VGC 21 [SC] Suicune, Clefairy, and Togekiss

Suicune

[SET]
name: Support
move 1: Scald
move 2: Tailwind
move 3: Snarl
move 4: Ice Beam / Helping Hand
item: Sitrus Berry
ability: Inner Focus
nature: Bold
evs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD

[SET COMMENTS]

* Suicune's great bulk and supporting options allow it to be a great help to its team with moves like Tailwind and Helping Hand. Additionally, it is a nuisance to the opposition with its damage-reducing moves such as Snarl and Scald.

* Scald is Suicune's Water-type move of choice, as it can severely cripple physical threats such as Glastrier and Metagross with its burn chance.

* Tailwind allows Suicune's teammates to outspeed fast threats such as Dragapult and Venusaur in sun. Tailwind works especially with Suicune because of its ability Inner Focus, preventing it from getting flinched.

* Snarl allows Suicune to neuter the damage of special attackers such as Spectrier, Charizard, and Tapu Fini.

* Ice Beam can hit Pokemon such as Landorus-T and Garchomp for massive damage, as well as Grass-types such as Rillaboom and Whimsicott that Suicune would otherwise struggle with. However, Suicune can also run Helping Hand to increase the damage output of its teammates.

Clefairy

[SET]
name: Support
move 1: Follow Me
move 2: Helping Hand / Sing
move 3: Dazzling Gleam / Moonblast / After You
move 4: Protect
item: Eviolite
ability: Friend Guard
nature: Bold / Relaxed
evs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD

[SET COMMENTS]

* Clefairy can provide amazing support to its teammates, whether it's from Follow Me, Friend Guard, or any of its other plethora of support options.

* Follow Me is an excellent move to support frailer teammates such as Spectrier and Urshifu-S, letting them attack free of charge. Follow Me can also absorb Max Moves, as all of them are single-targeting moves.

* Sing, while inconsistent, can be extremely deadly. Pokemon such as Metagross may Dynamax and target Clefairy's threatening partner, such as Dragapult or Spectrier, only to get put to sleep by Sing and effectively waste its Dynamax. However, Helping Hand is a more consistent alternative useful for increasing the damage output of Clefairy's teammate.

* Dazzling Gleam provides Clefairy with a spread move to pick off weakened foes as well as break Focus Sashes. Moonblast is a stronger alternative to Dazzling Gleam that can also drop the foe's Special Attack, but it doesn't have the benefit of being a spread move. Clefairy can also ditch any attacking moves and go with After You, which is useful for letting fast teammates such as Kartana and Thundurus still move first under Trick Room.

Togekiss

[SET]
name: Support
move 1: Dazzling Gleam / Air Slash
move 2: Follow Me
move 3: Yawn / Helping Hand
move 4: Protect
item: Babiri Berry / Safety Goggles / Wacan Berry
ability: Super Luck / Serene Grace
nature: Bold
evs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD

[SET COMMENTS]

* Togekiss's bulk and great defensive typing, as well as its variety of support options such as Yawn, Follow Me, and Helping Hand, allow it to be an excellent support Pokemon.

* Dazzling Gleam lets Togekiss break Focus Sashes and pick off weakened foes even through redirection. Dazzling Gleam also has a 1/8 chance to be a critical hit due to Super Luck, which can deal big damage. Alternatively, Air Slash can hit Pokemon such as Amoonguss and Venusaur harder as well as be a nuisance to slower Pokemon such as Porygon2 and Dusclops with a nasty 60% flinch rate when paired with Serene Grace.

* Follow Me allows frail teammates such as Urshifu-S and Kartana to fire off attacks without fear of getting blown away by a strong attack, even absorbing any Max Move because they are all single targeting. It also helps with status conditions aimed to cripple teammates, such as burn from Will-O-Wisp and sleep from Spore and Sleep Powder. Follow Me is also excellent at helping setup sweepers such as Rotom-W and Spectrier snowball.

* Yawn allows Togekiss to pressure Dynamaxed Pokemon to either switch or be put to sleep, either way leaving the opposition severely crippled. Togekiss can also go with Helping Hand, however, which is useful for increasing the damage production of teammates.

* Babiri Berry allows Togekiss to take attacks from Metagross and Kartana better, while Safety Goggles completely shuts down Sleep Powder and Spore attempts from Venusaur and Amoonguss. Alternatively, Wacan Berry allows it to take hits from Regieleki and Thundurus better.

