Sand Screen 2.0 - tested

Hi! This is an update on the semi-weather team I created before, and has been tested on Showdown with an approximately 50-60% win percentage.

Tyra (Tyranitar) @ Smooth Rock / Assault Vest
Ability: Sand Stream
Sassy Nature
EVs: 252 HP / 6 Atk / 252 SpDef
-Stealth Rock
-Pursuit/Crunch
-Earthquake
-Ice Beam

My tank-lead and hazard-setter. Tyranitar is scary enough to induce a switch, giving it a free turn to set up Stealth Rock. If a switch is correctly predicted Tyranitar can opt instead to deal heavy damage with Pursuit for heavy damage (and an instant kill on Magic Bounce Espeon). This thing is a special tank, and with its bulk and Sandstorm up it can tank even Super-Effective Special Attacks. Earthquake and Ice Beam (this one's for you Gliscor) provide coverage against multiple threats, particularly Flying and Fire-types, which are common. Another option is the super-special wall Assault Vest build, at the cost of Stealth Rock, which has been useful against Talonflame, Charizard and other Flying-types. It's kinda slow though, but I prioritized bulk to keep it alive and change the weather when needed in order to set the stage for:

Lester (Excadrill) @ Air Balloon/Soft Sand
Ability: Sand Rush
Adamant Nature
EVs: 6 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
-Swords Dance
-Earthquake
-Rock Slide / Shadow Claw
-Rapid Spin

My sweeping Rapid Spinner. Excadrill's drop from Uber to OU has given OU access to one of the best spinners around. Has been successful in piling on the pressure early on, with the threat of an early-game sweep always looming. EQ with Rock Slide is a great coverage combo for Excadrill, Swords Dance is there to take advantage of when the opponent switches, and Sand Rush ensures that, barring priority, Excadrill will go first almost all the time as long as Sand is up. A +2 EQ will sweep most teams, but the lack of Mold Breaker is kind of a dilemma. Soft Sand has also been useful, as even unboosted Earthquakes deal massive damage to non-levitating opponents.

Jiminy Steel (Scizor) @ Choice Band
Ability: Technician
Adamant Nature
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 6 SpDef
-Bullet Punch
-U-turn
-Pursuit
-Brick Break

The first half of my Volt-Turn core. This is a typical Choice Band Scizor set geared for pure offense, with enough bulk to absorb one or two hits before hitting back with Bullet Punch. It hits hard enough to OHKO or 2HKO most non-walls in the tier, and its only weakness, Fire, is covered by both Tyranitar and Excadrill. Scizor is also the designated Fairy-killer, and provides much needed coverage with its plethora of attacks. Pursuit has been one of the most useful moves so far, as many weakened mons that threaten to switch out have fallen to Scizor. The build lacks longevity though, and I am thinking of changing the build to a Bulky Swords Dance Build or to a Bulky Choice Band build.

Mr. Clean (Rotom-W) @ Leftovers/Light Clay
Ability: Levitate
Bold Nature
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 6 SpAtk
-Hydro Pump
-Volt Switch
-Reflect
-Light Screen

The physical tank and reliable screener in the team, and the MVP of the team so far. Walls Talonflame, provides support for Scizor against Fire-types and is basically the physical wall of the team. Rotom-W can come into the game via U-turn, set-up screens during the opponent's switch, and then Volt Switch away to deal STAB damage while switching with a sweeper, who is now protected by one or two screens. Leftovers gives Rotom-W longevity and a reliable means of recovery in order for it to be able to take more hits, but this can also be switched with Light Clay in order to maximize use of the dual screens. An Assault Vest set (Modest Nature) with Thunderbolt and Shadow Ball instead of dual screens is also an option for my team in order to pile on offensive pressure.

Mister Swabe (Alakazam) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Magic Guard
Timid Nature
EVs: 6 HP / 252 SpAtk / 252 Spe
-Psyshock
-Energy Ball
-Shadow Ball
-Focus Blast

The team's special attacker and special revenge sweeper. Magic Guard protects against Tyranitar's sandstorm and from any entry hazards on the field. Timid nature is to outspeed as many Pokémon as possible, and the Focus Sash ensures that Alakazam will be able to hit at least once even if the opponent has priority. Psyshock was chosed over Psychic in order to provide a means to damage the physical side of opponents, while Focus Blast, Shadow Ball and Energy Ball are there for coverage. EVs are basic, max Special Attack and max Speed to deal heavy damage as quick as possible. The Focus Sash has proven to be extremely useful, and switching in Alakazam allows me to at the very least dent an enemy Pokemon.

