SANDSTOMP

Okay, this is my first RMT, so BARE WITH ME plzz. I have noticed that one of the simpler ways to battle is to basically pile up residual damage, control the weather and implement threats that can set up and sweep. This team tries to complete each aforementioned task and has been successful over wifi battling. it is a sandstorm team with a couple unique pokemon that benefit surprisingly from SS.

(Sorry guys i do not know how to input the pics of my pokes or else i would, you could explain and i could edit :D)

Tyranitar@leftovers
Queit: 252 HP / 52 Atk / 176 SpA / 28 Spe
substitute
focus punch
dark pulse
ice beam

I have found Smogon's Tyraniboah to be extremely successful as a sandstorm lead. With azelfs and weaviles running around, it handles them nicely while also putting sandstorm in play. As they sr i set up a sub and proceed to use one of my strong attacks. He packs quite a punch (literally) and also pops back in mid-game when i am in need of a special wall to wreak havoc. This is probably my favourite poke right now because he is so versatile.

Metagross@life orb
adamant: 252 attack/252hp
meteor mash
earthquake
thunderpunch
bullet punch

Metagross usually comes in after a poke has been killed or for a gyara counter. He basically just meteor mashes things to death and ko's with bullet punch. He handles the bulky waters that come in and try to stop ttar and gyara's sweep. He is one of my main scouts and generally forces some switches to help pick up residual damage through sr, spikes and sandstorm which all aid in him being to ko with mmash and bulletpunch subsequently

Gyarados@leftovers
adamant: 252 attack/252 speed
dragon dance
taunt
waterfall
stone edge

This is one of my dangerous sweepers. It may seem odd that he is on a sandstorm team, but this is why he holds leftovers, to make up the damage. Gyara comes in to taunt walls and set up, trying to crack the mid game wide open. He is my main infernape counter, who in fact terrifies ttar. Gyara is an all-out attacking machine and dents whatever will switch into it, which hopefully will have taken sr and spike damage after skarmory comes in. Gyara is a serious threat offensively but can also wall sweepers such as breloom and scizor with its typing and intimidate.

skarmory@leftovers
impish: 252 hp/252 defense
stealth rock
spikes
roost
roar

Alright, i needed a physical wall and someone to set up entry hazards. I found all of this in skarmory. I know that it is not recommended for skarm not to have any attacks, but truthfully, he doesn't need them. He simply sr's, spikes and roars, roosting whenever need. If a taunting threat comes in i simply switch to a different poke that will be able to threaten it instead. This is the main reason why this team paccks so much of a punch. Because it will be throwing mostly resisted hits at opponents it needs all the damage help it can get and the entry hasards set up by skarm greatly aid in warding off switched and simply forcing my opponent to take a meteor mash from a max attack metagross or a dd waterfall from gyara or even a fire blast from heatran. As you can see, there are many reasons why skarm does not need any physical attacks.

heatran@choice scarf
modest: 252 sp attck/252 speed
fire blast
earth power
dragon pulse
explosion

Heatran basically comes in whenever scizor, metagross or skarmory fear a fire attack for the flash fire boost. I rarely do fire blast after however and usually go with the safer dragon pulse with is surprisingly not expected. heatran is a great revenge killer and can force switches or make opponents take a fire blast. Again, the all out power of modest heatran's stabbed fire blast cannot be ignored. Heatran serves as a check for lucario's and scizors trying to set up too early as their boosted priority attacks do pitiful damage and he can threaten back with fire blast. Explosion is there to take out special walls although it is kind of a wasted moveslot. Any suggestions on what to play instead?

scizor@life orb
adamant: 252 attck/252 speed
swords dance
bullet punch
u-turn
superpower

Scizor is my early game scout popping in and out forcing damage help through u-turn adding to the deadly damage build up. He is also my end game sweeper. Scizor is a great poke that resists and can take many attacks and beats other threatening lucario trying to set up with superpower. He is my Latias counter who otherwise tears this team to pieces after heatran is gone.

The reason I chose a sandstorm type team is because i was sick of pokes recovering significant amounts of damage through leftovers. The damage dealt through the powerful attacks from tyranitar, metagross, gyrados, heatran and scizor leave marks on the opponents team that stick with lefty's gain.

