[SET COMMENTS]

With a solid Speed tier and its incredibly high attacking power, Sawk makes for an excellent revenge killer that fits well on offense and balance teams. Choice Scarf allows Sawk to threaten foes such as Alolan Persian, Kangaskhan, and non-Choice Scarf Cincinno. Knock Off targets Ghost- and Psychic-types such as Froslass, Gourgeist-S, and Uxie while also crippling common switch-ins such as Cofagrigus, Clefairy, and Tangela. Earthquake hits Poison-types such as Garbodor, Qwilfish, and Skuntank. Stone Edge lets Sawk deal with Flying-types such as Rotom-S, Altaria, and Golbat. Mold Breaker allows Sawk to hit Levitate users such as Uxie and Rotom with Earthquake. Alternatively, Inner Focus allows Sawk to beat Qwilfish with Earthquake, as Inner Focus nullifies its Intimidate, and not flinch from Kangaskhan's Fake Out. However, don't expect to get free turns from Kangaskhan trying to flinch you, as the opponent should notice the absent Mold Breaker activation message.

While Sawk has super effective coverage for Pokemon that resist or are immune to Close Combat, it still needs Pokemon physical walls such as Cofagrigus, Garbodor, and Altaria to be weakened in order to KO them and successfully clean. Therefore, special attackers such as Skuntank, Rotom, and Basculin that can deal with them make for great partners. Entry hazard setters such as Ferroseed, Piloswine, and Qwilfish help to wear down Sawk's common switch-ins, as most do not have access to reliable recovery. Pivots such as Uxie, Rotom-S, and Wishiwashi circumvent Sawk's mediocre bulk by safely bringing it onto the field, with the former also having access to Future Sight, which dissuades Poison-types from switching in.

[SET COMMENTS]

Choice Band Sawk forgoes Choice Scarf's increase in Speed for more wallbreaking power, letting Close Combat net 2HKOs on neutral physical walls like Pyukumuku and Gurdurr. Knock Off pressures Ghost- and Psychic-types like Palossand and Uxie while also crippling common switch-ins such as Tangela; Close Combat threatens a 2HKO on Tangela once its Eviolite has been removed. Earthquake punishes Poison-types like Qwilfish and Garbodor, while Stone Edge nails Flying-types such as Rotom-S and Altaria.

Choice Band Sawk is vulnerable to being revenge killed by faster Flying- and Psychic-types such as Rotom-S and Jynx, so switch-ins such as Rhydon and Ferroseed are appreciated. These Pokemon also have the added benefit of providing entry hazards to help wear down its switch-ins. Special setup sweepers such as Frosmoth and Alcremie benefit greatly from Sawk's ability to break past specially defensive walls such as Ferroseed. Sawk also appreciates the removal of Ghost-types, so pairing it with Dark-types like Skuntank, Shiftry, and Alolan Persian is a good idea. Future Sight Uxie is a great partner, as it punishes the physical walls such as Garbodor and Cofagrigus that switch in on Sawk and can also pivot Sawk in safely with U-turn. Sawk can also weaken the aforementioned walls into the KO range of physical cleaners like Agility Kingler and Swords Dance Silvally-Ground.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Poison Jab lets Sawk 2HKO Alcremie and Clefairy, but this requires giving up one of its other coverage moves, which generally isn't preferred because they target more Pokemon.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Ghost-types**: Cofagrigus, Palossand, and Jellicent can switch into any of Sawk's attacks with ease, especially when they are holding a Colbur Berry, and have access to recovery moves. Cofagrigus can set up on Sawk, while Palossand can set Stealth Rock.

**Physical Walls**: Tangela, Uxie, and Altaria can switch into Sawk and either cripple it with their status moves or deal significant damage with their STAB moves. Tangela and Altaria must be careful of switching into Knock Off and Stone Edge, respectively, as Choice Band Sawk can 2HKO Tangela if it has lost its Eviolite and can KO Altaria with some prior chip damage. While Garbodor and Qwilfish must be wary of switching into Earthquake, they can easily switch into Close Combat and wear Sawk down with Rocky Helmet.

**Faster Threats**: Faster attackers such as Rotom, Basculin, and Cinccino can revenge kill Sawk if it has been slightly worn down. However, none of them can afford to risk directly switching into one of Sawk's attacks.

With a solid Speed tier and its incredibly high attacking power, Sawk makes for an excellent revenge killer that fits well on offensive and balance teams. The increase of speed from Choice Scarf allows Sawk to threaten foes such as Lycanroc, Alolan Persian, Kangaskhan, non-Choice Scarf Basculin, and non-Choice Scarf Cincinno. (typically examples should be kept 4 or less, of these I'd remove Basculin since Aqua Jet threats you if you are chipped.) Knock Off targets Ghost-types such as Froslass and Gourgeist-S, while also removing items from common switch-ins such as Cofagrigus, Clefairy, and Tangela. Earthquake hits Poison-types such as Garbodor, Qwilfish, and Skuntank. Stone Edge lets Sawk deal with Flying-types such as Rotom-S, Altaria, and Golbat. Mold Breaker allows Sawk to hit Levitate users such as Uxie and Rotom, with Earthquake. Alternatively, Inner Focus allows Sawk to beat Qwilfish as Sawk does not receive the Attack drop. (you also arent flinched by Kangaskan's Fake Out which is notable imo)

Since Sawk is a physical wallbreaker, Special setup sweepers such as Fromosth and Alcremie benefit greatly from Sawk's ability to break past specially defensive walls. (Could be worthwhile to mention that Sawk weakens stuff like Ferroseed so they can sweep late-game.) Sawk also appreciates the removal of Ghost-types so it can freely spam its potent Close Combat (fluff)so pairing it with a Dark-type like Skuntank, Shiftry, and Alolan Persian is a good idea.