[SET COMMENTS]

* Suicune's bulk and support options allow it to be a great help to its team with moves like Tailwind and Helping Hand, as well as being a nuisance to the opposition with its damage-reducing moves such as Snarl and Scald.

* Scald is Suicune's water move of choice. It is an extremely helpful and spammable move as even Pokemon that resist it can be extremely crippled by the burn it can inflict. I would reword this to explicitly mention desired burn targets - a burned groudon and calyrex-i are way less effective

* Tailwind is an especially good move on Suicune because of its synergy with Inner Focus. Because it can't get Faked Out, and its great bulk, Suicune almost always gets Tailwind up for its teammates. this is fine but see if you can make this read a little clearer

* Snarl allows Suicune to neuter the damage of special attackers such as Kyogre, Yveltal, and Lapras. switch for calyrex-s/charizard/kyogre

* Ice Beam can hit Pokemon such as Landorus-T and Garchomp for massive damage, as well as grass types such as Rillaboom and Whimsicott that Suicune would otherwise struggle with.

* Helping Hand can increase Suicune's teammates attacking capabilities, it is especially helpful against Rillaboom to out-prioritize Grassy Glide.
normally for support moves like helping hand I think they're best left in the overview. think this applies here. the rilla case was way too specific either way

Clefairy

[SET]
name: Support
move 1: Follow Me
move 2: Helping Hand / Sing
move 3: Dazzling Gleam / Moonblast / Icy Wind / After You
move 4: Protect
item: Eviolite
ability: Friend Guard
nature: Bold / Relaxed
evs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD

[SET COMMENTS]

* Clefairy can provide amazing support to its teammates, whether it's from Follow Me, Friend Guard, or any of its other plethora of support options.

* Follow Me is an excellent move to support frailer, offensive teammates, redirecting attacks into Clefiarys phenomenal bulk. Follow Me also has the benefit of redirecting Will-O-Wisps as well as other status conditions to let Clefairys teammates not get crippled. just keep the same points from your togekiss follow me, including the comment i left about max moves

* Helping Hand supports Clefairys even further by increasing their damage output.

* Dazzling Gleam provides Clefairy with a spread move to pick off weakened opponents as well as break Focus Sashes, Icy Wind can do the same thing but also provides speed control, however, it is much weaker than Dazzling Gleam. Moonblast is a stronger alternative to these two that can also drop the opponent's Special Attack, but it doesn't have the benefit of being a spread move.

* After You is a unique move that allows fast teammates such as Calyrex-S and Thundurus-I to still move first under Trick Room.

all the status moves are pretty standard so i think they can be explained in the overview. I think only sing and the fairy moves would need their own lines.

move 4: Yawn / Helping Hand / Protect
item: Wacan Berry / Babiri Berry / Safety Goggles / Lum Berry
ability: Super Luck / Serene Grace
nature: Bold
evs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD

(I appreciate you trying to cover every option with this set but admittedly we can trim this down a bit. if you really don't agree with these changes we can talk about it)
[SET COMMENTS]

* Togekiss's bulk and great defensive typing allow it to be a great support Pokemon, as well as its variety of support options such as Yawn, Follow Me, and Helping Hand.

* Dazzling Gleam lets Togekiss break Focus Sashes and pick off weakened foes even through redirection you're underselling gleam here imo. remember that with super luck it has a 1/8 chance of critting either target per turn which is pretty big. Alternatively, Air Slash can hit Pokemon such as Amoonguss and Venusaur harder as well as be a nuisance to slower Pokemon such as Porygon2 and Dusclops with a nasty 60% flinch rate when paired with Serene Grace.