Visenya (Salamence) @ Life Orb
Ability: Moxie
Naive Nature
EVs: 252 Atk / 6 SpAtk / 252 Spe
-Dragon Dance
-Dragon Claw
-Earthquake
-Fire Blast

The main sweeper of the team. Salamence was selected over Garchomp because of its Flying-type and resistance to the ever-present Earthquake. Naive nature was chosen for maximum speed, and after a Dragon Dance the only thing that will bring this 'mon down is priority or status. Moxie allows set-up while revenge killing, and stacked Attack boosts enables quick sweeping. Fire Blast and Earthquake are for coverage, while Dragon Claw serves as the main STAB move. Other options include Tauntrados or Garchomp.

This team is great at pressuring other offensive teams, but has had difficulty in eliminating stall teams that rely on status. This has been my most successful team in Showdown OU so far, but I think the team can still be improved a lot. Suggestions are most welcome.

Hey allpuretones, this is a pretty nice looking team you have here but it has a few flaws that I will discuss. First off 6 EVs or 4 EVs, it doesn't matter lol. Secondly on Tyranitar Assault Vest will be better for your team 9/10 simply due to the fact that this team does not rely on weather to be good or to perform. As far as Excadrill goes I suggest changing Swords Dance to Iron Head and keep the Air Balloon over the Soft Sand. You really have no way of dealing with fairies outside of Scizor and if he dies early on in the fight, you will need a back up. The STAB it provides is also nice as it does a ton of damage to anything not resisted by it. Lastly using Iron Head allows you to have a steady flow of damage to things like Gliscor who would otherwise wall you entirely. Alright moving on to Scizor I just had one suggestion, try changing Brick Break to Superpower as it does more damage and can secure KO's much easier on things like Ferrothorn and Heatran. Outside of more power there is really no other reason to swap. Most People do not run screens so Brick Break isn't going to be as useful. On top of that Banded Scizor focuses on doing A LOT of damage so giving it moves with high base power only aid it in its quest to smash the OU metagame. Now we move to the one that will probably have the most impact, Rotom-Wash. Dual Screens is a fine goal for him to do, but he is utterly outclassed by other dual screeners. Rotom-Wash is also the second side of the coin on your Volt Turn core, so he needs to be able to peel out whenever he wants to get another favorable match up for your team. It is for this reason that i recommend changing your EVs to 44 Spd / 216 HP / 152 Def / 96 SAtk. Belly Jet is a tremendous threat to your team right now so running 44 Speed EVs on Rotom-Wash will allow you to out speed max speed Jolly Azumarill and do a decent chunk with Volt Switch. 216 HP EVs give you an odd number of HP so as to take 1% less damage when you swap in on Stealth Rocks (more handy for volt turners because they swap in more often). Like I mentioned earlier Dual Screens Rotom is a bit meh. Try running Will-o-wisp and Pain Split over the dual screens to cripple physical attackers or just to get some residual damage on something. Pain Split allows you more survivability and can increase the amount of damage you do to something before volt switching to a Pokemon to clean up. That's really all I had for you. Good luck with the team in the future.
Rotom-Wash @ Leftovers

252+ Atk Choice Band Scizor Superpower vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Ferrothorn: 258-304 (73.2 - 86.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Thanks for the detailed analysis, suggestions and calcs, they are much appreciated. I originally planned to have Superpower on Scizor, but since this team is based on my real-life team, I have no way of putting Superpower on him except by transfer, and have forgotten the fact that you can in Showdown. Thus, I shall switch to Superpower in Showdown asap. Assault Vest Tyranitar would mean no rocks/hazards: Ttar becomes super bulky and useful, but I'm gonna miss the rocks. Regarding Excadrill, I shall have to test Iron Head vs. Swords Dance first, as having Swords Dance means that at least 80% of the OU metagame will fall to Earthquake or Rock Slide. Lastly, I like the new EV spread suggestion on Rotom-W, and I shall take your suggested build into account. Had trouble before with some stall/status/phaze teams though, particularly Sableye, Ferrothorn, Mandibuzz and Skarmory, but I think your suggestions may remedy some of these problems.
