Hi Y'all, some of you might recognize me from the battle server, but most of you probably won't. So, before I begin, I'd like to say hi to the smogon community and hope they accept me as a respectable member. Many thanks to all of you who have, and hopefully will help me along the pokepath.
So here's what we're looking at:
A fifth gen. sandstorm team that's hit 1260 in rating b4 plummeting right back down to hell.
I have about 3 months experience with this team, so I suppose I meet the time requirements.....
Well, here we go?!?!?!?!
RMT 5th gen. Sandstorm
Tyranitar @ Choice Scarf
4HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
Sand Stream
-Crunch
-Pursuit
-Superpower
-Stone Edge
The Star of the set: “The sandstorm origin”. Max Attack and Speed EVs are self explanatory, Max Speed gives me the most potential to outspeed opponents (Up to 115 max speed positive nature) with Choice Scarf. Max Attack for Maximum damage on opponents, and 4 HP EVs to increase bulk. Jolly nature to further increase speed. Crunch and Pursuit are utilized for STAB moves and for escaping revenge killers, a combination of Choice Scarf and Superpower to deal with opposing Tyranitar and other pokemon that resist both STABs. Stone Edge which is utilized to deal maximum damage, especially to flying-types.
Landorus @ Leftovers
4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
Sand Force
-Swords Dance
-Earthquake
-Stone Edge
-Substitute
Maximum attack and speed for the reasons listed above, this guy is one of my sandstorm abusers, and Sand Force serves it well at the most important of times. Swords Dance to push attack levels to extreme heights, and Earthquake and Stone Edge for STAB and perfect coverage bar very few pokemon. Substitute is utilized for scouting. This guy is my physical early game sweeper, and it does a good job in this area.
Thundurus @ Leftovers
4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
Prankster
-Nasty Plot
-Thunderbolt
-Hidden Power Ice
-Focus Blast
Maximum Special attack and Speed for the reasons listed above, this guy is my special early game sweeper, and does as well, in this area. Nasty Plot to raise Special Attack to a massive 698 Special attack, BoltBeam, or in this case, HP Ice, provides perfect coverage bar Magnezone, which Focus Blast hits.
Jirachi @ Choice Scarf
252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def
Adamant
Serene Grace
-Iron Head
-U-turn
-Fire Punch (Considering Ice Punch)
-Trick
This guy kinda works alone in my team, he sure pisses enough people off on a good day. It’s just me following IPL’s (kinda luckyish) win for ST7, but yeah, you’re standard haxrachi set, and it pisses more than enough people off. Considering Body Slam
Excadrill @ Air Balloon
4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant
Sand Rush
-Swords Dance
-Earthquake
-Rock Slide
-X-scissor
This is one of my 2 late game sweepers. This guy, with a swords dance, reaches 810 attack, and its 3 coverage moves can KO anybody but Gliscor (Which Thundurus WILL deal with) Air Balloon is for those who only have Ground moves to KO Excadrill, therefore, while they break the balloon, you get an SD setup, and since your speed is at +2 , you have a +2+2 sweeping opportunity
Latios @ Leftovers
4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid
-Calm Mind
-Draco Meteor (Considering Dragon Pulse)
-HP Fire
-Grass Knot
This guy is the second of my late game and special sweepers. It comes in, scares something away, and cleans things up with its perfect coverage moves. This thing, if no other function can inspire fear. However, I do not feel that it’s living up to it’s reputation and am considering a change (prbly gonna get banned too)
Well, hope you like my team!
Considering
-Replacing Latios with a special attacker (for reasons listed and since it's possibly gonna get banned)
-Using KG's Ttar set instead of Scarftar
-Using Ice Punch over Fire Punch to KO the much dreaded Gliscor (However, Scizor, Nattorei and Forry would then provide problems)
Threats
-Gliscor: It's actually pretty obvious, it walls my whole team bar Thunderus, one more reason I'm considering Ice Punch
-DD Ice Fang Gyarados (It has supereffective moves for EVERY single one of my pokemon, nuff said)
-Opposing Excadrill, if either Landorus and Excadrill are not at full health, this guy will gg me without thinking twice.