* Follow Me allows frail teammates such as Calyrex-S and Kartana to fire off attacks without fear of getting blown away by a strong attack. It also helps with status conditions aimed to cripple teammates, even completely shutting down Sleep Powder and Spore if it runs Safety Goggles. I would add a point about redirection absorbing all max moves since they're single target

* Yawn forces Dynamax Pokemon into awkward positions where either they fall asleep or have to switch out, either way being severely crippled. *

* Helping Hand increases the damage output of Togekiss's teammates.

lets keep these points in the OP.

add a line about the merits of each item and move the highlighted text down here

ability: Inner Focus
nature: Bold
evs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD

[SET COMMENTS]

* Suicune's bulk and support options allow it to be a great help to its team with moves like Tailwind and Helping Hand, as well as being a nuisance to the opposition with its damage-reducing moves such as Snarl and Scald. this is clunky so you can split this into two sentences imo

* Scald is Suicune's water move of choice. It is an extremely helpful and spammable move as even Pokemon that don't take much can be extremely crippled by the burn it can inflict, such as Glastrier and Kartana. too wordy, get to the point

* Tailwind synergizes with Suicune's ability, Inner Focus, very well. Due to Inner Focus preventing Suicune from getting flinched, it will almost always get Tailwind up for its teammates to wreak havoc. you don't actually explain what tailwind does here. i would much prefer this line to just explain why tailwind is good (i.e. what are some crucial pokemon to outspeed in this meta?) and then another line at the end explaining the ability

* Snarl allows Suicune to neuter the damage of special attackers such as Spectrier, Charizard, and Tapu Fini.

* Ice Beam can hit Pokemon such as Landorus-T and Garchomp for massive damage, as well as grass types such as Rillaboom and Whimsicott that Suicune would otherwise struggle with. apologies bc this is prob something I told you w/o thinking but put HH on this line for standardization.

Clefairy

move 3: Dazzling Gleam / Moonblast / After You
move 4: Protect
item: Eviolite
ability: Friend Guard

evs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD

[SET COMMENTS]

* Clefairy can provide amazing support to its teammates, whether it's from Follow Me, Friend Guard, or any of its other plethora of support options such as After You preventing faster teammates from getting slowed down by Trick Room and Helping Hand improving the damage output of teammates. see comments below, up to you on how you wanna go about revising this line

* Follow Me is an excellent move to support frailer teammates such as Spectrier and Urshifu, letting them attack free of charge. Follow Me can also absorb Dynamaxed attacks as all of them are single-targeting moves. Another great benefit of Follow Me is redirecting status conditions such as burns from Will-o-Wisps and sleep attempts from Yawn and Sleep Powder to let teammates keep up offensive momentum. Clefairy doesn't have lum/goggles so it likes being slept way less and at that point I think a stray wow mention is prob not enough.

* Sing, while inconsistent, can be extremely deadly. Pokemon such as Metagross may Dynamax and ignore Clefairy, thinking it may be scared out by its deadly Max Steelpike, only to get put to sleep by Sing and effectively waste its Dynamax. change highlighted text to focus on targeting its partner, which has more offensive pressure usually. put helping hand here.

* Dazzling Gleam provides Clefairy with a spread move to pick off weakened opponents as well as break Focus Sashes. Moonblast is a stronger alternative to Dazzling Gleam that can also drop the opponent's Special Attack, but it doesn't have the benefit of being a spread move. put after you here and mention a fast pokemon like pult/spectrier that appreciates circumventing TR

[SET COMMENTS]

* Togekiss's bulk and great defensive typing allow it to be a great support Pokemon (language), as well as its variety of support options such as Yawn, which can force Dynamax Pokemon into awkward situations, Follow Me, and Helping Hand which increases Togekiss's teammate's damage output.

* Dazzling Gleam lets Togekiss break Focus Sashes and pick off weakened foes even through redirection. Dazzling Gleam also has a 1/8 chance to crit the opposing Pokemon due to Super Luck, which can deal big damage. Alternatively, Air Slash can hit Pokemon such as Amoonguss and Venusaur harder as well as be a nuisance to slower Pokemon such as Porygon2 and Dusclops with a nasty 60% flinch rate when paired with Serene Grace.

* Follow Me allows frail teammates such as Urshifu and Kartana to fire off attacks without fear of getting blown away by a strong attack, even absorbing all max moves as they are all single targeting. It also helps with status conditions aimed to cripple teammates, such as burns from Will-o-Wisp and sleep attempts from Spore and Sleep Powder. mention setup pokemon like NP rotom and spectrier

* Yawn / HH line

* Wacan Berry allows Togekiss to take hits from Regieleki and Thundurus-I better, while Babiri Berry allows it to take attacks from Metagross and Kartana better. Alternatively, Saftey Goggles allows Togekiss to completely shut down Spore and Sleep Powder from the likes of Amoonguss and Venusaur. good content just fix the order accordingly
