  • Tornadus is the defining Tailwind user in the DOU metagame. Prankster allows Tornadus to set Tailwind with an incredible degree of consistency. This in combination with the offensive output, coming from its high Special Attack and Bleakwind Storm, have made Tornadus a cornerstone in offensive team compositions.
  • Bleakwind Storm is Tornadus's best attack. A strong spread move that allows Tornadus to exert an offensive pressure that is difficult for the opponent to disregard. In particular this metagame has numerous common Grass-types, among them Ogeron-Wellspring and Sinistcha, which are all greatly threatened by super effective Bleakwind Storms.
  • Tornadus's offensive presence is further accentuated by the Focus Sash allowing maximum investment into Special Attack and Speed. Critically, having max Speed enables Tornadus to outrun and pressure Ogerpon-Wellspring and Ogerpon-Hearthflame.
  • Icy Wind provides another means of speed control. Though normally quite weak it is able to 2HKO Landorus, one of the most common Pokemon in the metagame. The damage is also significant against the tier's many Focus Sash users, most notably Glimmora, Chien-Pao, and opposing Tornadus. Breaking their Focus Sash while simultaneously dropping their speed and allowing Tornadus's partner to follow up. This move is most effective against opposing offensive Tailwind based teams, as stacking both forms of speed control provides the edge against a team with just Tailwind.
  • Taunt shuts down many support orientated Pokemon entirely. Preventing them from using highly disruptive moves like Spore, Trick Room, and opposing Tailwind. Though because of Prankster it is unable to affect Dark-types such as Incineroar or Ting-Lu, as well as being blocked by Armor Tail and Psychic Terrain.
  • Sunny Day activates Protosynthesis and boosts Fire-type attackers such as Chi-Yu and Ogerpon-Hearthflame. Similarly, Rain Dance supports Water-types like Ogerpon-Wellspring, in addition to increasing the accuracy of Bleakwind Storm and Sandsear Storm. Both of these weather options also have utility in disrupting opposing teams, weakening the corresponding types and blocking weather reliant effects like Aurora Veil and Swift Swim.
  • Focus Sash's defensive property allows Tornadus to forgo a defensive Tera type in favor of the utility of Ghost-typing. Tera Ghost's primary value is in evading Fake Out, and the less common Extreme Speed, allowing Tornadus to not be disrupted and set Tailwind on a critical turn. In practice however, Tornadus is not a common user of Terastalization as it's usually more valuable to save it for one of the team's offensive powerhouses.
  • As Tailwind is a common part of many teams it is not uncommon to have your Tailwind essentially neutralized by an opponent setting their own. In these Tailwind mirrors it's often advised to try and offset your own Tailwind by a turn or two, with the aim of having the speed advantage after their Tailwind has ended. Opting to use Icy Wind can also provide an advantage during matched Tailwinds by lowering the Speed of both opposing Pokemon.
  • Tornadus fits best on teams with offensive Pokemon that need their Speed patching up. Landorus, Gholdengo and, Regidrago are all great examples of offensive powerhouses that find themselves outsped by faster threats such as Chien-Pao and Ogerpon. Even slow Pokemon like Iron Hands and Ursaluna-Bloodmoon can greatly benefit from partnering with Tornadus. With some speed investment they're able to use the Tailwind to outspeed Landorus and Ogerpon-Wellspring, while also benefitting from Tornadus's ability to check the Grass-types that trouble them both.

Does sash + ev spread need to be explained? it feels pretty basic, but it is also the main distinguishing factor against the bulkier torn sets, alongside icy wind.
and, is the stuff about staggering tailwind, usage tip essentially, beyond the scope of the analysis?

It is a little out of scope, but IMO if you can explain it in a way that isn't specifically referential to other sets, I think it's good to have.

This in combination with the offensive output, coming from its high Special Attack and Bleakwind Storm, have made Tornadus a cornerstone in offensive team compositions. Tornadus' ability to specifically target so many of the best supports in the metagame so freely with taunt/icy wind/weather control may be worth mentioning as part of what makes it the premier tailwind support
  • Bleakwind Storm is Tornadus's best attack. A strong spread move that allows Tornadus to exert an offensive pressure that is difficult for the opponent to disregard. Expand this section and add offensive targets, especially Ogerpon-Wellspring and the other grass types. Tornadus' arguable biggest strength especially on sash is its ability to greatly threaten so many of the best supports in the metagame thanks to them being grass types.
  • Add a point discussing how focus sash further accentuates Bleakwind's offensive presence by allowing tornadus to fully invest in its offense stats, and critically allowing it to outspeed Ogerpon.
  • Icy Wind provides another means of speed control. Though quite weak, the damage can be significant particularly in breaking the Focus Sash of opposing Glimmora, Chien-Pao, and Tornadus while simultaneously dropping their speed. The offensive merits of icy wind into specifically Landorus may be worth mentioning alongside sash breaking. As is Tornadus is one of the best pokemon versus Lando-i thanks to its typing and icy wind 2hkoing This move is most effective against opposing offensive Tailwind based teams, as stacking both forms of speed control provides the edge against a team with just Tailwind.
  • Taunt shuts down many support orientated Pokemon entirely. Preventing them from using highly disruptive moves like Spore or Trick Room and opposing Tailwind. Though because of Prankster it is unable to affect Dark-types such as Incineroar or Ting-Lu, as well as being blocked by Armor Tail and Psychic Terrain.

In practice however, Tornadus is not a common user of Terastalization as it's usually more valuable to save it for one of the team's offensive powerhouses. This section could be rephrased/expanded. Focus sash's defensive consistency is the primary reason Tornadus can choose to neglect having a more defensive tera and should be mentioned, unlike with cloak/sitrus sets which often opt into tera steel to survive longer. Specifically mentioning how tera ghost prevents sash from being broken and prevents your turn from being disrupted can expand this section and make it flow into the final sentence a bit better

Another line discussing slower pokemon like hands ursaluna-BM and incineroar that appreciate tailwind to get over pokemon like Landorus and wellspring could fit well here, and a sentence for teammates that specifically appreciate Bleakwind storm's ability to threaten out common supporting grass types like amoonguss and sinistcha for iron hands could both help sell the point of this pokemon being appreciated on so many teams

Willing to discuss edits on discord, main thing I noticed here was sash tornadus' best benefit is maximizing tornadus' offensive output compared to other torn items, especially into Ogerpon-Wellspring and the analysis was mostly focused on the supportive qualities of torn

Implemented, but of course feel welcome to comment on that
The first point I haven't been able to think of a way to incorporate it into that bp without it reading awkwardly. I'll keep thinking about it through the day though.
