Sand in my Pokeballs

Putting together a sandstorm team, need more feedback.

Lead:
Tyranitar
Ability: Sandstream
Nature: Adament
EV's: 252 Att 252 Spd 4 Def
Item: Life Orb

Stone Edge
Crunch
Fire Punch
Dragon Dance

Tyranitar starts the sandstream and can be switched out before the first move if there is a threat such as Infernape. I included some solid counters for those who threaten him. Otherwise, if they set-up rocks or spikes and I feel that there is no danger of a fighting move then I could DD and start attacking or I could switch and lay down my own.

Cradily
Ability: Suction Cups
Nature: Adament
EV's: 252 Att 252 Def 4 SDf
Item: Leftovers

Seed Bomb
Stone Edge
Curse
Recover

Cradily and Tyranitar are gonna be hard to take down. The sandstorm ups their already high SPd and with the right stat boosters it can get downright ugly for the other team. Cradily comes in after the arena traps and such have been dispersed by me and procedes to curse a few times and then recover. Seed bomb and stone edge are hard dual stabs only countered by a few typings.

Swampert
Ability: Torrent
Nature: Relaxed
EV's: 252 SDf 252 Def 4 HP
Item: Leftovers

Stealth Rock
Earthquake
Ice Beam
Superpower

Swampert sets up rocks and hits hard against everything. His typing also helps my steel types counter fire and electricity.

Skarmory
Ability: Sturdy
Nature: Adament
EV's: 252 SDf HP Spd 4 Att
Item: Leftovers

Bravebird
Whirlwind
Roost
Spikes

Skarmory comes in either second from tyranitar or third from swampert(preferably third due to the use of whirlwind AFTER stealthrock). Skarmory's job is to lay as many spikes down and then start the whirlwind and recover phaze. Bravebird can hit hard but only if it can finish the pokemon will he use it.

Spiritomb
Ability: Pressure
Nature: Calm
EV's: 252 Def 252 HP 4 SDf
Item: Leftovers

Rest
Sleeptalk
Dark Pulse
Willow-O-Wisp

So, I needed someone to switch DDtar with if there was a fighting move about to land. Spiritomb's immunities are awesome and with this set he doesn't have to worry about the sandstorm too much. Spreading burns and healing himself all the while his ability is draining the opponents PP.

Bronzong
Ability: Levitate
Nature:Adament
EV's: 252 Attack 252 SPd 4 HP
Item: Light Clay

Explosion
Earthquake
Reflect
Light Screen

Bronzong will come in mid-game to lay dual screens and then blow a hole in the other team. Dual screens are going to put even more lasting ability in my team in order to take care of priority threats such as mixape. Considering changing EQ for Safegaurd, not sure yet.

That's my team, wear them down with sandstorm, arena tactics, and status effects. Then, when they are worn down set up a sweeper and lay into them.

Right now I can say that you already have fallen into a trap that many people fall into when they're building a hail or sandstorm team and that's trying to rely to heavily on Pokemon that are immune/benefit from Sandstorm. Right now I can see Infernape wrecking this team, mostly NP variants. Fireblast for Bronzong/Skarmory, Grass Knot for Swampert, Close Combat for Tar, and 'Tomb likely won't stand up well to a NP'ed Fireblast. Might have some problems taking down Cradily, but I'm not so sure of that, I'd have to run some calcs.

I'd suggest switching out Cradily for Tentacruel, Toxic Spike support would help your stall theme maybe, and help to deal with Infernape. I'd switch out Spiritomb for one of the Rotom forms, probably Rotom-W, and maybe switch out Bronzong as well. (no suggestion there, sorry)

On another note, might not want to lead with Tyranitar. He's not a fantastic lead.

[Sorry Haunter, was editing previous post to include above information]

Hi, you really need a water-resist and because you have fallen into the trap of trying to use as many SS-immune Pokemon as possible, you have opened yourself up to a plethora of threats. So please note, I will be making a lot of changes.

Leading with Tyranitar is not a good option. It loses to a number of leads and I doubt it will be getting many sweeps that early in the game. When making a "Sandstorm" team, it isnt actually essential to lead with something that gets the SS going.

Skarmory leads off quite well and gets plenty of opportunities to set up SR vs. Meta, Machamp, Swampert, Hippowdon, Roserade etc etc.

Skarmory @ Lum Berry
Impish | Keen Eye
EVs: 252 HP / 16 Def / 200 SpDef / 40 Spe
Brave Bird / Spikes / Taunt / Roost

This set beats Machamp, Roserade, and Smeargle. Against the first you Spike turn 1. If it stays in, Lum Berry activates and you can Brave Bird the next turn [which will not KO], or you can outright 2HKO with Brave Bird. Against Roserade and SMeargle, you Taunt after they sleep you, and render them Spikes fodder.

Currently your team is incredibly Spikes bait and Skarmory / Forretress can come in on most of your team and set up Spikes all over you. With many of your team being grounded, you do not want this to happen. To solve this weakness, as well as give you a much needed water resist, you should try a Starmie over your Bronzong. Other than setting up screens, Bronzong does not do much for this team, and dual screens are definitely not 100% required. I don't think they suit this team, and although they are good, you don't really have anything abusing them.

Starmie @ Leftovers
Timid | Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 40 Def / 216 Spe
Surf / Thunderbolt / Rapid Spin / Recover

Starmie acts as a nice answer to a number of Pokemon and has the benefit of spinning away hazards and fixes your huge MixApe / Gyarados weakness.

I think Spiritomb should be replaced by Rotom. Rotom can switch into stuff like Offensive Cune more easily who really plague this team, and it has the ability to check Metagross a lot better. Rotom gives you a solid switch into Gyarados, if Starmie has been weakened, and in my opinion fits much more easily. It beats Forretress more comfortably than Spiritomb and has the ability to check Scizor [as currently your best method of dealing with it is Skarmory].

Rotom @ Leftovers
Bold | Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 160 Def / 96 SpA
Thunderbolt / Will-o-wisp / Substitute / Pain Split

I would replace your current Tyranitar set with a ScarfTar. ScarfTar gives you an answer to Gengar, Starmie [looking to spin hazards] and helps with your huge Lucario weakness. Swampert also wants Roar.

To solve your Lucario weakness, you could try a Celebi with 252 HP / 72 Def / 184 Spe and HP Fire over Cradily, although Cradily is honestly your best option vs. stall. Another option is to simply run 192 Spe Timid on Rotom, so you can outrun Adamant versions. ScarfTar should be fine at revenging most Lucario although it needs to come in safely unfortunately.

Good luck!
