Alolan Sandlash boasts a unique defensive typing alongside its high utility, making it one of the most splashable Pokemon in ZU. Alolan Sandslash takes advantage of passive defensive Pokemon like Clefairy and Stunfisk to either keep hazards on or off the field. It also can switch into certain physical attackers, while also sponging special attacks from Frosmoth and the Rotom forms. It functions as either a hazard setter or remover, depending on a team’s preferences. Icicle Crash threatens opposing hazard removers, such as Altaria. Knock Off severely hurts the longevity of item-reliant opponents like Clefairy, while Toxic cripples opponents like Articuno and Cramorant in the long run. Protect allows Alolan Sandslash to scout attacks from opponents like Choice Band Cinccino and Thwackey, while also receiving Leftovers recovery. 56 Speed EV’s are used to outpace Adamant Rhydon.

Balance and bulky offense teams greatly appreciate Alolan Sandslash’s role compression. With Alolan Sandslash being weak to Fighting-types and Fire-types, bulky resistances like Wishiwashi, Altaria, and Alcremie soak up those attacks. Alolan Sandslash needs Leftovers to maintain its longevity, so Knock Off absorbers like Miltank and Qwilfish are great. The hazard versatility it has makes Alolan Sandslash a perfect fit on hazard stack teams, too. Wallbreakers like Kangaskhan, Shiftry, Rotom, and Jynx highly benefit from the extra damage provided by stacking hazards. Offensive pivots including Rotom, Thwackey, and Silvally forms thrive off of the Spikes that further weaken their checks, as well as hazard removal from Alolan Sandslash that can make pivoting more easy.

[SET COMMENTS]
Alolan Sandslash is a fantastic hail sweeper with its Swords Dance set, becoming faster than almost the entire unboosted metagame under hail. However, Swords Dance sets work greatly outside of hail as well. Earthquake provides significant coverage resistances to Triple Axel such as Qwilfish, Klinklang, and Rapidash. Iron Head is used on hail teams to break through Pokemon like Articuno and Alcremie, but outside of hail, the hazard removal utility and Speed-boosting benefits of Rapid Spin make it preferable. Life Orb extrapolates the strength of Alolan Sandslash, letting it more easily KO defensive threats, but Leftovers gives Alolan Sandslash greater longevity, allowing it to stay on the field for longer.

Swords Dance variants of Alolan Sandslash shine on hail teams, but they also shine on bulky offense teams looking for a strong setup breaker with defensive utility and a niche as an offensive spinner. On hail teams, Abomasnow stands out as the premier Hail setter, and Beartic is a hail abuser that can break through bulky waters like Wishiwashi and Poliwrath. Wallbreakers like Sawk and Thievul not only wear down Ice resists like Miltank and Piloswine, but they also grealty benefit from Hail's chip damage. Outside of hail, Alolan Sandslash's removal of hazards increases the longevity of defensive Pokemon like Tangela and Wishiwashi, who don't appreciate the chip damage from hazards. This also applies for offensive pivots like Thwackey and Rotom, who otherwise get worn down by hazard stacking. Defensive checks to Alolan Sandslash, such as Throh and Wishiwashi, can be pressured by status. As a result, spreaders of Toxic including Altaria and Miltank wear down these checks so that Alolan Sandslash can pick them off. Fire-types and Fighting-types are often able to easily revenge kill Alolan Sandslash, so defensive sponges like Rhydon and Alcremie help soak up those attacks to preserve Alolan Sandslash's longevity.

[SET COMMENTS]
With a solid Attack stat and a standout offensive typing, Alolan Sandslash can work as a physical wallbreaker that threatens common defensive staples such as Rhydon, Alcremie, and Eldegoss with its STAB moves. Earthquake is valuable coverage that ensures Fire-types like Rapidash, Ninetales, and Coalossal cannot safely switch into it. This is alongside Steel-types like Klinklang, and other Ice resists like Qwilfish. Ice Shard allows it to revenge kill weakened wallbreakers, including Sawk, Small Gourgeist, and the Silvally forms. Alternatively, Alolan Sandslash can lay Spikes for free by threatening its attacks, getting the opponent to switch out; this lets it break more easily later.

Choice Band Alolan Sandslash has solid amounts of defensive utility for an offensive wallbreaker, making it fit nicely on bulky offense. Alolan Sandslash struggles with Water-types, so offensive partners like Small Gourgeist and Rotom can take advantage of checks like Wishiwashi and Poliwrath. Fighting-types and Fire-types like Throh and Rapidash will also give Alolan Sandslash a difficult time breaking. Thus, partners like Alcremie and Rhydon can respectively abuse that. Pivots like Thwackey, Cinccino, and Basculin can lure in different Pokemon that Alolan Sandslash takes advantage of. This includes Tangela, Altaria, Alcremie, and Eldegoss. Those pivots also do a good job of removing Alolan Sandslash's checks, including Wishiwashi and Rapidash. Alolan Sandslash appreciates Speed control from Pokemon like Rotom and Thwackey, who can also help against checks like Qwilfish and Wishiwashi.

