ORAS OU Sand Team

SAND TEAM

248-m.png

Tyranitar-Mega (F) @ Tyranitarite
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 SpD
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Crunch
- Brick Break
- Ice Punch

I want to build a sand team and Tyranitar is my leader. I chose the supporter set because i want to put sand as much as possible and i need that him stay alive. Ice punch is important when the opponent switch in landorus to kill tyranitar with earthquake or to kill Dragon types. Crunch is for the switch in Gengar or ghost types. I prefer brick break to superpower because SuperPW lowers statistics of Tyranitar.

Jirachi @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 108 Def / 148 Spe
Timid Nature
- Calm Mind
- Substitute
- Thunderbolt
- Moonblast

I decided to use Jirachi because I needed a Steel type and a SubCM. I choose this pokemon because is a steel type and in the sand the weakness of the fire is neutralized. I choose the SubCM rule as is a set that isn't much used, the opponent provide a set of physical Jirachi, but my Jirachi is special! When I killed the counters of Jirachi I put Jirachi and with sub + CalmMind it kills pokemon. Moonblast is for Dragon types in particular for DDdragon but if I didn't manage to kill Charyzard X Jirachi, if hasn't a substitute on the field is a big problem because Charizard X can kills me.

Celebi @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 60 HP / 252 SpA / 196 Spe
Modest Nature
- Recover
- Earth Power
- Energy Ball
- Hidden Power [Fire]

I decided to use Celebi because is a grass type that can help me to kill the steel types, water types and slow fire types. The reason why I choose this pokemon is because I wanted to put another special attacking and Celebi has the ability Natural Cure which is very useful for me. Earth PW and Energy Ball help me to kill a pokemon and with this attacks Celebi can be a revenge killer.

Rotom-Wash @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 232 HP / 56 SpA / 220 Spe
Modest Nature
- Will-O-Wisp
- Hydro Pump
- Volt Switch
- Hidden Power [Grass]

I choose RotomW because is a pokeomon difficult to counter and is the first pokemon that I put at the start of the battle because the opponents think that I start with Tyranitar. Its role is burn opponents and then run away with volt switch, it can sometimes also be a good revenge killer. I choose HP grass for Swampert, Quagsire and Seismitoad.
Celebi+RotomW kill water and Grass types with volt switch + energy ball for water types and will o wisp + energy ball for grass types.

Exscadrill (Ferrothorn) (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Spikes
- Gyro Ball
- Leech Seed
- Protect

I choose ferrothom because I wanted a spinner and he also can be a annoyer. He put the spikes and bothers with leach seed + protect!
Gyro ball is for Sylvan and for revenge kill some pokemon. Ferrothorn scares Fairy pokemon (Sylvan, Clefable, Diancie) and creates a problem for water-type and ground-type pokemon. But it is very danger with fire also in the sand, in particular is danger with will-o-wisp.

Garchomp (F) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Impish Nature
- Poison Jab
- Earthquake
- Dragon Tail
- Fire Fang

I decided to use Garchomp because is a dragon tipe that is effective in the sand. He assicure me the resistente to fire to protect Celebi, Jirachi and Ferrothom.
Tyranitar and Ferrothorn place the stealth rock and spikes, Chomp with dragon tail sweeps the pokemons of opponent.
Poison job is for Fairy tipe.
Fire far for Scizor.

With this team i have more problems with Fight attack, with Keldeo, DiancieMega and DDCharizard-Y. Can you help me?

P.s. Plese speak simple english because I'm not English and do not know it very well.

Hello COR , and welcome to Smogon!

Unfortunately, this RMT is currently not following the rules which can be found in the RMT Resource Thread; specifically, this thread violates rule #4, because you lack sufficient descriptions for each Pokemon on your team. As such, I am afraid that I will have to lock this thread for the time being. If you would like this thread to be reopened, feel free to PM me with your updated RMT, and I would be happy to reopen this thread for you. If you need help making an RMT up to the required standards, I recommend that you carefully read the RMT Resource Thread and check out other RMTs from the Team Showcase and RMT Archive for some examples.

Good luck with your team, and have a nice day!

EDIT: Reopened!

Hey COR, this is an interesting team. M-Tar is a rare sight, but it's pretty fun to use.

The main issue i see with your team is that there's a lot of redundancy in your defensive pivots / walls, and that your team doesn't really have any real offensive presence or synergy.

To help with your lack of offensive presence, you should run Dragon Dance M-Tyranitar > Specially Defensive, and run Swords Dance Crawdaunt > Rotom-W to support it by weakening shared checks such as Azumarill, Keldeo, Scizor, Rotom-W, Skarmory, etc.. As i mentioned before, you have a lot of redundancies in your defensive Pokemon, such as having Celebi + Rotom-W + Ferrothorn + Jirachi on the same team when they overlap a lot in the Pokemon that they check. Celebi + Defensive Garchomp check virtually everything that Rotom-W does, so you don't really lose out kn anything by dropping it. Lastly, to end your offensive core, you should run Sand Rush Excadrill > Ferrothorn to benefit from M-Tyranitar's sand, and your offensive cores ability to break through its checks such as Landorus-T and Skarmory, as well as help you check / revenge threats such as Zard X and M-Altaria with sand up.

Next, you should run Rocky Helmet Garchomp > Assault Vest since Garchomp's typing and defenses make it function much better as a physical wall than special, as well as run defensive Celebi > offensive to be able to check Keldeo and Azumarill more efficiently since they're annoying for your offensive core to deal with.

Lastly, you should run Expert Belt Jirachi > Calm Mind with a set of Thunderbolt / Grass Knot / Hidden Power Fire to act as a lure for Skarmory, Hippowdon, and Scizor respectively, to massively support M-Tyranitar in sweeping.
