[OVERVIEW]

:ss/Salazzle:

Salazzle's good Speed tier, ability in Corrosion, and solid offensive utility make it a potent support Pokemon in UU. It can outspeed many offensive threats such as Zarude and Azelf, and it takes advantage of defensive staples like Amoonguss, Tangrowth, and Celesteela. The combination of Knock Off and Toxic lets it outlast Pokemon that would otherwise counter it, such as Tentacruel and Nihilego, and open up counters like Hippowdon for teammates. However, due to its weakness to Stealth Rock, Salazzle is forced to run Heavy-Duty Boots as opposed to a power-boosting item, which makes it heavily reliant on chip damage to make an impact. Its poor bulk also leaves it unable to contribute defensively in most games, and its typing makes it susceptible to priority users like Azumarill and Lycanroc-D. Salazzle's frailty also makes it reliant on pivots to safely enter the battlefield. This frailty also deters it from switching directly into most Pokemon it would otherwise check, such as Scizor and Tangrowth, as both carry Knock Off and remove its Heavy-Duty Boots. Therefore, it would rather be preserved as a secondary check to the aforementioned Pokemon. It is also extremely difficult for Salazzle to make progress against bulkier Pokemon like Slowking and Hippowdon, but this doesn't stop it from paving the way for late-game cleaners in the long run.

name: Offensive
move 1: Flamethrower
move 2: Sludge Wave
move 3: Toxic
move 4: Knock Off
item: Heavy-Duty Boots
ability: Corrosion
nature: Timid

[SET COMMENTS]

Salazzle's amazing STAB combination lets it threaten common UU Pokemon including Amoonguss, Celesteela, Scizor, and Primarina. Knock Off makes Salazzle more difficult to pivot around with common checks such as Chansey, Mandibuzz, and Swampert. Toxic alongside Corrosion lets Salazzle cripple switch-ins like Nihilego, Tentacruel, Hippowdon, and Slowking, allowing itself or a teammate to overwhelm them and enhancing its offensive potential. Maximum Speed investment is needed to outspeed offensive threats like Azelf, Zarude, and Cobalion. Heavy-Duty Boots alleviates Salazzle's crippling Stealth Rock weakness and helps with its longevity, giving it more opportunities to enter the field safely.

Salazzle fits best on bulky offense teams that appreciate it heavily chipping the opposing team, paving the way for teammates to break holes with ease. Mamoswine is an excellent partner for Salazzle, beating checks like Chansey and Mandibuzz and wearing down their shared answers in Swampert and Slowking. Chip damage from Stealth Rock setters, such as Nihilego, Cobalion, and Swampert, is valuable to make switching into Salazzle even more of a pain. Knock Off absorbers, such as the aforementioned Cobalion, Amoonguss, and Tangrowth, are all appreciated due to how punishing it is for Salazzle to lose Heavy-Duty Boots. Cobalion in particular can draw in Grass-types to give Salazzle entry points to fire off an attack. Meanwhile, Amoonguss and Tangrowth check Swampert and Azumarill. Thundurus-T and Zarude are great partners, as both offensively pressure Slowking and Swampert while pivoting on Amoonguss and Tangrowth, giving Salazzle safe entry points despite its frailty. Celesteela and Slowking both reliably check Nihilego and Lycanroc-D for Salazzle. Slowking is able to pivot out on Grass-types with Teleport to let Salazzle in. Checks to defensive Scizor like Celesteela, Cobalion, and Salamence all pair well with Salazzle, as it cannot function as the sole Scizor check on most teams. Salamence also appreciates Salazzle wearing down specially defensive Hippowdon and Slowking through Knock Off + Toxic, as this makes it extremely difficult for Scizor to switch into repeated Hurricanes.

