[Overview]
-With its great typing, access to a plethora of status moves, its ability in Levitate, and Volt Switch Rotom-W stands out as a good defensive Pivot in the metagame, checking a plethora of common Pokemon such as Tornadus-T, Scizor, Corviknight, Excadrill, and Heatran.

-Rotom-W sets itself apart from other bulky Water-types such as Toxapex and Tapu Fini with being able to pivot reliably with Volt Switch.

-Rotom-W can reliably threaten common Defoggers such as Tornadus-T, Corviknight, and Skarmory with threatening them with a strong Volt Switch or crippling status moves.

-Rotom-W's access to annoying status moves such as Will-O-Wisp and Thunder Wave allow it to cripple common Pokemon in the metagame such as Rillaboom, Kartana, and Clefable.

-Rotom-W's limited access to recovery leaves it prone to getting worn down easily over the course of the game, especially if it lacks Pain-Split.

-While Rotom-W has a great defensive typing, its still vulnerable to getting worn down by status conditions such as Toxic by common Pokemon it attempts to check such as Heatran, Landorus-T, and Excadrill, which results into its longevity being limited in the process.

[SET]
name: Defensive
move 1: Volt Switch
move 2: Hydro Pump
move 3: Pain Split / Defog
move 4: Will-O-Wisp / Thunder Wave
item: Leftovers
ability: Levitate
nature: Bold
evs: 252 HP / 168 Def / 88 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

-Hydro Pump is its main way of hitting Pokemon immune to its Electric-type attacks such as Zeraora.

-Pain Split can recover up its HP stat, especially on specially defensive walls such as Blissey and Clefable, it can recover an enormous amount of health due to their natural high HP stat.

-Defog removes entry hazards and is a great choice on Rotom-W, as it is able to threaten common Stealth Rock users such as Landorus-T, Heatran, and Hippowdon.

-Will-O-Wisp is great to severely punish switch-ins such as Rillaboom, Kartana, and Ferrothorn, as for the former two their wallbreaking potential gets severely weakened and for the latter its great to negate its recovery with Leftovers.

-Thunder Wave is a way to cripple Clefable, as it isn't bothered by a burn due to Will-O-Wisp resulting into that Clefable can't perform its roles reliably.

-Leftovers is the item of choice, as it grants Rotom-W with overall longevity, while performing its role as a defensive pivot.

-88 Speed EVs are used to outrun Adamant natured Scizor.

-A more specially defensive EV spread can be used to check Pokemon such as Tornadus-T and Nidoking better.

teammates:

-Rotom-W fits best on bulky offensive structures, which are in need of a consistent pivot with supportive tools like Defog to clear the field of entry hazards.

-Rotom-Ws weakness to strong Grass-types like Rillaboom and Kartana leaves it very helpless, therefore teampartner like Tornadus-T fits well with Rotom-W, as it helps Rotom-W's weakness with both these Grass-types; in return Rotom-W can reliably check troublesome Pokemon for Tornadus-T such as Heatran and Excadrill under sand.

-Rotom-W and Landorus-T fit well together, as they can form a VoltTurn Core; Rotom-W can come in on Pokemon Landorus-T struggles with such as Corviknight and Skarmory to pressure them throughout the game and to help Landorus-T with laying down Stealth Rocks, Landorus-T can check Zeraora and Tapu Koko for Rotom-W. Both Rotom-W and Landorus-T can check Heatran and Excadrill together.

-Ferrothorn and Rotom-W build up a great core with good synergy, Ferrothorn dislikes Heatran so Rotom-W makes for an excellent partner here. Ferrothorn can help in checking Rillaboom, Tapu Koko, and Tapu Lele for Rotom-W. Both form a great core, as thy can share the Pokemon which they check such as Landorus-T, Hippowdon, and Slowking.

-Rotom-W and Clefable are excellent teammates with Rotom-W bringing Clefable safe in with Volt Switch and Clefable checking Pokemon, which Rotom-W dislikes such as Kyurem and Dragapult. Rotom-W in return can help out with dangerous Steel-types such as Melmetal.

-Scizor stands out as an exceptional teampartner, as it is able to fend of Rillaboom, Kartana, Kyurem, and Tapu Lele which are all highly dangerous for Rotom-W and is therefore an appreciated partner. Rotom-W in exchange checks dangerous Flying- and Fire-types for Scizor like Tornadus-T, Landorus-T, and Heatran.

-Choice Specs Dragapult likes Rotom-Ws ability to spread status with ease to gain an advantage out of this to power up its own Ghost-Type STAB Hex or to threaten Steel-types such as Ferrothorn and Magnezone with a boosted Flamethrower for Rotom-W. Rotom-W can bring in Dragapult safely with Volt Switch.

Other Options
====

-Toxic can be used instead to catch Zapdos, Tangrowth, and Gastrodon, as it limits their longevity severely and dismantles their ability to pivot consistently. But it comes at the opportunity cost of its other status conditions, which are much more favorable to lure in threats such as Rillaboom and Kartana.

-A Choice Scarf set with Trick can be used, if the team desperately needs speed control and Trick can be used to cripple special walls such as Blissey to make it useless for the rest of the game, but it comes at the cost of its item slot in Leftovers, which guarantees Rotom-W much needed longevity.

