Hey everyone,
This is a team I have been using on Ladder lately and which has been quite decent. It has one of my favourite mons of all time in Scarf Gallade, Speed Booster Moth, and Black Sludge Trick Glowbro. I would like advice on teambuilding as tbh I'm not very good at it. I also am quite bad at EV spreads so some help there would be REALLY Appreciated
Gallade @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Sharpness
Shiny: Yes
Tera Type: Dark
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Leaf Blade
- Sacred Sword
- Psycho Cut
- Night Slash
With Sharpness and max Atk it has ridiculous damage potential the only bad thing is that it is not very fast. So a Scarf has been added to patch up that weakness. It has to run max speed AND Jolly to outspeed max Speed Dragapult. It can be a great anti lead since it can 2HKO Tusk unless it runs Max Defense and HP (Still has a 4.7% to 2HKO even with lefties on the Tusk. Calc: 252 Atk Sharpness Gallade Psycho Cut vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Great Tusk: 200-236 (46 - 54.3%) -- 4.7% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery). It also has decent Sp Def so it is not impossible to bring in and Glowking does the job to bring it in too.
Baxcalibur @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Thermal Exchange
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Icicle Crash
- Glaive Rush
- Earthquake
Baxcalibur as always is a scary mon. With DD it can set up and sweep. It can also come in freely thanks to Glowking and gets a Def Boost too. I'm not sure about the nature since even at +2 speed it gets Speed tied by Speed Booster Valiant. Though Adamant gives it insane attack so, I think I will keep it for now. I don't think it is important to show calc since ITS A BAXCALIBUR we all know what it can do.
Iron Moth @ Booster Energy
Ability: Quark Drive
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 124 HP / 132 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Fiery Dance
- Sludge Wave
- Dazzling Gleam
- Morning Sun
Speed Booster Iron Moth has been good to get some opponents by surprise. It does not do this kind of set as good as Tusk since it lacks a good set-up move but it can set-up with fiery dance whilst attacking so I think its ok. Morning sun for healing is here but honestly Sunny Day + Solar Beam was what I ran at first but I realised that maybe a bit too crazy. Moth is quite strong and with the HP investment and decent typing it has not had a terrible time coming in to the game. Fire + Poison STABS is quite decent in this meta. Fiery dance is used as the Sp Atk Boosts are valuable since I'm not running Max Sp. Atk in order to get the speed boost (functionally a free scarf for the first switch-in only)
Some Calcs:
132 SpA Iron Moth Fiery Dance vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Gholdengo: 276-326 (73 - 86.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
+1 132 SpA Quark Drive Iron Moth Sludge Wave vs. +3 0 HP / 4 SpD Enamorus: 284-336 (98.2 - 116.2%) -- 87.5% chance to OHKO (Yes 87.5% chance to OHKO through 3 CMs with just a +1 Sp. Atk Boost)
132 SpA Tera Fairy Iron Moth Dazzling Gleam vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Dragapult: 320-380 (100.9 - 119.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO (A use of Speed Booster energy)
It is a check to some of the faster threats and can only sweep against slower and less offensively threatening teams where it can afford to get off enough dances to get enough boosts.
Kingambit @ Leftovers
Ability: Supreme Overlord
Tera Type: Flying
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Kowtow Cleave
- Sucker Punch
- Low kick
Its a KINGAMBIT, need I say more. It is a good source priority in the team and is the anti Gambit with low kick. I have lefties since I have this Bad Habit of bringing Gambit out too early to check a low HP Opponent. But more than that it is just a Kingambit and it does Kingambit things. Priority is always useful, maybe a more well rounded EV spread would be better but I'm not good at that so max HP and Atk it is.
Colonel Tusk (Great Tusk) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Protosynthesis
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Impish Nature
- Knock Off
- Body Press
- Rapid Spin
- Earthquake
Colonel Tusk is in charge of hazard removal in this team and they ren max HP and Sp. Def and AV to make sure they can face enemies of all kinds in the battle and is not just left to taking one side of the spectrum. He has a quite simple moveset otherwise as he uses Both STABs, Spin, and Knock off for obvious reasons. Here is a show of their amazing bulk.
252+ SpA Choice Specs Gholdengo Make It Rain vs. 252 HP / 252 SpD Assault Vest Great Tusk: 253-298 (58.2 - 68.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 SpA Tera Fairy Enamorus Moonblast vs. 252 HP / 252 SpD Assault Vest Great Tusk: 328-388 (75.5 - 89.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
+1 252 Atk Baxcalibur Icicle Crash vs. 252 HP / 4+ Def Great Tusk: 324-384 (74.6 - 88.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
The Glowking (Slowking-Galar) @ Black Sludge
Ability: Regenerator
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe
- Chilly Reception
- Trick
- Future Sight
- Sludge Bomb
Glowking is the glue of this team. Without him they would struggle at the battlefield. Giving Free switches left and right, whilst giving Def boosts to the Baxcalibur and can cripple bulky opponents by tricking them Black Sludge. Future Sight can in fact make switching around tricky for the opponent. It has great bulk and thanks to its typing can switch-in to decent amount of moves. Also Hard walls Valiant after Losing Item.
Calcs: -
252 Atk Iron Valiant Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252 Def Slowking-Galar: 192-228 (48.7 - 57.8%) -- 96.9% chance to 2HKO
252 SpA Choice Specs Enamorus Earth Power vs. 252 HP / 4+ SpD Slowking-Galar: 254-300 (64.4 - 76.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Black Sludge recovery
252 SpA Gholdengo Shadow Ball vs. 252 HP / 4+ SpD Slowking-Galar: 222-264 (56.3 - 67%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Black Sludge recovery
Opinions on my team. I would love to the opinion of someone better than me.
