ORAS OU Sableye Stall Friends

Hey smogon people, I just wanted to share a pretty decent stall team that actually works in this meta and doesn't use mega bro. I'm currently #86 on the ORAS ladder with this team, but I feel like it has some flaws that I can't figure out. Without further adieu, let's get to the actual team.

(Prentend this is mega)
Sableye_XY.gif

Sableye @ Sableite
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Calm Mind
- Will-O-Wisp
- Dark Pulse
- Recover
The star of the team. Everyone knows why mega Sableye is such an awesome mon in this meta. Magic bounce, big defense, reliable recovery, prankster before mega evolving, will-o-wisp, and the ability to set up calm minds on a large portion of the meta are things that you just can't find in any other mon. I decided to use his potential on a stall team because this mon was just made of stall, imo.

Chansey_XY.gif

Chansey (F) @ Eviolite
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Def / 252 SpD
Bold Nature
- Soft-Boiled
- Seismic Toss
- Stealth Rock
- Heal Bell

Basically here to provide special bulk, stealth rock and heal bell so my team can't get status stalled. Chansey is an amazing mon and fits on just about any stall or bulky offense team.

Porygon2_XY.gif

Porygon2 @ Eviolite
Ability: Trace
EVs: 252 HP / 104 Def / 152 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Toxic
- Ice Beam
- Thunderbolt
- Recover

I put P2 on this team because he's one of the only mons that can actually beat mega mence. He's good because he's bulky af, but I'll probably replace him once mence gets banned since two eviolite normals is kinda redundant.

Bolt beam coverage because it works well for P2. Recover because P2 needs it. Toxic to stall and wide things down.

cresselia.gif

Cresselia (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 30 SpA / 30 Spe
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Ice Beam
- Moonlight
- Toxic
Cresselia fits on this team pretty well and is another pokemon that can beat salamence. She can also beat basically every physical and most special threats in the meta, assuming they don't have a super effective move or can set up without getting toxic stalled.

She basically does the same thing as P2, but I gave her hp fire to beat steels like ferro and scissors.
Tentacruel_XY.gif

Tentacruel @ Leftovers
Ability: Liquid Ooze
EVs: 252 HP / 224 SpD / 32 Spe
Calm Nature
- Acid Spray
- Scald
- Rapid Spin
- Knock Off

Tentacruel is here because he synchronizes well with Sableye, typing wise. He resists Sableye's fairy weakness and can eat up strong special hits aimed at sableye. Sable helps tenta since he can take psychic attacks and can take some physical moves aimed at tent.

This is basically the standard set, but using SDef32 speed is used to outspend ttar and bisharp is certain situations. Liquid ooze is to troll leech seed users. Acid spray to win against cm Clef and bro. Scald because scald. Rapid spin for hazard control. Knock of because knock off.

Heatran_XY.gif

Heatran @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 188 SpD / 68 Spe
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Lava Plume
- Taunt
- Roar
- Toxic
Heatran is kinda filler, tbh. He's just here so I could have special bulk and a way to shut down CM clefable. He can also roar out sub salamence, which is kinda nice I guess.

Team strategy: Stall, set up and sweep with sableye if possible.

Other mons that were considered while building this team:

Chesnaught_XY_(3).gif
Too Flying weak
20140404063233!Sylveon_XY.gif
Too not chansey
20140814025601!Ferrothorn_XY.gif
This actually might be a good

choice to replace someone on this team, but I'm too paranoid of all these magnezones running around.

Pokemon that are hard to beat with this team:

1. Diancie (Mega)

None of my pokemon can resist all of its coverage and take its attacks comfortably. Its always a hassle to beat teams that have this mon.

2. Salamence (Mega)

Actually not to hard to beat, but it can wreck if I'm not careful.

3. Sub CM Keldeo.

Keldeo can sweep this team if it gets a few spatk boosts.

4.SD Lum Bisharp.

this set is almost never run, but it will destroy this team if not dealt with properly. It can set up on most of my guys, doesn't need to fear wisp if it has lum. can out speed my entire team if Jolly and sucker punch if adamant. and it can OHKO any of my guys after 2 SDs. I've only seen this set once while running this team, but it 6-0d this team without even trying.

Nice team Karmiyama! This is actually a pretty solid stall team and there's isn't really much that beats it, and you already listed most of the things that do. I do have a few suggestions though :

- This is pretty minor, but I would maybe more physical defense on Tentacruel. The reason for this is that it's your only answer to Azumarill, so you need the physical bulk to take it on. Unfortunately, there's not much you can do if it gets a Belly Drum off besides burn it with Sableye's Priority Wisp and then stall it out, but you do want to be able to take a few Banded Play Roughs which a SpD spread doesn't really enable you to.
- I don't think running HP Fire on Cresselia is a good idea since is so weak that most of its targets, even the 4x weak ones, can take it with ease (Ferrothorn, for instance, takes around 33% from it which can very easily be recovered back with Leech Seed+Leftovers). You're better off switching out to Sableye in most cases, since he is able to beat the vast majority of Steel-types. What I would run is Reflect. Reflect does two things for Cresselia : guarantee that you are able to counter Mega-Salamence (you set up Reflect, recover, and Ice Beam it once you're at full, you can pretty much never lose to it that way), and stops Bisharp from switching in for free and Pursuit trapping Cresselia/pulling off an SD sweep (Hidden Power Fire does less than 40% to it so Reflect is a far better measure against it).
- A few things which threaten your team considerably : You have nothing for Taunt Mega-Gardevoir. Mega-Pinsir is also a big problem for you, since at +2 it 2HKOs Porygon-2 who cannot OHKO back. However, Mega-Salamence's presence in the metagame means you'll rarely see it. Mega-Heracross is also extremely threatening to your team, being able to 2HKO everything on it. Mega-Metagross can be a big problem too depending on what it runs. However, these problems can be fixed quite easily by running Doublade over Heatran. Doublade covers all of these threats, however it requires quite a lot of support to do so, so it may not be ideal.
- Another option, possibly an even better one, is running Skarmory over Heatran. Skarmory also lets you counter Mega-Pinsir and Mega-Metagross, and also deals with both Bisharp and Azumarill quite well. It also can carry SR, which frees a moveslot for Chansey to run Toxic which it would really like to run. The downside to doing this is that you struggle against Mega-Heracross, but it is relatively rare in ORAS, so I wouldn't worry too much.
- Finally, I would highly reccomend Jirachi. Jirachi provides excellent Wish support which your team sorely lacks. It also, much like Heatran, beats Calm Mind Clefable. I think you can actually get away with running it over Porygon-2 and alongside Doublade : Porygon-2 is a bit redundant with Cresselia in all honesty, especially if you run Reflect since you already have a great MMence counter, and since Doubalde isn't really the greatest answer to Mega-Gardevoir (Hyper Voice still does a chunk to the point where you can't repetidely switch in), Jirachi can help take the strain off Doublade in that regard. Jirachi is pretty much a must if you decide to run Skarmory, since otherwise you flat-out lose to Mega-Gardevoir.

So, to sum it up : more physical defense on Tentacruel, Reflect on Cresselia, Doublade or Skarmory over Heatran (I personally prefer the Skarmory option but it's up to you), and Jirachi over Porygon-2. Hope this helps!
