Welcome to the second edition of RUGL. After last years succes, RUGL is back to give chance for new community members, fresh talent and others interested in RU to join a RU teamtour. The format discussion is still going on, however manager sign ups are now open!

Managers will be selected by the hosts (me and Feliburn) based on their activity in the RU community, be it in forums or in Discord. Tournament experience will also be taken into consideration, as well as your overall behavior.

Despite an assistant manager being not mandatory, if you're a player with no prior managing experience, you should have someone to help you during the tournament. This will also be taken into consideration when selecting the managers.

Only one of you or your co-manager can self-buy. Prices for self-buys will be listed later in this thread.

RULES:
  • Current managers in RUPL can, however, sign up as players in RUGL
  • Nobody is prevented from signing up for RUGL and we encourage all rookies and vets alike to partake. However:
  • Players already in RUPL are encouraged to sign up for RUGL, but they can't play SV RU in RUGL if they were in their RUPL's team starting lineup for any tier by end of Week 4 RUPL. Subbing in mid-week does not count.
  • For oldgens, players in RUPL can't play an oldgen tier in RUGL for which they have played at least one game for in RUPL by close of RUPL Week 4 (Weeks 5+ do not matter for this). This includes subbing in to play that tier.
The format for this first edition is to be determined but at for sure include at least the following tiers:

SV RU / SV RU / SV RU / SS RU / SM RU / ORAS RU / BW RU / ADV RU (+ ? / ?)

Manager signups will close on Sunday, March 30th. The selected managers will be announced Monday March 31st.

Why would you be a good manager? (Prior experience + any other additional details): Canard and I are both highly active community members and have the combined SV-SS-SM tier knowledge to help support most of the team’s slots, regardless of format. I also have past managerial experience in ZU and have always fielded competitive teams with highly positive team atmospheres, as other RUers who have played on those teams would attest (I hope). Canard is likewise highly motivated, active, and yappy which are good traits for a manager to have because I believe a fun, active, and helpful team server is a prerequisite to bringing out the best in players, which is especially important in a tour like RUGL which is intended to be a showcase for rising talent.

Why would you be a good manager? (Prior experience + any other additional details): Both Sir Tetris and I are active in the RU community. Together, our experience gives us great knowledge of the player base and tiers. I’ve been a manager in other team tours like PTPL, PUWC, and more recently, RUBD. Sir Tetris is a dedicated and skilled member of the QC team. Together, we have everything it takes to make a winning team with an amazing vibe! :)

Why would you be a good manager? We don't have some experience as a manager we just manage some discord tours , but we are very active in the ru community , I have an excellent knowledge of the playerbase whether in sv or in oldgen thanks to the accumulation of replays that I watched on the smogon archives with the ssnls, slams , different rupl etc.
Flab have a good knowledge of the sv playerbase and the newbies players , this is therefore our greatest strength in order to possibly build a draft.
So I think that thanks to this we can be able to manage the rugl.

Why would you be a good manager? (Prior experience + any other additional details): I was UNJUSTLY FORCED by feen into doing so, and I would like to get more experience with managing and touring in general. I'm a voice in the PS RU Room, and also generally active in the community on the discord, room, and forums.

Why would you be a good manager? (Prior experience + any other additional details): Both Daharan and I have absolutely 0 experience as manager, we just both play SV RU and are active in the RU community. However we're still a better choice than Flabof so pick us, don't worry it's gonna be fine.
