SB Stallteam, built around Celebi.

I've used this team for quite a while now, but since wobba got into play, it seems like the amount of good battlers on shoddy has decreased. So to remove the dust of this team, I decided to post it, and maybe add some improvements. It's a stallteam, built around my own celebi set:

Gliscor @ Leftovers
Ability: Hyper Cutter
EVs: 252 HP/6 Atk/252 Def
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Ice Fang
- Roost
- Stealth Rock
Lead, SR setup, and secondary wall. I always find stealth rock very usefull to set up inmediatly. Because of the oh so popular threat of garchomp, I decided to give it Ice Fang, and it already slaughtered dozens of landsharks (and the occasional DDmence). Though it lacks Aerial Ace, I use it as my main heracross counter, stalling with Roost and chipping away damage with Toxic Spikes and EQ.

Celebi @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP/252 Def/6 SDef
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Leech Seed
- Grass Knot
- Recover
- Protect
Core, annoyer, staller, and CB scouter. with Leech Seed, and Toxic Spikes, damage adds fast on the opponent, Toxifying more pokémon while they switch in. With protect, it beats every CBt Pursuiter in the game: Protect, if it uses pursuit, stay in and stall (CB Pursuit from TTar does about 40% damage). If some other Dark move is coming your way, switch to Lucario or Heatran for sweeping, or Forretress to set up, whatever you desire. Also a great way of nailing Heracross, who tend to switch in a lot on Celebi without Psychic.

Forretress @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP/192 Def/66 SDef
Relaxed nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Rapid Spin
- Light Screen
- Toxic Spikes
- Gyro Ball

Wall, Toxic Spikes setup, spinner and support, quite self-explaining. Light Screen helps out almost my entire team, making Celebi near immortal, Spiritomb a blissey-worthy special wall, and giving easier switchins for Lucario and Heatran. And of course, it lets Forretress survive 2

turns against Magnezone (if it's lacking HP Fire), so I can setup Toxic Spikes.
Lucario @ Life Orb
Ability: Steadfast
EVs: 6 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Swords Dance
- Close Combat
- Extremespeed
- Crunch
Physical sweeper. Rule #1 of stalling: always have something to clean up the mess. Lucario does this. With a swords dance and Toxic Spikes/Stealth Rock support, this thing rips lots of physical walls apart. Hippowdon doesn't survive a boosted Close Combat after switching in while SR and Tspikes are active, cress eats a Crunch, and go on. Extremespeed is also very usefull when cleaning up pokémon that are weakened by Celebi.

Heatran @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 18 Atk/240 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Earth Power
- Fire Blast
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Explosion
Special sweeper. When D/P just came out, I always thought Heatran was worthless, and now it's on almost every team I make. Some might notice that This Heatran is way faster than the normal Scarftran. This set outspeeds the outspeeders of Scarf Heracross, and this set often sweeps half a team, ripping trough revengekillers like Dugtrio who think they can outspeed it. I almost never use Explosion, so I decided to use Timid instead of a -def nature.

Spiritomb @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP/38 Atk/220 SDef
Sassy nature (+SDef, -Spd)
- Hidden Power [Fighting]
- Pursuit
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
PP staller, special wall and status absorbtion. Though I have to admid that it isn't the best of special walls, it works good enough for me. The given spread OHKOs Alakazam, Mismagius and Gengar when they switch out on a Pursuit, and 2HKOs TTar with HP Fight. Toxic Spikes and Pressure are a very mean combination.

Thanks in advance for your rate.

Wow, a stall team with out Blissey, kudos.

At first glance the team seemd very solid.

The Gliscor starter confuses me for some reason. I find Gyarados, MixMence etc to be very popular leads that demolish Gliscor. Also, I find Gyarados to be the biggest threat to this team, Celebi can stall it well but even after 2 Dances, Ice Fangs and Taunt can cause some major problems, especially at late game. Mixmence basically destroys everything on this team. The only thing you have to stop it is a revenge kill or good prediction on Heatrans part.

I was going to say put Shed Shell on Forry but you really need the leftovers Recovery. Consider EQ > Reflect or some SpDef. Magnzone can switch in on Forry, and Heatran using HP Ice. Light screen can be good pair up with EQ. I've never been a fan of Gyroball.

Spiritbomb might 2hko with HP fight, but Crunch or Stoneedge from a CB tar can nearly OHKO your set. Try some defense EVs on tomb. For some crazy stall you can consider using Protect/Spite or something lol

Interesting Celebi, but, with reflect in play it really doesn't need *that* much Defense. Give Celebi some speed and SpAtt. If you're that afraid of Pursuit, Reflect helps out fine, no need for so much Def. And from what i've seen, Grass Knot 2hko's Tyran anyway with some decent SpAtt. Heal Bell would help out some to > Reflect.

The Heatran is alright I guess. I'm surprised you havn't used Explosion at all. When I used to run that set I would kill Blissey almost every time lol. For an option though, you could run Dragon Pulse > Explosion and HP electric > HP Ice. Your Scarftran outspeeds Gyarados after one DD anyway.

CMJirachi and CM/Rest Cune and some nasty Plotters like Azelf can cause some serious problems. Togekiss with Aura Sphere is gg too.

Cool team, I might actually try this out!

thanks for the compliment!

Gliscor is indeed a bit of an odd lead, but as you said, my team has a slight gyara weak. By setting up Stealth Rock in the first turn, Gyara can most of the time be countered by celebi. That, and nothing else on my team really fits the lead idea, and swapping something just to get a better lead seemed like a bad idea to me.

EQ and Light Screen on forretress sound like a good idea. I'll try it out.

I might change the EVs for spiritomb, but only if I'm sure about using Light Screen. Spiritomb is the best bet I have as a special wall, so I wanted to make it as defensive as possible on that side of the spectrum.

I swapped around a hell of a lot with Celebi's EVs, and I decided maximum defence is the best option. Reflect is only up for 5 turns, and because Celebi needs to stall, I don't like the idea of relying solely on Reflect.

I indead thought about Dragon Pulse and HP Electric, but the smogon analysis states it won't OHKO the dragons anymore then (I have to admid I didn't bother to calculate it myself).

I am aware of the SAtk booster weak, but aside from using Light Screen, I personally don't see a solutoin.

Umm, Celebi beats Gyara almost every time and he does have a Scarfer who can come in and outspeed even if Gyara has a single DD, then Explode on it. If Gyara tries to get two DDs Celebi will beat it.

Very nice team indeed, especially since Celebi wins and your team resists all of its weaknesses. 4 pokes that resist bug and Gliscor means Heracross is no issue which most stall teams can't say.

Why thank you. I'm a big Celebi fan myself, too. In fact, this team was originally to use some stuff I always wanted to use but never got the time for. In this case, Toxic Spikes and Celebi.

humpty bumpty.

I made some changes to the team: Heatran is now Timid, but I decided to keep Explosion for in case of emergency. Forretress got Light screen instead of Reflect, and I put the Atk EVs into SDef.

The only problem I could see would be the special leads forcing your gliscor out potentially opening up your team for Gyarados. Or something :p

Since I never use Explosion with Heatran, I was thinking about swapping Explosion for Will-o-Wisp. It could burn Gyara's that switchin after they notice I don't carry HP Electric.

Opinions?
