XY OU Sand Rush: "Magnet Pull of Perdition"

Introduction:
Hi guys, today i bring you an excellent team tested in High ladder of Showdown, the team follows the common strategy of Sand Rush with a trapper of the main counters of this team, deffensive steels types like ferrothorn, scizor or skarmory

Hippowdon @ Smooth Rock
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 72 Def / 184 SpD
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
- Slack Off

Hippo is a fantastic mixed wall in OU, it can take HP ice of Life Thundurus or Manectric and Shadow balls of Aegislash. Of course it´s a huge physical wall stopping excadrill, garchomp and more common threats in the meta. Stealth Rock for obvies reasons, Earthquake for STAB, Slack Off for reliable recovery and stone edge to can hit things like Thundurus, Mega-Pinsir, talonflame, dragonite, latios and latias. Toxic is an option, but i prefer stone edge in this team. Smooth rock to support an excadrill sweep in the late game

Excadrill @ Life Orb
Ability: Sand Rush
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- Iron Head
- Swords Dance

Sand Rush Excadrill is probably the best late game cleaner in the game, with a fantastic STAB coverage and Rock Slide to hit Talonflame, Zapdos and Thundurus, Exca is a fantastic pokemon in the sand storm arriving more than 600 speed in SandStorm. I run Jolly nature to outspeeds anothers excadrill in sandStorm because Excadrill is a very used pokémon and is common to find a speed tie between excadrills. Swords Dance is to break chansey

Latias (F) @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Psyshock
- Draco Meteor
- Roost
- Defog

Latias, What can i say of this fantastic pokemon? Great special bulk, 110 base speed, access to defog and a reliable recovey move, offensive pressence with a really powerful move, draco meteor.
Psyshock for Mega-venusaur.
Latias is good in my team because it has levitate and it resists water and fight moves, fantastic check of keldeo and Rotom-Wash, Latias is really good support for my team giving some resistances and support with defog

Azumarill @ Assault Vest
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 96 HP / 252 Atk / 160 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Aqua Jet
- Waterfall
- Play Rough
- Knock Off

Azumarill is my bulky water. Assault vest for resists some stronge special attacks like T-bolt of latios, Hydro pump of Specs keldeo and Shadow balls of Aegislash.
Aqua jet for priority, it´s neccesary in a slow pokemon, Waterfall and Play rough for STAB and Knock Off for Aegislash.
It runs 160 Ev´s Speed to outspeed Specially Deffensive Heatran, Clefable, Tyranitar and Sylveon

Dragonite @ Choice Band
Ability: Multiscale
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Extreme Speed
- Outrage
- Dragon Claw
- Earthquake

Choice Band Dragonite is a fantastic wallbreaker and revenge killer. Outrage for STAB powerful move, dragon claw for not be locked, extreme speed for strong priority and earthquake for Heatran and Aegislash. It doesn´t run Fire Puch because really my team doesn´t need it. Extreme speed is a fantastic priority for hit set up sweepers like mega-gyarados, mega-charizard x, talonflame or Azumarill
The Ev´s are really simple, Adamant max attack and max speed

magnezone_by_hardvector-d3h2pi4.png

Magnezone @ Choice Specs
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 84 HP / 252 SpA / 172 Spe
Modest Nature
- Volt Switch
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Thunderbolt
- Flash Cannon

Finally, the star of my team, it isn´t a mega, really i don´t need it. Megnezone traps the counters of my offensive threats, it traps Skarmory, Ferrothorn, Mega-Scizor and Mega-mawile. It can take a lot of damage in other things like Mega-Venusaur with a choice Specs and an Amazing Special Attack
Magnezone is fantastic. HP fire does OHKO ferrothorn and Bulky Mega-Scizor, Volt Switch does OHKO Skarm and Flash Cannon does a lot of damage in Landorus-T, Gliscor, Mega-venusaur or Latios
It runs 172 EV´s speed to outspeed bulky Mega-Scizor, Specially deffensive heatran and Skarmory

Well, this is my team i hope you enjoy with this team and i hope your suggestions to improve my team.

It looks pretty solid, but I'd like to suggest some changes in order to improve the team.
- I prefer this spread in hippowdon is better imo, It allow you to tank aegislash and thundu, and you still have a lot phisicall bulk. EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 112 Def / 140 SpD, with an impish nature. Anyway, Its your choice.
- Use adamant nature on excadrill. Others sandrush teams aren't really a problem since you have hippowdon to stop them. Also, you can use an air balloon if you are worried of opposing excadrills. Sub (stop sucker punchs from bisharp or mawile) or rapid spin is better than swords dance, since its a late game cleaner.
- I feel like a bulkier spread on latias should fit better in your team. You can use 72HP, 184spatk and 252+ speed. This allows you to have max leftovers recovery, while taking minimun damage of sandstorm. Also, consider healing wish to "revive" excadrill in late game.
- You really dont need to ouspeed heatran with azu. 96 evs are enough for outspeeding clefable and ttar, and I think that's enough.
- DNite and magnezone are great.

Great team, hope I helped!

hi _Satelite99 nice team over there but i have a couple of quick suggestions on how you could improve it. First of all i'd consider Healing Wish on Latias over roost as giving a second life to something like your Choice Band Dragonite (and its multiscale) or even your Excadrill can be incredibly beneficial and could help you winning some games. Also i'd run at least 4 more Speed EVs on Magnezone (or Max) to outspeed Max Speed Mega Mawile (and Azumarill which is a really big problem for your team) with which you tie at the moment.
U-Turn Mega Scizor running a fast spread (which is now kinda common to outrun 44 Speed Rotom-W, thus outspeeding even Max Speed Magnezone) is also a pretty big problem so i'd consider putting Fire Punch over Dragon Claw on CBNite but that's a matter of preference.

Sand with dragonite isn't the best solution, because when sand is up, u are "virtually" locked. Even if dragmag is an awesome strategy, u should try to support more your excadrill. Without running mold breaker, quagsire walls everything except latias.

252 Atk Mold Breaker Excadrill Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Quagsire: 135-160 (34.2 - 40.6%) -- 53.5% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

252+ SpA Choice Specs Magnezone Flash Cannon vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Quagsire: 153-180 (38.8 - 45.6%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

U can probably try LO breloom (no focus sash for sand QQ) wich has a priority like dnite, but can easily take down quagsire, add a spore/sleep powder (lel megasaur sleep powder) immunity. With hippo that can handle birdspam, can be a good option.

Breloom @ Life Orb
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spe / 4 Def
Jolly Nature
- Mach Punch
- Spore
- Bullet Seed
- Rock Tomb

Celebi with heal bell for support azu and exca can be another option, but u have 2 psychic pokemon and are forced to run baton pass on celebi, and i don't know how much can synergic.

This is just an hint more than a rate, the team can work even with dragonite.