This bulky yet powerful team has served me well but it still needs improvement. thank you for your help, it is appreciated

two things you are missing 4 evs on all your pokes bar ttar and you also need a rapid spin blocker. without a rapid spin blocker the 4 turns you spent laying entry hazzards will be erased in 1 turn. all spike stacking teams should have one and all good ones do. i would suggest rotom-a as it is by far the best available. normally i use the rest talker set as it just doesnt die and is not pursuit weak as spaming w.o.w. cripples would be pursuiters. scarf tar the most common rotom-a counter does low 30's after being burned with pursuit so between burn damage and t-bolt and rest talk rotom-a will defeat him with ease. since this is more of a offensive team you could also go with the choice scarf rotom-a athough he is quite possible the most scarf tar pursuit weak poke in ou. the 2 sets are:

rest talker
rotom-a @ leftovers
bold nature
252 hp / 120 def / 136 sp.def
will-o-wisp
thunderbolt
rest
sleep talk

choice scarf
rotom-h @ choice scarf
timid nature
252 hp / 4 sp.atk / 252 spe or 4 hp / 252 sp.atk / 252 spe
overheat
thunderbolt
shadowball / hp (ground/fight)
trick

the first spread on scarf is for extra bulk and second one is to hit harder hp fight is for ttar but will not 2hko so i recomend shadowball. good luck with your team.

Just going to say that. Also, don't use Superpower on SD Scizor. Or Uturn. Uturn wastes your boosts, and Superpower weakens them. Put Brick Break/Superpower. If you want to hit psychics, use pursuit/bug bite. If you use Uturn for scouting, swap it for Baton Pass. Gyarados and Metagross will love +2 attack.

In order to insert pictures into the thread right click on them and do a "copy image URL" then click on the icon that looks like a little picture of a mountain and copy the saved image into it.

here's an example:

Step one goto the smogon.com main page right click on the Entai and click "copy image URL"

Step 2: mouse of the icons at the top of the message box, and click on the one that is "insert image"

Step 3: CTRL+V the image URL in the text box that appears

it will look something like that in your text box, (without the spaces around the []'s

you can do this with nearly any image you find on the internet have fun making your RMT prettier :D

on a note for your team - Scizor;
Since you are using your Scizor as a switch in "wall" and planning on U-Turning with it to help scout your opponents team, may I suggest the choice band variant.

CB Scizor is well known, and commonly abused for it's excellent typing, and technician+stab bullet punch.

I would suggest it for this team, if you plan to use scizor as a scout, why not have the added power :). The advantage of band+technician pursuit can be excellent for trapping problem pokemon / killing those pesky scarf latias locked into dragon pulse.

Scizor - adamant@choice band
248 HP/252 atk/ 8 spe
Bullet punch
Pursuit
u-turn
superpower

thanks a lot guys, and who do u suggest i take out for rotom? IM planning on using the rest/talk set but who would u suggest i replace? metagross?

Simple changes to make:

Hidden Power Ice on Heatran is undoubtedly better than Dragon Pulse.

Seeing as you aren't running Drill Peck on Skarmory, use Whirlwind over Roar. Simply because you can phaze soundproof Pokemon

Possibly Explosion over Earthquake on Metagross

Can you handle Magnezone? It can trap and kill 3 of your steel types, t-bolt Gyarados and smash Tyranitar with Flash Cannon. Bulky Ground types such as Swampert or Gliscor can handle Magnezone, and should easily fit into your team with their Sandstorm immunity.

Thats all I can see. GL with your team. Hope I helped

First I think this is a very nice team but it definately needs a few modifications. First off, once Gyarados is gone I could see a Kindra in the Rain Running right through your team. Sure you can change the weather to Sandstorm with T-Tar but he won't like taking a Hydro Pump. I'm not sure exactly how you could fix this aside from changing the weather to Sandstorm with T-Tar and Revenging with something like Scarfgon on Scarf Latias.
And also If you're playing on Wifi you can't use Rotom formes so idk what else you could use to spinblock.