Other Options
=============

Dragon Pulse can OHKO Zygarde-10% but should only be used if your team is weak to it. Nasty Plot over Toxic can make Salazzle a threatening wallbreaker or cleaner, but due to its frailty, it struggles to set up because even resisted attacks sting. Substitute + Toxic Salazzle can be annoying, but Salazzle struggles to make an impact when lacking one of its STAB moves, leaving it to pick and choose its good matchups and lose out on valuable utility. Substitute + Toxic also requires very solid entry hazard control, if running Leftovers, and is still vulnerable to sand chip damage. A Choice Specs set has powerful wallbreaking potential, OHKOing threats like Conkeldurr and Thundurus-T from full health, but Salazzle can't follow up with Toxic and becomes weak to Stealth Rock, cutting into its longevity. It is also extremely prediction reliant, heavily limiting its wallbreaking potential against common defensive staples like Slowking and Hippowdon.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Faster Threats and Priority**: Pokemon that commonly run Choice Scarf, such as Hydreigon, Diggersby, and Krookodile, take advantage of Salazzle's extreme frailty and revenge kill it with ease. Priority users like Lycanroc-D and Zygarde-10% revenge kill Salazzle as well.

**Special Walls**: Chansey can switch into Salazzle thanks to its reliable recovery and Natural Cure, proceeding to force Salazzle out. However, it hates taking Knock Off. Mandibuzz, specially defensive Hippowdon, and Nihilego are all able to switch in comfortably; however, they all hate Knock Off and Toxic.

**Water-types**: Water-types such as Slowking, Tentacruel, and Swampert can all switch into Salazzle multiple times but despise taking Toxic. Offensive Water-types such as Crawdaunt and Azumarill both KO it with Aqua Jet.

This is an AMQC check so you do not have to implement it if you do not want to.
Here's a video on how to implement if you wanted to
[OVERVIEW]

:ss/Salazzle:

- Mention its role
-Salazzle's solid Speed tier and ability, Corrosive, as well as its access to Knock Off, let it annoy and wear down Nihilego, Chansey, and other would-be checks.
-It can get the jump on many offensive threats such as Zarude and Azelf, and annoy defensive staples like Amoonguss, Tangrowth, Skarmory, and Celesteela.
-However, due to its weakness to Stealth Rocks, it is forced to run Heavy-Duty Boots (Add Hyphen) as opposed to a power-boosting item, which makes it heavily reliant on chip damage to make an impact.
-Its poor bulk also leaves it unable to contribute defensively in most games, and its typing makes it susceptible to priority users like Azumarill and Crawdaunt.

Paragraph 1
-Salazzle's STAB combination lets it hit most of the tier for at least neutral damage.
-Knock Off removing boots Heavy-Duty Boots from Moltres and Salamence makes it even more difficult to pivot around.
-It also removes Leftovers from Tentacruel and Swampert, leaving them more vulnerable to chip damage throughout the game. (Ideally you're using Toxic on both of these, I'd use Chansey as a better example of what Knock Off cripples)
-Toxic enhances Salazzle's offensive potential, as Poison-types like the aforementioned Tentacruel and Nihilego, as well as Pokemon resistant to its STAB combination, struggle to switch into it repeatedly after being statused.
-252 Special Attack EVs are given to maximize its power, and 252 Speed EVs and a Timid nature are needed to outspeed offensive threats like Azelf, Zarude, and Cobalion.
-Heavy-Duty Boots (AH) alleviate its crippling Stealth Rock weakness and help with it's (RA) longevity.

Paragraph 2
-Salazzle fits best on bulky offense teams that appreciate its ability to heavily chip the opposing team and pave the way for teammates to break holes with ease.
-Due to Salazzle's frailty and reliance on chip damage, Pokemon that can bring it in and deal with its checks are valuable teammates.
-Thundurus-T and Zarude are great partners as both offensively pressure Slowking and Swampert, respectively, as well as pivot out on Amoonguss and Tangrowth to give Salazzle a chance to fire off an attack.
-Offensive Water-types such as Primarina and Crawdaunt appreciate its ability to pressure Grass-types (AH) (Give examples) and heavily wear down opposing water resists (give examples) with Toxic.
-Slowking is also a solid teammate for it, as Future Sight forces in Dark-types such as Mandibuzz, Hydreigon, and Krookodile, as well as bulky special walls like Chansey, which makes it easier to debilitate and wear them down.
- Mention how it appriciates Stealth Rock to further chip opponents
- Mention how it needs Knock Off absorbers, lest it lose its boots

