Sandstorm Team

248.png

Tyranitar @ Leftovers
Adamant Nature
Sand Stream Ability
252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpDef
Stealth Rock
Crunch
Pursuit
Stone Edge

This guy's the most important member of my team, he provides the all important Sand Stream ability. I originally wanted to use Hippowdon because of his defensive abilities, but I was always told that Tyranitar was better than Hippowdon, so I chose Tyranitar, and apparently this is a pretty solid moveset for a lead Tyranitar. Stealth Rock is obvious on a lead pokemon in my opinion. Crunch and Pursuit are very solid STAB attacks, and Stone Edge is just broken as a STAB move with incredible power and a pretty solid critical hit ratio.

530.png

Excadrill @ Life Orb
Adamant Nature
Sand Rush Ability
4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Swords Dance
Earthquake
Rock Slide
Return /X-Scissor

This guy is like my favorite member of the team. After a Swords Dance, his attack stat is just insane, and can do serious damage to a team like a boss. Swords Dance was made for a pokemon like this, and honestly should be on every Excadrill (Aside from Choice Band of course :p). EQ is just broken after a Swords Dance, and Rock Slide is here because sadly he can't learn Stone Edge :(. I cannot decide between Return or X-Scissor on this set, seeing as both are good moves. Also I do have problems with this guy even though he is my favorite member (And the reason I built this team). He has horrid defenses, and I have seen some sets with Air Balloon, but I hate it how it "bursts" when he gets attacked. Give me opinions on this.

242.png

Blissey @ Leftovers
Bold Nature
Natural Cure
252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Sp.D
Aromatherapy
Softboiled
Seismic Toss
Toxic

Blissey is one of the best walls in the game in my honest opinion, it loses to many pokemon, but then again, every pokemon loses to another in some way. Toxic is there to badly poison the enemy team, and it is absolutely needed to stall, and Seismic Toss is the only way of Blissey to deal damage. Softboiled is there to heal it when I feel necessary, and Aromatherapy is just too good when my opponent inflicts a status condition on someone who can't handle it.

149.png

Dragonite @ Lum Berry
Mild Nature
Inner Focus Ability
4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Earthquake
Flamethrower
Dragon Tail
Roost

My mixed attacker is Dragonite, and he's been one of my favorites since R&B came out. Access to Earthquake, which is still powerful despite it not being a STAB, and with only 1 extra stat point in attack. Flamethrower > Fire Blast for Accuracy reasons. Dragon Tail is one of my favorite new moves, it can force out other pokemon, and remove all stat changes that pokemon had, forcing them to reset all the work they had to do to gain those boosts. Roost is there for Recovery. I'm debating wether or not to swap this guy for a Salamence, Haxorus, or Garchomp. The reason I am mentioning Haxorus is because he is a freaking beast.

579.png

Reuniclus @ Life Orb
Bold Nature
Magic Guard Ability
252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Calm Mind
Recover
Psyshock
Focus Blast

This guy is my wall/SpA at the same time, after a few calm minds, he can stand up to almost anything. Recover gets back lost HP and makes the opponent struggle to make it lose more HP again. Psyshock wrecks any Physical walls, and Focus Blast wrecks any darks that think they can destroy Reuniclus.

205.png

Foretress @ Leftovers
Relaxed Nature
Sturdy Ability
252 HP / 112 Atk / 144 Def
Spikes
Rapid Spin
Gyro Ball
Earthquake

My Rapid Spinner..
Foretress seems to have lost some playability imo, but I still love him..
Spikes > Toxic Spikes as it's a personal preference. Rapid Spin is obvious. Gyro Ball inflicts massive damage due to his low speed. Earthquake > Explosion as this guy is my spinner, and I don't want to lose him.
I am hearing that Ferrothorn is surpassing Foretress in many ways, so I might try him out..

Let me know what you guys think! This is my first team in a while.

Hello UnderOATHfan, this team is going to struggle versus other Excadrill that happen to be faster than you, since you're using an Adamant nature with no Air Balloon. Since you really have almost nothing to take Excadrill's attacks, it can run through this team with ease, even if the opponent decides not to run an Air Balloon themselves. Also, it may not seem like it but you're actually weak to Conkeldurr. Since you have opted to run Psychock over Psychic on your Reunilcus, Bulk Up Conkeldurr and other Bulk Up Fighting mons in general are going to be a pain in your side. Since you opted for Psyshock over Psychic on your Reuniclus, Swords Dance Gliscor is an impending problem as well. It can absorb status that Blissey tries to throw at it with Toxic Orb and easily set up and sweep this team with its boosted moves. Finally, you're probably going to have a lot of Garchomp problems as it sets up on quite a few of your mons and can pretty easily bust holes in this team, especially if it packs substitute. For starters, I'd opt for Psychic over Pyshock on your Reuniclus. This will allow you to better prepare yourself against so many threats such as Bulk Up Fighting mons, SD Gliscor, and Hippowdon. Next, I would try to run a Standard Bronzong over your Forretress. This allows you to take on threats such as Garchomp, Latios, and Excadrill very easily, which solves the majority of your problems.

Bronzong @ Leftovers
Sassy 252 HP | 168 Def | 88 SpD Levitate
Stealth Rocks | Gyro Ball | Earthquake | Hidden Power [Ice]

Finally, I'd try running a different set on Tyranitar, you need to take out mons such as Ferrathorn and Gliscor, which can be trouble to this team in the right circumstances. Ferrathorn especially gets free layers on a lot of your team members, which is never good. Also, all that special defense is a bit unnecessary on Tyranitar. You could be investing elsewhere and still be able to take on similar threats. If I were you, I'd try out this set:

Tyranitar @ Air Balloon
Sassy 252 HP | 180 SpA | 76 SpD Sandstream
Ice Beam | Crunch | Superpower | Fire Blast

Overall this team is quite solid, gl.
