Team Building

icon212.gif

From the Start, I knew I wanted these two in my team, because of there SDing power's. Both are highly capable, and highly frustrating. This gave me a Fire/Ground weakness, so;

So I added Starmie, good in both SpA, and SpD, and will always keep the opponent guessing. By throwing in surf, I can do some pretty good damage into most Fire, Ground, Rock and Steel Pokemon. It'll also keep the Opponent Guessing what's comig next. With Starmie in the team though, I had to have a pokemon covering up my Electric/Grass weakess, I now somewhat gave myself.

Thus bringing me to a personal favorite, Gliscor.
Being able to absorb all Electric attacks, being able to wipe out grass pokemon with ease, as well as great coverage, Gliscor just fits. However, if I don't teach him a Dark move, I may have trouble with Psychic pokemon, so;

I threw in one of my favorite dark pokemon, Honchkrow. Most dark pokemon create a big fighting weakness in my team, so I though i'll chuck in a pokemon that will hinder that fighting edge others will have over me. I then thought I may need a Pokemon to help me "rip" through teams, so;

I know that T-Tar can give a lot of teams grief. I also know that This gives me a fighting weakness. I'm hoping that Honchkrow and Gliscor can help here. T-Tar is a personal favorite of mine.

Although I like this team, i'm a bit sad I couldn't slide in my Furret or Pachirisu. :( Oh well. Also, i'm looking for these both in shiny.
Furret - Jolly
Pachirisu - Calm

(Pref untouched, that would meant shiny Sentret :))

I do have an untouched Mew I am willing to trade for them. (I did give it TM's but no training has been done)

In Depth

Lucario @ Life Orb
Inner Focus
Adamant / Jolly
252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe

Swords Dance
Close Combat
ExremeSpeed
Earthquake / Stone Edge / Ice Punch / Crunch

Stolen from Smogon, I love this set. I'm still not sure on which nature, But that's why you're here :)

As for the moveset, I still can't decide on the last move. Here is my reasoning.
EQ - Will come in handy against many annoying leads (Metagross, Heatran, Steelix, even Roserade)
Stone edge - I prefer EQ, but I've had Stone Edge come in hande before, but with next to no flying weakness in this team I don't really see the point.
Ice Punch - Comes in handy agaisnt Salamance, Dragonite, Garchomp and most flying pokemon. I prefer this over Stone Edge.
Crunch - You never know when someone will throw a Ghost at you, or even a Psychic.

Please Help with that move selction.

scizor-f.png

Scizor @ Life Orb
Technician
Adamant
32 HP / 252 Atk / 224 Spe

Swords Dance
Bullet Punch
Brick Break / Superpower
Bug Bite / Roost / Quick Attack

With this move-set, I again stole it from smogon.
However, this time I have no idea what to do. I know that I love priority moves, because they always save me, but i'll need help here.

Naturally, I have SD here, as well as Bullet Punch. Bullet Punch will deal with the Rock Type Pokemon that will take out my flying pokemon, and then so will Brick Break (If I know I can hit first), and as for the last move, I have no idea >=O

121.png

Starmie @ Something that raises SpA, but no locking in.
Natural Cure
Modest
252 Spa / 126 Spe / 126 SpD

Surf
Ice Beam
Grass Knot
Light Screen

Here, is a move-set and EV list I think I made (Someone else may have and I didn't see it) Surf, is for all Rock, Fire, Steel, Ground, and others, Ice Beam for Flying and Grass, and Grass Knot for Rock pokemon, as well as "Bigger" pokemon. Light Screen to mess with people, because I don't see very many ThunderPunches these days.

472.png

Gliscor @ Leftovers
Sand Veil / HyperCutter
Impish
252 HP / 40 Def / 216 Spe

Earthquake
Roost
Stealth Rock / Stone Edge
Aerial Ace

Pretty Standard, EQ to own Electric Pokemon, Roost to heal, I can't tell with the third move, because I wasn't really planning on using him as a lead, but who knows? And Aerial Ace for the dreaded grass Pokemon I'm going to possibly have trouble with.