-SubTox Substitute + Toxic Salazzle can be annoying, but struggles to make an impact without one of its STABS, leaving it to pick and choose its good matchups, or sacrifice Knock Off and lose out on valuable utility.
-Choice Specs has some wallbreaking potential, but it is left unable to follow up on a Toxic and becomes weak to Stealth Rocks, cutting into its longevity. Mention how it can OHKO foes such as Thundurus-T and Conkeldurr with its immediate power, something that others sets fail to do
-Nasty Plot can be a somewhat threatening wincon, but due to its frailty, it is often forced to switch out when faced with potential Choice Scarf users and Priority, and still suffers from a crippling Stealth Rock weakness.

Checks and Counters

**Choice Scarf Users**: Pokemon that commonly run Choice Scarf, such as Hydreigon, Diggersby, and Krookodile, all take advantage of its extreme frailty and revenge KO it with ease.

**Bulky Poison-type/Fire-type Resists and Special Walls**: Pokemon that have recovery can switch in on Toxic with much less of a risk and force Salazzle out, such as Slowking and Chansey.

-Knock Off removing Heavy-Duty Boots from Moltres and Salamence makes it even more difficult to pivot around.

- this can be easily condensed into something like "Knock Off makes Salazzle more difficult to pivot around by removing items from checks such as Salamence, Swampert, and Chansey" save the mention of mons that would benefit from this for the teammates section. I used swampert here because it's a pretty common check and you're likely gonna hit them with knock after toxic anyways.

-Toxic enhances Salazzle's offensive potential, as Poison-types like the aforementioned Tentacruel and Nihilego, as well as Pokemon resistant to its STAB combination, struggle to switch into it repeatedly after being statused.

-Spikes and Stealth Rock setters are both valuable teammates for Salazzle, as the added chip damage makes switching into it even more of a pain. examples please, and u'd want this point higher in this paragraph
-Lastly, any sort of Knock Off absorber, such as Cobalion, Amoonguss, and Rocky Helmet Tangrowth are all appreciated, due to how punishing it is for Salazzle to lose Heavy-Duty add some additional information about the synergy, like cobalion drawing in the bulky grass-types so lazzle can come in easier and the grass-types being able to check threats like Azumarill and Lycanroc

-I'd like a line about salazzle's STAB combo, perhaps something along the lines of "Salazzle's fantastic dual STAB combo threatens many common UU staples like Amoonguss, Celesteela, and Primarina"
- Knock Off makes Salazzle more difficult to pivot around common checks such as Chansey, Mandibuzz, Salamence, and Swampert.
-Toxic alongside Corrosive lets Salazzle cripple switch-ins like Nihilego, Tentacruel, and Slowking, allowing Salazzle or a teammate to overwhelm them. enhances Salazzle's offensive potential, as Poison-types like the aforementioned Tentacruel and Nihilego, as well as Pokemon resistant to its STAB combination, struggle to switch into it repeatedly after being statused. reworded this part a bit

-Offensive Water-types such as Primarina and Crawdaunt appreciate its ability to pressure Grass-types such as Tapu Bulu, Amoonguss, and Tangrowth, and heavily wear down opposing water resists like Tentacruel and Hydreigon with Toxic. what do these water-types do for salazzle though? would rather see mentions of celesteela and slowking as defensive backbones to check threats like nihilego and lycanroc-d for jirachi, with slowking also bringing it in with teleport against Grass-types
-Lastly, any sort of Knock Off absorbers, such as Cobalion, Amoonguss, and Rocky Helmet Tangrowth are all appreciated, due to how punishing it is for Salazzle to lose Heavy-Duty Boots. Cobalion in particular is able to draw in Grass-types to give Salazzle entry points to fire off an attack. Meanwhile, Amoonguss and Tangrowth check Swampert and Azumarill.