On Choice Band sets, Knock Off removes the items of opponents with a strong hit. However, most of the Pokemon that check Alolan Sandslash, including Miltank and Wishiwashi, are more harmed by Spikes. For Swords Dance sets outside of Hail, Ice Shard lets it surprise Pokemon looking to revenge kill it, but it does not have the long term boost nor the hazard removal abilities of Rapid Spin. Protective Pads can be ran to prevent contact effects from Rocky Helmet Qwilfish and Miltank. Wide Lens boosts the accuracy of Triple Axel, which can be mildly useful on teams that need more consistent Ice-type coverage. While these options are certainly good, the extra damage from Life Orb, or the longevity gained from Leftovers, is more valuable.

Checks and Counters
==================

**Water-Types:** Water-type Pokemon, including Wishiwashi and Poliwrath, resist both of Alolan Sandslash's STAB moves, with Poliwrath particularly being able to retaliate with a Fighting-type attack. These defensive Pokemon also threaten to burn it with Scald. Other Water-types like Basculin and offensive variants of Poliwrath can break through Alolan Sandslash's defenses.

**Fighting-Types:** Due to Alolan Sandslash's 4x weakness to Fighting, Fighting-types like Throh, Sawk, and Gurdurr easily force it out. With that being said, they don't switch into offensive sets too well, because they do not resist Triple Axel.

**Fire-Type Pokemon:** Although they are vulnerable to Earthquake or Knock Off, Fire-types such as Rapidash and Ninetales resist both of its STAB moves and can OHKO back with a 4x effective Fire-type attack.

**Super effective Coverage:** While Alolan Sandslash has a plethora of resistances, it's also weak to some common types. For instance, common wallbreakers like Kangaskhan run Earthquake, and a common revenge killer like Choice Scarf Manectric runs Overheat.

**Miltank:** With its ability Thick Fat resisting Alolan Sandslash's Ice-type attacks, it can be difficult for Alolan Sandslash to break through Miltank. Although Miltank has to watch out for Toxic, many variants run Heal Bell to negate this.

Alolan Sandlash boasts a unique defensive typing alongside solid bulk, making it one of the most splashable mixed walls in ZU Alolan Sandslash's bulk isn't really where it shines, its great utility movepool is. It’s able to phase physical attackers like Cinccino, Small Gourgeist, and Thwackey it isn't supposed to switch into Thwackey and Cinccino because losing Leftovers is terrifying and Band SmallGeist hits it too hard, i'd rather say that it can occasionnaly switch into specific physical attackers while also sponging special attacks from Frosmoth and the Rotom forms. Alolan Sandslash is mostly taking advantage of defensive pokemon like clefairy, eldegoss, articuno, this should be the first point. It functions as either a hazard setter or remover, depending on a team’s preferences. Icicle Crash threatens opposing hazard removers, such as Altaria. Knock Off and Toxic both cripple opponents in the long run, with the option of either removing their valuable item or Badly Poisoning them i can know this by looking at their dex descriptions, it doesn't tell me what they are used for. Protect allows Alolan Sandslash to scout attacks from opponents for instance?, and receive Leftovers recovery. 56 Speed EV’s are used to outpace offensive Adamant Rhydon, so that Alolan Sandslash can revenge kill a weakened Rhydon.

Balance and bulky offense teams greatly appreciate Alolan Sandslash’s role compression. With Alolan Sandslash being weak to Fighting-types and Fire-types, bulky resistances like Wishiwashi, Altaria, and Alcremie soak up those attacks. Alolan Sandlash absorbs supereffective Grass-type, Fairy-type, and Poison-type attacks respectively. Not really Alolan Sandslash needs Leftovers to maintain its longevity, so Knock Off absorbers like Miltank and Qwilfish are great. On the offensive side, Pokemon like Rotom and Thwackey appreciate pivoting into a defensive cornerstone. In particular, Thwackey’s Grassy Surge provides more passive recovery, and a reduction of Earthquake’s power. The hazard versatility it has makes Alolan Sandslash a perfect fit on hazard stack teams, too. Qwilfish sponges the Fighting-type and Fire-type attackers that destroy Alolan Sandslash, and lays out more hazards. you already said that Wallbreakers like Kangaskhan, Shiftry, Rotom, and Jynx highly benefit from the extra damage provided by stacking hazards. mention pivots like rotom and thwackey appreciating spikes further weakening their checks and appreciating rapid spin removing hazards from their side, letting it them pivot more easily.

