While Sawk cannot keep up with the power level in PU, it is one of the best Pokemon in ZU. With a solid Attack stat and Speed tier, Sawk can check Pokemon like Alolan Persian, Cinccino, and Kangaskhan. Knock Off allows Sawk to cripple item-reliant foes like Tangela and Altaria and hit common Fighting-resistant and -immune foes like Uxie and Gourgeist formes. Thanks to Mold Breaker, Earthquake hits Rotom as well as Poison-types like Silvally-Poison and Qwilfish. Stone Edge does immediate damage to Altaria and Rotom-S. Sawk pairs nicely with wallbreakers like Aurorus and Thievul, which handle bulky foes such as Altaria and Tangela with ease. In return, it can check Pokemon like Alolan Sandslash and Rapidash. Sawk also synergizes well with pivots such as Wishiwashi and Rotom. Since most of Sawk's answers are grounded, entry hazard setters like Alolan Sandslash and Qwilfish are useful. Steel- and Poison-types like Klinklang and Skuntank, which force out Fairy-types such as Clefairy and Alcremie, also make for good partners.

Qwilfish and other Poison-types like Skuntank are solid partners for removing Fairy-types, namely Clefairy and Alcremie Qwilfish isn't that great at removing Fairy-types as Alcremie ignores Taunt and Qwilfish often doesn't run Poison Jab, I'd rather change this point to Poison- and Steel-types that force Fairies out.