Checks and Counters
====

**Zeraora**: Zeraora is annoying for Rotom-W due to its ability to hinder it gaining momentum with Volt Switch due to its ability in Volt Absorb. But Zeraora has to be cautious with switching into Rotom-W, as it can either dish out a strong Hydro Pump or a Will-O-Wisp into its direction.

**Grass-types**: Rillaboom and Kartana are very threatening to Rotom-W, as they can just outright OHKO it with their strong Grass-type STAB moves. Ferrothorn and Tangrowth fear little from Rotom-W, as they can use Power Whip and Giga Drain respectively to wear it down, the former can also use Leech Seed to take advantage of a forced switch, while both Ferrothorn and Tangrowth are able to remove its item with Knock Off. However, all of them have to fear a burn or a paralysis, as that hinders them to perform their roles properly.

**Gastrodon**: While not being that common Gastrodon can wall Rotom-W entirely due to its great typing and ability in Storm Drain. However, it can't come in freely on a Will-O-Wisp or Toxic, as it hinders its longevity severely, especially the latter status forces more use of Recover.

**Dragon-types**: Hydreigon and Kyurem can use Rotom-W as setup fodder, but they have to be careful about getting potentially crippled by status conditions, as it limits them severely in their role.

**Knock Off**: Rotom-W has to be careful about switching into Knock Off, as the disposal of its item means its longevity is cut down short.

Why is it such a great pivot? Explain how it can freely use volt switch since most electric immune pokemon dont like getting statused or hydro pumped.

No need to mention defoggers in general since Rotom-W doesnt directly benefit from it, mention flying types in general also Skarmory is not a defogger, and Volt Switch isnt that reliable since most defoggers can live it and shrug it off with either Roost or Regenerator while also being able to Defog since there isnt the threat of an electric type on the field.

-Rotom-W's access to annoying status moves such as Will-O-Wisp and Thunder Wave allow it to cripple common Pokemon in the metagame such as Rillaboom, Kartana, and Clefable. Ok it basically never uses status on Kartana, so remove that, and mention how its status can help it make progress in a game without having to predict much.

-Rotom-W's limited access to recovery leaves it prone to getting worn down easily over the course of the game, especially if it lacks Pain-Split. Probably Rephrase this as, "Its over reliance on Pain Split for recovery, is hindering because it can lead to it being worn down easily", and then mention that it's worse if it chooses to run a set lacking Pain Split

-While Rotom-W has a great defensive typing, its still vulnerable to getting worn down by status conditions such as Toxic by common Pokemon it attempts to check such as Heatran, Landorus-T, and Excadrill, which results into its longevity being limited in the process.

-Hydro Pump is its main way of hitting Pokemon immune to its Electric-type attacks such as Zeraora and Landorus-T. Mentioning a Ground-type here is important imo.
Threaten how?
-Will-O-Wisp is great to severely punish switch-ins such as Rillaboom, Kartana, and Ferrothorn, as for the former two their wallbreaking potential gets severely weakened and for the latter its great to negate its recovery with Leftovers. Kartana doesnt like switching into Washtom not only cause of the threat of a burn or a Paralyse theres also the fact that it can get Volt Switched on and take about 45%, or get Hydro Pumped and take about 50%, Rillaboom also doesnt like switching in cause of a possible burn, mention something like Tangrowth instead.
-Thunder Wave is a way to cripple Clefable, as it isn't bothered by a burn due to Will-O-Wisp resulting into that Clefable can't perform its roles reliably. It can also bother Heatran or defensive dnite or Tornadus-T. This needs more examples is what I'm trying to say, just saying Clefable doesnt give me much incentive to use Thunder Wave over Will-O-Wisp.
-Leftovers is the item of choice, as it grants Rotom-W with overall longevity, while performing its role as a defensive pivot.
-88 Speed EVs are used to outrun Adamant natured Scizor. Mention why this is important.

If I want a consistent pivot I'll just use Mandibuzz or Corviknight, what niche does Rotom-W have that makes it stand out between all the good pivots that are available. You can mention this like " X fits best on Bo structures which are in need of a consistent pivot able to do ABC"
Mention defensive Flying-types in general since most of them can check offensive Grass-types.
This implies that those two can check Rotom-W which they cannot.
LandorusT doesnt act as a Flying-type, if you want to mention it mention it as a Ground-type instead.

Ok a few things about this section, it's very large and rather repetitive, you keep mentioning pokemon that can help with Ice-,Grass-, and other special threats, a better way to format this while also making it a bit less repetitive and long would be to make it like " Rotom w pairs well with bulky steels like bla that help with offensive grasses, and then a section about it pairing well with special walls like bla bla that help with special threats like kyurem and Tapu lele, and then mention offensive partners that benefit from its presence.

Mention how this can leave it unable to check things reliably.

Zeraora isnt a good check since it cant switch into any of its moves safely barring Volt Switch or Defog.

Gastrodon is uncommon and doesnt need it's own point.

Mention how this can end up happening, eg. It switching into Tornadus-T.

Add a point about status conditions.