435.png

Honchkrow @ Scope Lens
Super Luck
Adamant / Jolly
4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe

Sucker Punch
Drill Peck
Night Slash
Super Power

A set with high attack base, and with high Critical Hit Ratio. Pretty Deadly on most occasions. This set I didn't even mean to use while I was playing through my Diamond (minus EV's)

248.png

Tyranitar @ Leftovers
Sand Stream
Adamant
6 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe

Dragon Dance
Crunch
Stone Edge
Aqua Tail

I'm not all that happy with this set, i'd really like help with it.

I like this team though, All help that you can give me I would love. Thanks.

Also, I'm looking for;
Shiny Sentret / Furret (Untouched) - Jolly
Shiny Pachirisu (Untouched) - Calm
I have an untouched Mew that I will trade for these.

This is really a sweet team, though I want to suggest this set on starmie...
Starmie@Wise glasses(The item your looking for)
Surf/ Rapid Spin/ Thunderbolt/ Recover
Timid Nature
136 HP / 156 Def / 216 Spe

This starmie is really sweet, not only you have an instant Gyarados counter, you have a rapid spinner and a status absorber(Natural cure)...and on Gliscor use Stealth rock..You'll need it, and on Tyranitar...Try CB set..overall Sweet team!!

Just some suggestions
Hope this helps...
Good luck in your future battles dude!!

Why are you running Lategame Lucario in your lead position? It's just asking for your opponent to switch to Gliscor, threaten you out, and set up Rocks for free while you waste turns Sword Dancing.

I'd put Gliscor in your lead, and run U-Turn or Taunt over Aerial Ace, for countering other leads and scouting. Aerial Ace is only good against Hera, who doesn't see play anymore. Alternatively, anti-lead Starmie is quite good.

Thanks for the help, I'll change Gliscor for that and set him up as my lead, So I can SR, and go from there. I didn't honesly think about U-Turn, so thanks.
@WoOoShoOo!! - I'm happy with my Starmie, and without Grass Knot, I don't have much to take out the water "Beasts". I could throw in T-Bolt instead of Light Screen Though.

I agree, or you can opt for the anti-lead lucario:

Lucario @ focus sash/ lonely/ inner focus (0 Def IV's)
4 HP, 252 Atk, 252 Spe

- Counter
- Close Combat
- Extreme Speed
- Crunch

--> A combination of Close Combat and Extreme speed kill a lot of Leads (eg. Infernape, Aerodactyl), while crunch is a 2HKO on Azelf.
Minimal defense to make counter as strong as possible.

Hope that helped!

If you have a fighting weakness the worst thing to do is put a T-tar to cover that weakness. Get a salamence or a latias in that place.Mix latias will do well on your team.

Latias @lifeorb
252spatk/252speed
timid

thunderbolt
surf
Draco meteor
grass-knot /hidden power fire

Or... you can add Rotom to your team (instead of Starmie), I suggest either the H(eat) or the C(ut) form since you have problems with scizor and Swampert.

Rotom (C-H) @ choice scarf/ timid/ levitate
6 HP, 252 Spe, 252 SAtk

- Thunderbolt
- Shadow Ball
- Trick
- Leaf Storm/ Overheat

--> Simple scarf rotom. It works wonders as a revenge killer or scarf tricker. which form you choose totally depends on who you feared most: Swampert or Scizor.

Thanks. I'll be sure to give it a shot.

@ Fat Curtains -
I'll also be sure to cover up the fighting weakness without T-Tar. I was thinking about changing Starmie to Gyarados, and T-Tar to Salamance at some point anyway. Also, I don't plan on getting a Latias, because I don't have the time to go back through my Emerald / Saphire to find it. Not to mention that she's a roaming pokemon, so I think I don't have much chance.

I suggest going with Earthquake instead of Aqua Tail on the Tyranitar set. th emore pokes with Earthquake, the better!(as you know from my thread)
