sphere takes out Pokemon that would normally switch into Luster Purge like Melmetal, Heatran, and Samurott-Hisui, and threatens Pursuit users like Kingambit, Weavile, and Mega Tyranitar on the switch. Mystical Fire helps with Steel-types unfazed by Aura Sphere, such as Mega Scizor and Gholdengo, and it also hits Ferrothorn harder. Draco Meteor picks up KOes against Dragon-types like Dragonite, Roaring Moon, and Raging Bolt and is Mega Latios's strongest option against Pokemon like Gliscor and Ogerpon-W. Ice Beam can deal with other Dragon-types without dropping Mega Latios's Special Attack while also hitting Flying-types like Landorus-T and Tornadus-T.

While Mega Latios fits on a variety of teams from offense to balance, it fits best with teammates that appreciate Mega Latios breaking down Pokemon like Alomomola, Toxapex, Moltres, and Galarian Slowking for them to sweep later in the game. Examples of Pokemon that appreciate these defensive staples getting broken down are Volcarona, Cinderace, Urshifu-R, and Zamazenta. The latter two also stonewall Kingambit, Mega Tyranitar, and Weavile, (AC) which would normally come in and Pursuit trap it. These same Pursuit trappers are also great teammates, as they can trap Pokemon like Gholdengo and opposing Mega Latios, while Mega Latios can weaken Mega Charizard Y and Ogerpon-W for them to wreak havoc. Even with Aura Sphere, Mega Latios can struggle with Steel-types like Assault Vest Melmetal, Heatran, and Gholdengo and Mega Scizor if not running Mystical Fire, so teammates like Great Tusk, Moltres, and Ting-Lu should be considered; Great Tusk and Ting-Lu in particular can set up hazards to chip down Pokemon like Melmetal and Heatran into range of Mega Latios's attacks. Since Mega Latios is a very good check to Pokemon like Mega Charizard Y, Ogerpon-W, and Great Tusk, Pokemon that appreciate these being chipped down, like Cinderace, Landorus-T, and Tapu Koko, (AC) make great teammates. In return, these teammates can easily bring in Pokemon such as Alomomola and Ferrothorn, allowing Mega Latios easy access to wreak havoc on the opposing team. Ferrothorn itself is a great partner for Mega Latios, as it can deal with faster threats such as Iron Valiant, as well as Choice Scarf Pokemon like Tapu Lele and Hisuian Samurott.

Might be worth mentioning which mons get smacked by meteor, lando comes to mind but its ur hardest vs pon chomp and bolt as well Flip Turn is a niche move that can be used to gain momentum and lure in checks like Kingambit and Ferrothorn for teammates.

Great Tusk and Ting-Lu in particular can set up hazards to chip down Pokemon like Melmetal and Heatran into range of Mega Latios’s attacks. Great Tusk in particular, along with Gliscor and Terapagos can also provide hazard removal, as Mega Latios is susceptible to getting chipped down into range of opposing attacks due to switching, especially if running Flip Turn. Latios is really only annoyed by rocks so removal is not particularly mandatory for it, I would rather mention how Latios is a great offesive check to stuff like Zardy and Waterpon, so stuff that gets hampered by them usually make good teammates. I’d also mention Kingambit and maybe Weavile, they trap Ghold and opposing Latis which can open this set up alot more nd they appreciate Latios beating ZardY and Tran

These Pokemon can also lure in these threats for Mega Latios to come in and threaten them out, and can potentially form a VoltTurn core with these Pokemon if running Flip Turn. Since we nuked Flip turn you can change this line up a bit Latios itself does benefit from Volt turn so you can definitely mention that here. Additionally, mega lati also doesn’t like facing faster threats like Tapu Koko and Choice Scarf Sam be sure to mention Ferrothorn as a partner (it checks these threats).