With a solid Attack stat and a standout offensive typing, Alolan Sandslash can work as a physical wallbreaker that surprises opponents expecting a defensive set that can threaten common defensive staples such as Rhydon, Alcremie, and Articuno. Triple Axel deals massive amounts of damage, getting a 2HKO on Pokemon that can normally switch into a defensive variant, such as Rhydon. Iron Head is its other STAB attack, hitting Alcremie and Articuno with supereffective damage while potentially flinching. Earthquake is valuable coverage that ensures Fire-types like Rapidash, Ninetales, and Coalossal cannot safely switch into it it is also hitting steel-types and qwilfish. Ice Shard allows it to revenge kill weakened wallbreakers, including Sawk, Small Gourgeist, and the Silvally forms. Alternatively, Alolan Sandslash can lay Spikes for free by threatening its attacks, getting the opponent to switch out, this lets it break more easily later.

Choice Band Alolan Sandslash has solid amounts of defensive utility for an offensive wallbreaker, making it fit nicely on bulky offense. Fast pivots like Cinccino love being able to safely swap into a Pokemon that can absorb a variety of hits. that's true but totally irrelevant On the contrast, slow pivots like Wishiwashi and Uxie help Alolan Sandslash safely enter the field. CB Snowslash isn't hard to get in thanks to its great resists, you can mention pivots in general, especially the ones that invites pokemon that snowslash takes advantage of Its vast coverage provides lots of value for many offensive threats. Breakers like Thwackey, Raichu, and Sawk love its ability to hit Grass-types, Ground-types, and Fairy types respectively. too hazy, also snowslash is already a breaker, it's hard to fit several of them, but more specific Unfortunately, due to its mediocre Speed, Alolan Sandslash often needs a fast offensive partner like Rapidash or Choice Scarf Rotom. Rewrite this as Snowslash appreciates Speed control. Mention partners that handle its checks.

Alolan Sandslash is a fantastic Hail sweeper with its Swords Dance set, becoming faster than the entire unboosted metagame under Hail, as well as Choice Scarf users like Sawk and Rotom at the exception of some specific choice scarf users. Due to its solid bulk and passable Speed tier, Alolan Sandslash can also run Swords Dance sets outside of Hail, albeit to a less threatening extent. i don't really like how you phrased this, SD Snowslash is great outside of hail and you have to merge this niche in the first sentence, because hail teams are just a particular example of teams snowslash fits in. Earthquake provides significant coverage against Qwilfish and other resistances to Triple Axel such as ???. Iron Head is a power STAB attack that can flinch opponents, but due to the coverage already provided by its two other attacks, one may opt to instead utilize Rapid Spin's Speed boost against passive opponents. Rapid Spin also allows it to be an offensive spinner, letting it remove hazards. You sort of miss the point of Rapid Spin vs Iron Head imo. Outside of hail, you'll always run Rapid Spin because of the speed boost and because teams using it are using it mainly due to rapid spin. In hail teams, IH is used to break more easily through some specific threats because Rapid Spin is already covered by Cryogonal, but it's still an option if you're not running it. Mention LO vs Leftovers.

Swords Dance variants of Alolan Sandslash primarily shine on Hail teams, so if one wants to build a Hail team around it, then Hail setters are absolutely necessary. That's wrong, it shines in those teams but it equally shines in other teams. Carbink, Cryogonal, and Wishiwashi are the most effective at setting the weather. Only Cryogonal and Carbink are great hail setters, Qwilfish, Silvally formes, and Wishiwashi are nicher. Arctovish and Beartic are offensive partners that also highly benefit from Hail, due to Slush Rush and can weaken common checks (bulky waters, ice resists, physical walls). There are also Pokemon that appreciate the added chip damage of Hail, like Kangaskhan and Skuntank. Yeah but you never have the room to run them Outside of Hail, Alolan Sandslash holds a niche as a solid setup wallbreaker on bulky offense. By eliminating Grass-types, Ground-types, and Fairy-types, threats like Poliwrath, Silvally-Poison, and Shiftry are able to thrive. Have you used SD Snowslash outside of hail? this is really lacking.

On offensive sets, Knock Off removes the items of opponents with a strong hit. However, most of the Pokemon that check Alolan Sandslash are not weak to Knock Off. You run Knock Off only on Band, because SD doesn't have the room for it, Knock Off cripples checks like Wishiwashi and Miltank, but those are usually more crippled by Spikes. For Swords Dance sets, Ice Shard lets it surprise Pokemon looking to revenge kill it, although it is not as strong as Iron Head and does not have the long term boost of Rapid Spin this isn't an option over Iron Head since Iron Head is only used in hail teams which don't really need the priority, it's more of an option over Rapid Spin, but Rapid Spin is usually better due to the defensive utility of removing hazards. Protective Pads can be ran to prevent contact effects from Rocky Helmet Qwilfish and Flame Body Rapidash. Wide Lens boosts the accuracy of Triple Axel from 72% to 97% in which situations is this better than LO or Leftovers?. While these options are certainly good, the extra damage from Life Orb, or the longevity gained from Leftovers, is more valuable.

