RMT: SandLoom

So this team started with in mind a Poison Heal Breloom, which was one of the most dangerous Pokemon in the 4th Gen era (I never used one so that's why I decided to use it). So I added a Poison Heal Breloom...

286.png

Breloom @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
Adamant Nature
- Focus Punch
- Leech Seed
- Spore
- Substitute

Standard EVs and Nature but take a look at the 2nd Moveslot. As you can see I don't have a second offensive move, instead I have Leech Seed. Why you may ask? With Breloom having really mediocre HP stat with Leech Seed most of the times you can get back a whooping 16-25% (It varies if the opponent's Pokemon is A. Tank B. Wall C. Offensive)

(Counters/Checks: Pokemon that resist Focus Punch but have good bulk to take it (even if it's resisted, it comes from a Pokemon which has 130 Base Attack, gets STAB on it and it's a 150 BP move), Overcoat Pokemon (Mandibuzz,Forretress etc.), Sound Based Moves, Whirlwind/Roar, Perish Song, Safety Googles, Burn/Paralyze Status, Grass types that are Immune or Resist Focus Punch, really physically defensive Pokemon, Pokemon that are faster and have a move to kill Breloom for where is at)

-------------------------------------------------------

Then I decided that I want something that can deal with most of the checks/counters that Breloom has and that Pokemon is Alakazam...

Alakazam @ Focus Sash
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Psyshock
- Shadow Ball
- Dazzling Gleam
- Hidden Power [Fire]

Woah, wait.. No Mega Alakazam?! Well, yes because I find the Magic Guard set to be more effective with this team and already Alakazam is fast and powerful. So like I said and above fast Pokemon and Pokemon that can burn Breloom are one of the best counters to the Poison Heal Breloom, but with Alakazam being one of the best revenge killers, scoring great offensive capabilities and being able to outspeed many thing seemed to be a good teammate for Loom. Furthermore, I have a Fight/Psychic core which is really decent. As you can see I have Dazzling Gleam over Focus Blast for a more accurate alternative and a nice alternative to HP Ice that Alakazam needed in previous Gens. So with HP Ice out of the way, I can finally use HP Fire for Steel Types like Forretress, Ferrothorn, Skarmory etc.

(Counters/Checks: Talonflame, Scarf users of Base speed more than 65/Faster Pokemon, Priority moves in general, Krookodile, Tyranitar (Bulky Dark types in general), Eviolite Chansey to some extend, Heatran, Healthy Wobbuffet, Multi-Hit Moves, Pursuit Trappers (Weavile,T-tar))

-------------------------------------------------------
After that, I thought I could make a decent Fight/Dark/Psychic core but I didn't know which Dark-type Pokemon to use. And then, it hit me... Tyranitar!

Tyranitar @ Tyranitarite
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 108 Def / 148 SAtk
Relaxed Nature
- Fire Blast
- Ice Beam
- Pursuit
- Stealth Rock

Weird... 2 Special Moves? Well yes! Ice Beam for Landorus, Salamence, Garchomp, Dragonite, Gliscor, Zygarde, Donphan and Fire Blast for Ferrothorn, Skarmory, Forretress, Aegislash, Jirachi etc. Pokemon that literally cock-block you! Also Pursuit even if you don't invest on Attack does a lot of damage and provides a great check to other weather inducers, Ghost/Psychic types or Choice Locked Pokemon. Also who doesn't need Stealth Rocks? Oh did I forgot to mention that T-tar is one of the best counter to Talonflame?

(Counters/Checks: Any Water type (Politoed, Gastrodon etc. (Maybe with the exception of Jellicent)), Terrakion, Mega-Lucario, Reuniclus can set up on you, Kyurem Black, Fire type Pokemon, Conkeldurr, Blissey/Chansey)

-------------------------------------------------------

My Team is slow...Well it looks like we want a GOOD Sticky Web user.. Galvantula!

596.png

Galvantula @ Focus Sash
Ability: Compound Eyes
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef
Timid Nature
- Bug Buzz
- Thunder
- Volt Switch
- Sticky Web

Lead with it..Die.. Simple as that. Rarely I will need it to sweep or help me take out a Pokemon. It's handy that it has Volt Switch, ≈100% accurate Thunder and a Sound Based move that can go through subs but that's where the fun ends... Sometimes it can be used as a T-wave absorber as well I guess

(Counters/Checks: Magic Bounce, Taunt, Magic Coat, Passive Damage to break its Sash)

-------------------------------------------------------

Wait, I am using a Sand team with no Sand Abuser... Excadrill comes to the Rescue!!

530.png

Excadrill @ Air Balloon
Ability: Sand Rush
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 HP
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Rapid Spin
- Rock Slide
- Iron Head

Come in when the sand is up and wreck. Also with the Balloon I have a semi-immunity to Ground type moves and with Rapin spin I can get rid of Sticky Web and entry hazards. Also Rock/Steel/Ground provides superb coverage.

(Counters/Checks: Get rid of the sand, (Really) Physically bulky Pokemon, powerful Priority moves (Vaccuum Wave, Mach Punch, Sucker Punch))

-------------------------------------------------------

Here I had Conkldurr...But it didn't work very well (Watch 2nd Replay), so I decided to add one of the most dangerous Pokemon to date... Mega Kangaskhan!

115.png
115-m.png

Kangaskhan (F) @ Kangaskhanite
Ability: Scrappy
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Sucker Punch
- Return
- Power-Up Punch

With Stick Web support, Parental Bond, Power-Up Punch and Sucker Punch the Mega Mother is quite dangerous. With the ability to set to +2, do damage and not being affected by Taunt (because Power-Up Punch is a damage dealing move) this set can be lethal for the opponent. And to top it all of she gets Sucker Punch, a great priority move and Eearthquake so your hopes of stopping her with King Shield end right there!

(Counters/Checks: Kill it before she sets up, when she is evolved then switch your Ghost type, predict right, status it when you have the opportunity)
