When equipped with a Choice Scarf, Hisuian Decidueye is a threatening physical attacker and cleaner thanks to its unique traits of a good STAB combination, an incredibly spammable STAB move in Triple Arrows, and a great ability in Scrappy. U-turn allows Hisuian Decidueye to pivot out of awkward matchups like Florges, Uxie, and Altaria and keep up momentum as it revenge kills Psychic-types like Bruxish and Espeon. Leaf Blade is a useful secondary STAB move that pressures Grass-weak physical walls like Rhydon, Mudsdale, and Milotic. Brave Bird is useful to target Paldean Tauros-F and opposing Hisuian Decidueye, while Close Combat 2HKOes Rotom-H and OHKOes Brute Bonnet. Tera Fighting boosts the power of Triple Arrows and Close Combat to great levels, allowing Hisuian Decidueye to 2HKO Rhydon and Arcanine and OHKO Frosmoth and Dudunsparce with Triple Arrows.



While strong, Hisuian Decidueye can struggle to deal with a few threats that resist its STAB moves such as Altaria, Galarian Articuno, and Delphox, so checks to these threats such as Rotom-H and Goodra are good partners to have. Even with a Choice Scarf, some threats such as Salazzle, Sneasel, and Floatzel still outspeed Hisuian Decidueye, so having switch-ins to these threats such as Coalossal and Bellibolt are useful to have. Hisuian Decidueye's ability to wear down common switch-ins to it such as Bellibolt and Mudsdale can help enable partners also checked by these walls, such as Bruxish, Grimmsnarl, and Ambipom. Hisuian Decidueye can often have difficulty to get onto the battlefield safely due to its many weaknesses, so slower pivots such as Bellibolt, Uxie, and Frosmoth can help bring it in safely while forming a strong VoltTurn core with Hisuian Decidueye. Hisuian Decidueye enjoys support from entry hazard control from the likes of Alolan Sandslash and Altaria, as Hisuian Decidueye is easily worn down from entry hazards as a pivot.

Hisuian Decidueye does not often use its fourth move, but (this is sorta true but doesn't need to be spelled out) Brave Bird is useful to target Paldean Tauros-F and opposing Hisuian Decidueye, while Close Combat 2HKO's Rotom-H and OHKO's Brute Bonnett. Tera Fighting boost's boosts the power of Triple Arrows (and close combat) to great levels, allowing Hisuian Decidueye to 2HKO Rhydon and Arcanine and OHKO Frosmoth and Dudunsparce (with what move?).

Even with a Choice Scarf, some threats such as Whimsicott, Salazzle, and Floatzel still outspeed and easily revenge kill it, so having switchins to these threats such as Coalossal and Bellibolt are useful to have. Hisuian Decidueye's ability to wear down common switchin's (switchins) to it such as Bellibolt and Mudsdale can help enable partners also checked by these walls, such as Bruxish, Grimmsnarl, and Ambipom. Hisuian Decidueye can oftentimes have difficulty to get onto the battlefield safely due to its poor defensive typing, so slower pivots such as Bellibolt, Uxie, and Frosmoth can help bring it in safely while also forming a strong VoltTurn combo with Hisuian Decidueye.