**Water-Types:** Water-type Pokemon, including Wishiwashi and Poliwrath, resist both of Alolan Sandslash's STAB moves. However, they must beware of Toxic. Other Water-types like Basculin and offensive variants of Poliwrath can break through Alolan Sandslash's defenses, as well. They mostly threaten it with a burn from scald, but also with powerful hits like fighting stab from poli and choice boosted attacks from basculin.

**Fighting-Types:** Due to Alolan Sandslash's 4x weakness to Fighting, Fighting-types like Throh, Sawk, and Gurdurr easily force it out. Mention that they aren't switching well into offensive sets due to not resisting triple axel.

**Fire-Type Pokemon:** Although they are vulnerable to Earthquake or Knock Off, Fire-types such as Rapidash and Ninetales resist both of its STAB moves and can OHKO back with a 4x effective Fire-type attack.

**Supereffective Coverage:** While Alolan Sandslash has a plethora of resistances, it's also weak to some common types. For instance, common wallbreakers like Kangaskhan run Earthquake.

**Miltank:** With its ability Thick Fat resisting Alolan Sandslash's Ice-type attacks, it can be difficult for Alolan Sandslash to break through Miltank. Although Miltank has to watch out for Toxic, many variants run Heal Bell to negate this.

Alolan Sandlash boasts a unique defensive typing alongside its high utility makes it one of the most splashable Pokemon in ZU. Alolan Sandslash takes advantage of passive defensive Pokemon like Clefairy and Articuno to either keep hazards on or off the field. It alsp occasionnaly switches into certain physical attackers, while also sponging special attacks from Frosmoth and the Rotom forms.

Offensive pivots including Rotom, Thwavkey, and Silvally forms thrive off of the Spikes that further weaken their checks, as well as hazard removal from Alolan Sandslash that can make pivoting more easy.

With a solid Attack stat and a standout offensive typing, Alolan Sandslash can work as a physical wallbreaker that can threaten common defensive staples such as Rhydon, Alcremie, and Articuno with its STAB moves. Earthquake is valuable coverage that ensures Fire-types like Rapidash, Ninetales, and Coalossal cannot safely switch into it, alongside Steel-types like Klinklang and other Ice resists like Qwilfish.

Frail wallbreakers including Rapidash and Sawk, as well as walls like Alcremie and Eldegoss, can fall back onto Alolan Sandslash's natural bulk and typing when in need. it looks like you didn't understand what i told you last time. Basically, Snowslash struggles with water, fire, and fighting-types (and miltank), so you want to mention partners that are here to take advantage of those. Pivots like Cinccino and Silvally-Dark can lure in different Pokemon that Alolan Sandslash takes advantage of. This includes Tangela, Altaria, Alcremie, and Eldegoss. Alolan Sandslash appreciates Speed control from Pokemon like Rotom and Thwackey, who can also help against checks like Qwilfish and Wishiwashi. same comment as last time, idk why you seperate those ones from cinccino and darkvally.

Life Orb extrapolates the strength of Alolan Sandslash, letting it more easily KO defensive threats, but Leftovers gives Alolan Sandslash greater longevity, allowing it to stay on the field for longer. hail isn't capitalized.

Swords Dance variants of Alolan Sandslash shine on Hail teams, but they also shine on bulky offense teams looking for a strong setup breaker with defensive utility and a niche as an offensive spinner. On Hail teams, Carbink and Cryogonal stand out as the best Hail setters, and Arctovish and Beartic are other Hail abusers that can break through bulky waters like Wishiwashi and Poliwrath. Frail breakers like Basculin and Shiftry also appreciate Alolan Sandslash's bulk, letting them switch out more easily. In return, they can break through the Water-types like Poliwrath and Wishiwashi, as well as Fire-types like Rapidash and Ninetales. no, sd snowslash isn't meant to pivot into hits like that. i don't remember that well what i meant by defensive utility of this mon, so just remove it. HOWEVER, I'd still like you to talk about pokemon that can force damage / status on snowslash's checks. Fire-types and Fighting-types are often able to easily revenge kill Alolan Sandslash, so defensive sponges like Rhydon and Alcremie help soak up those attacks to preserve Alolan Sandslash's longevity.

Protective Pads can be ran to prevent contact effects from Rocky Helmet Qwilfish and Flame Body Rapidash. Wide Lens boosts the accuracy of Triple Axel, which can be mildly useful on teams that need more consistent Ice-type coverage. While these options are certainly good, the extra damage from Life Orb, or the longevity gained from Leftovers, is more valuable.
