ORAS NU Rotom-Fan + Friends!

OK, this is my first time EVER posting an RMT, so please accept any mistakes or whatever.
I've been recently using a new NU team that has been somewhat successful so far, but obviously it needs improvements.

rotom-fan.gif

I'm A Fan! (Rotom-Fan) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Will-O-Wisp
- Pain Split
- Air Slash
- Volt Switch
Rotom-Fan is the main player for the team. Its wonderful typing checks/counters threats to this team, such as Scyther, Hariyama, Xatu, Torterra, Steelix, Cacturne, Pinsir, Swellow, Gurdurr, and to some extent Tauros, Klinklang, Lilligant, Vileplume, Mawile, Malamar, Electrivire, Combusken, Golurk, and Kangaskhan. If that is not impressive, I don't know what is. Rotom is specially defensive since W-O-W allows it to deal with a wide variety of physical threats, while Poliwrath handles stronger opponents, thus allowing Rotom to take on even more offensive Pokemon reliably. Will-O-Wisp is used to burn phsical attackers, pain split is to increase HP or punish opponents with full investment in theirs. Air Slash hurts fighting, bug, and grass type opponents. Volt Switch gains necessary momentum.

poliwrath.gif

Immature (Poliwrath) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Circle Throw
- Scald
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
Poliwrath is the second defensive Pokemon with a very special role. Its typing blocks almost everything that the rest of the team cannot. Ice, Bug, Fire, Rock, Steel, Dark, and a water immunity is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! Also, circle throw is very useful for annoying dangerous set up sweepers, such as Klinklang and Malamar. Scald is used for the burn chance, and nothing more. The rest talk combination is needed to keep Poliwrath alive, as well as healing it from dangerous status conditions that no other team member wants to take. Leftovers is the preferred item choice, and Water Absorb is a neat ability for a defensive wall to have.

torterra.gif

Atlas (Torterra) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Overgrow
EVs: 252 HP / 128 Atk / 128 Def
Adamant Nature
- Wood Hammer
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Synthesis
Hazards are extremely useful for this team, as it has a phazing Pokemon as well as strong offensive threats. Torterra's bulk and investment can get this job done easily. It has a great match up against other SR setters, like Steelix and Omastar (And non Fire Blast Mawile. lol). Its dual STAB moves are both very powerful, and Synthesis is used for longevity.

jynx.gif

Sheniqua (Jynx) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Dry Skin
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Ice Beam
- Psyshock
- Focus Blast
- Trick
Sheniqua is an absolute savage against the NU tier. What can reliably switch into it without losing major HP (Besides Mega Audino)? Jynx's STAB moves and stats are so good for its role. Ice Beam hits opponents on the special side, while Psyshock hits them physically. Psyshock is for Hariyama, Magmortar, Mismagius, and specially defensive Vileplume. Focus Blast hurts steel and potential dark switch ins, while Trick cripples defensive Pokemon that Jynx somehow can't handle (Besides Mega Audino). Choice scarf allows Jynx to surprise naturally faster threats that would enjoy OHKOing it (Hi Sceptile). Standard EVs and ability.

latest

RU Material ;) (Audino-Mega) (F) @ Audinite
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpA
Bold Nature
- Calm Mind
- Wish
- Protect
- Dazzling Gleam
Mega Audino is honestly RIDICULOUS. With access to Wish and CM, it is a huge threat once it sets up. This one is defensive to make late game setting up easier. Regenerator before mega evolving is a must. Dazzling Gleam is basic STAB. Wish can be very useful to help out the rest of the team before using CMs.

kangaskhan.gif

G'day Mate (Kangaskhan) @ Silk Scarf
Ability: Scrappy
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Fake Out
- Double-Edge
- Sucker Punch
- Earthquake
Some might say that Tauros completely overshadows Kangaskhan (I agree to some extent), but there are two things that Tauros doesn't have. Priority and Scrappy. The Fake Out and Sucker Punch can easily destroy weakened, and/or frail Pokemon. Silk Scarf Double-Edge hits like a truck and usually one shots offensive Pokemon that don't resist it, and two shots defensive Pokemon that don't resist it. Can Tauros do that? Scrappy allows Fake Out KOs on weakened Rotom-Basic and Mismagius. Jolly nature with max speed is preferred.

So, I have noticed some flaws that hold this team back. Please point out any others.
  • No Hazard control
  • Heavy reliance on Rotom-Fan
  • Special set up sweepers
  • Swellow
  • Mega Audino
  • Freeze Dry
  • Choice Band or Specs users
  • Pursuit trapping Skuntank
  • Archeops
Here are some replays that might help you in some way, or showcase how bad I am at Pokemon. Either way enjoy :D.

Thank you all who have read this RMT and watched the replays. Please give suggestions as well as EVs and etc. I will most likely reply if I agree that a given suggestion works for my team. I appreciate it and goodbye. :D

Hi DavidDMS, this is a pretty solid balance team as is right now so not bad. I do agree that hazards pressure your team a lot as do some stronger wallbreakers like Specs Swellow. Because of that, I think adjusting your defensive core of Poliwrath / Torterra / Audino to better match up versus the meta in its present state is the best course of action.

    - A change of Ferroseed over Torterra still gives you a rocker that matches up well against other stealth rock users. A set of Gyro Ball / Leech Seed / Protect / Stealth Rock with a spread of 248 hp / 148 defense / 112 sp def with a Relaxed nature functions as a more reliable normal check than Torterra and still manages to pair up pretty well with mega Audino since the two have pretty amazing type synergy.

    - With Ferroseed offering more insurance versus water types, I think replacing Poliwrath with specially offensive Skuntank is very beneficial as it gives you a reliable defogger that can not only help support jynx and rotom with hazard removal, but it also weakens normal checks so that Kanga can become a lot more threatening.
  • With the bigger changes out of the way, some smaller changes I would recommend would be to give Rotom a defensive spread to better handle fighting types and to run a more specially defensive set on Mega Audino to better handle strong specially offensive wallbreakers like Magmortar and Aurorus. A simple spread of 248 hp / 252 defense / 8 sp defense and 248 hp / 8 defense / 252 special defense respectively will work for both. If that sounds confusing then just use the importable I'll leave below.
  • Finally, some useful but not mandatory changes would be to try Lovely Kiss > Trick on Scarf Jynx and Facade > Double Edge on Kangaskhan. The first change gives you a way to safely escape pursuit trappers like Skuntank by putting them to sleep while Facade on Kanga lets you punish wisp users who think that's all it'll take to cripple Kanga. Just some things worth trying out.
