Intro
Yo yo this is the first team I have ever made that has done this well. I mostly just steal teams but figured I would make one for the DLC and I think it may not be so bad. Keep in mind I am new to teambuilding and this may be garbage, but it took me to 1700 in a chaotic ass ladder so it seems just gimmicky enough to perform well in an underdeveloped crown tundra era. I would call this team an offense but some may see it as more of a balance given the wall core.

Team

Excadrill @ Soft Sand
Ability: Sand Rush
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Rapid Spin
- Earthquake
- Iron Head
When I first opened showdown to see the DLC meta I realized how broken everything was and how generally high the speed tiers were. With this I turned to the classic speed control option that is weather. Excadrill is the premier sand sweeper and I thought soft sand would provide some nice breaking power with eq. I opted for the sd, spin, dual stab set because I plan to run tar for dealing with legendary birds. This guy is a physical sweeper and acts as my main hazard control as well.

Tyranitar @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Fire Punch
- Stone Edge
- Toxic
With any sand team, you need one of two sand setters and I thought SpDef t-tar would be better than hippowdon because of how well it deals with the newly added legendary birds and a certain newly added ghost horse. I'm mostly a gen7 player and love fire punch ttar so I couldn't stay away from it; you may be surprised how many genesects I have caught on switches with fire punch. As well as being a special wall and sand setter, tyranitar is also the rocker of this team. If there is a better ev spread for some crucial speed tier that I am missing, please tell me.

Spectrier @ Choice Specs
Ability: Grim Neigh
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Shadow Ball
- Will-O-Wisp
- Dark Pulse
- Hyper Beam
Spectrier is an awesome mon with a great speed tier and special attack stat. For this, I decided to make him a special breaker. It can likely outspeed and bring most of excadrill's counters within iron head range. Spectrier is my main landorus check and will put pressure on the opponent provided that they don't have a blissey or something that completely nullifies it. Spectrier is a straight-up special sweeper and is usually my lead, though this depends on matchup of course. I run modest to further soften up teams for drill but you could probably go timid if you care about outspeeding jolly cinderace.

Moltres @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Flame Body
EVs: 252 HP / 48 Def / 208 SpD
Bold Nature
- Flamethrower
- U-turn
- Roost
- Scorching Sands
Moltres is a mon that is surprisingly good in the meta as of now. Moltres mainly serves to pivot in and out and to counter some select mons in the tier. The main mons that moltres is here for (and with this specific spread) is landorus-i, genesect, opposing excadrill, heatran, cinderace, and melmetal. The SpDef investment ensures that landorus-i's sludge wave can be roosted off. Defog can be run over u-turn or scorching sands if you aren't worried about heatran. Moltres just seems to survive a long time in most battles. I also LOVE the type synergy it has with SpDef tar as it can take grass, ground, fighting, fairy, bug, and steel moves that Tar struggles against.

Tapu Fini @ Leftovers
Ability: Misty Surge
EVs: 248 HP / 244 Def / 16 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nature's Madness
- Moonblast
- Surf
- Taunt
At this point there was a humongous water weakness in my team so I decided to add a fat water to patch this up. Tapu fini seemed like a good choice because of its defenses and nice fairy typing for zygarde and other annoying dragons. I opted for surf over double defog simply because of heatran and landorus. Double defog would be fine if you don't see those two mons as threats. The natures madness taunt combo is great for chipping fat things for drill, and it is worth nothing that a +1 fusion bolt can kill most magearnas that have taken a nature's madness.

Kyurem-Black @ Life Orb
Ability: Teravolt
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Fusion Bolt
- Icicle Spear
- Roost
Kyurem is my last mon and is on the team to patch up the rain matchup and provide some setup for late-game if drill does not work out as a win con. This happens quite often, as kyurem is truthfully the more reliable sweeper. I suspect he will be banned soon but for now it's pretty easy to score some wins with such a powerful mon. He helps my water and electric weaknesses along with bolt beam coverage to ohko everything in sight after a couple of dds. Kyurem and spectrier also work well in softening up teams as ice/electric/ghost is unresisted.