-Choice Specs has powerful wallbreaking potential, OHKOing threats like Conkeldurr and Thundurus-T from full, some wallbreaking potential, as it can OHKO more of the tier with its immediate power, but it is left unable to follow up on a Toxic and becomes weak to Stealth Rocks, cutting into its longevity.
-Nasty Plot can be a threatening wallbreaker or cleaner, but due to its frailty, it struggles to set up since even resisted attacks sting. is often forced to switch out when faced with potential Choice Scarf users and priority, and still suffers from a crippling Stealth Rock weakness. **Special Walls**: Pokemon such as Slowking and Chansey have reliable recovery, can switch in on Toxic with much less risk, and force Salazzle out. reword this point a bit. Bring up chansey as a switch-in who walls it even after eviolite is gone, but still hates losing the item. also mention galarian moltres, mandibuzz, and nihilego as options to stomach hits, but also say how all hate getting knocked and the latter two dislike toxic.

add a section on water-types. key ones to mention are slowking, tentacruel, and swampert as Pokemon salazzle struggles to beat short term and crawdaunt and azumarill as options to pick it off with aqua jet

With Knock Off and Toxic, it is able to outlast Pokemon that would otherwise counter it, such as Tentacruel and Nihilego. Definitely mention Hippowdon here too, mentioning how Knocking and Toxic'ing it can really open it up even though it still counters salazzle itself. However, due to its weakness to Stealth Rock, it is forced to run Heavy-Duty Boots as opposed to a power-boosting item, which makes it heavily reliant on chip damage to make an impact. Its poor bulk also leaves it unable to contribute defensively in most games, and its typing makes it susceptible to priority users like Azumarill and Lycanroc-D. Salazzle's frailty also makes it reliant on pivots to safely hit the battlefield. can mention a little here about how it doesn't want to attempt to switch into Pokemon it would check like Scizor and Tangrowth due to frailty and knock off + boots weakness here. the frailty is honestly a bit uncomfortable into SD scizor too and it should be more of a secondary check cause of this too. It is also extremely difficult for Salazzle to make progress against bulkier Pokemon like Slowking in the short term, which can hinder the progress it makes. you could bring the hippo point down here instead if you wanted too, and just mention how although lazzle can really struggle to do anything into these Pokemon, it can still potentially open them up for teammates.

You can kinda incorporate pokemon like celesteela, cobalion, Skarmory (spikes to make lazzle go more brr) into this point, as well as bringing up Salamence too. Salamence is a nice example i think would be good to bring up about stuff that appreciate Hippowdon/Slowking being crippled with Knock + Toxic too, makes its job of getting through them much easier.

Mention how its either got to have solid hazard support with it to run Leftovers or lacks any recovery and is vulnerable to sand chip too while doing this. Choice Specs has powerful wallbreaking potential, OHKOing threats like Conkeldurr and Thundurus-T from full, but it is left unable to follow up on a Toxic and becomes weak to Stealth Rocks, cutting into its longevity. However, due to its weakness to Stealth Rock, it Salazzle is forced to run Heavy-Duty Boots as opposed to a power-boosting item, which makes it heavily reliant on chip damage to make an impact. Its poor bulk also leaves it unable to contribute defensively in most games, and its typing makes it susceptible to priority users like Azumarill and Lycanroc-D. Salazzle's frailty also makes it reliant on pivots to safely hit enter the battlefield. This frailty also deters it from switching in directly to directly into most Pokemon it would otherwise check, such as Scizor and Tangrowth, (AC) as both carry Knock Off to and can remove its Heavy-Duty Boots. Therefore, it would rather be preserved as a secondary check to the aforementioned Pokemon. It is also extremely difficult for Salazzle to make short-term progress against bulkier Pokemon like Slowking and Hippowdon in the short term, which, although it hinders the progress it makes, it can still pave the way for teammates to clean up in the late game.