Choice Band Sawk forgoes the increase in Speed for more wallbreaking power, letting Close Combat net 2HKOes on neutral physical walls like Pyukumuku and Carbink -> you can find a better example than this (Gurdurr for example). Knock Off pressures Ghost- and Psychic-types like Palossand and Uxie, while also removing items from common switch-ins such as Tangela; Close Combat threatens a 2HKO on Tangela once its Eviolite has been removed. Earthquake punishes Poison-types like Qwilfish and Garbodor, while Stone Edge OHKOes Flying-types such as Rotom-S and Cramorant Altaria (Cramorant is already 2HKOed by CC and Koff, so idt it's worthe mentioning it as a SE target).

Choice Band Sawk is a far more vulnerable to being revenge killed by faster Flying- and Psychic-types such as Rotom-S and Jynx, so switch-ins such as Rhydon and Galarian Stunfisk I'm not a fan of Stunfisk-G here as it only really fits on bulkier team in which CB Sawk isn't seen. These Pokemon also have the added benefit of providing Stealth Rock to help wear down Sawk's switch-ins. Special setup sweepers such as Fromosth and Alcremie benefit greatly from Sawk's ability to break past specially defensive walls such as Ferroseed. Sawk also appreciates the removal of Ghost-types so pairing it with a Dark-type like Skuntank, Shiftry, and Alolan Persian is a good idea. Mention Future Sight Uxie, it's an insane partner. **Physical Walls**: Tangela, Uxie, and Altaria can switch into Sawk and either cripple it with their status moves,(RC) or deal significant damage with their STAB moves. Tangela and Altaria must be careful of switching into Knock Off(capitalize) and Stone Edge respectively, as Choice Band Sawk can 2HKO Tangela if it has lost its Eviolite,(RC) and can KO Altaria with some prior chip damage. While Garbodor and Qwilfish must be wary of switching into Earthquake, they can easily switch into Close Combat easily and wear it Sawk down with Rocky Helmet.

**Faster Threats(capitalize)**: Faster attackers such as Rotom, Basculin, and Cincinno Cinccino can revenge kill Sawk if it has been slightly worn down. However, none of these them can afford to risk directly switching into one of Sawk's attacks.

[SET COMMENTS]

With a solid Speed tier and its incredibly high attacking power, Sawk makes for an excellent revenge killer that fits well on offensive and balance teams. Choice Scarf allows Sawk to threaten foes such as Alolan Persian, Kangaskhan, and non-Choice Scarf Cincinno. Knock Off targets Ghost- and Psychic-types such as Froslass, Gourgeist-S, and Uxie while also removing items from crippling common switch-ins such as Cofagrigus, Clefairy, and Tangela. Alternatively, Inner Focus allows Sawk to beat Qwilfish with Earthquake, as Sawk does not receive the Attack drop and also ignores the flinch effect of Inner Focus nullifies its Intimidate, and not flinch from Kangaskhan's Fake Out. However, don't expect to get free turns from Kangaskhan trying to flinch you, as the opponent should notice the absent Mold Breaker activation message. (if you think this isn't relevant enough / correct enough / something people may think, ignore it / don't add it.)

While Sawk has super effective coverage for Pokemon that resist or are immune to its STAB attacks Close Combat, it still needs Pokemon physical walls such as Cofagrigus, Garbodor, and Altaria to be weakened in order to KO them and successfully clean. Therefore, special attackers such as Skuntank, Rotom, and Basculin that can deal with them make for great partners, as they can deal with the physical walls that often impede Sawk's cleaning attempts. Entry hazard setters such as Ferroseed, Piloswine, and Qwilfish help to wear down Sawk's common switch-ins, as most do not have access to reliable recovery. Pivots such as Uxie, Rotom-S, and Wishiwashi circumvent Sawk's mediocre bulk by safely bringing it onto (was "on to") the field, with the former also having access to Future Sight, (AC) that which dissuades Poison-types from switching in.

[SET COMMENTS]

Choice Band Sawk forgoes the Choice Scarf's increase in Speed for more wallbreaking power, letting Close Combat net 2HKOes on neutral physical walls like Pyukumuku and Gurdurr. Knock Off pressures Ghost- and Psychic-types like Palossand and Uxie while also removing items from crippling common switch-ins such as Tangela; Close Combat threatens a 2HKO on Tangela once its Eviolite has been removed.

Special setup sweepers such as Fromosth Frosmoth and Alcremie benefit greatly from Sawk's ability to break past specially defensive walls such as Ferroseed. Sawk can also weaken the aforementioned Pokemon walls (I imagine?) into the KO range of physical cleaners like Agility Kingler and Swords Dance Silvally-Ground.

Other Options
=============

Poison Jab lets Sawk 2HKO Alcremie and Clefairy, but this requires giving up one of its other coverage moves, which generally isn't preferred as because (alternatively, add comma after "preferred" and keep as) they target more Pokemon.
