Scarf Manectric FTW! UU RMT!

Intro
Hello. I've been recently trying to make a good UU team but have been having some troubles. The one time I was bored and saw on the main chat that someone said that Scarf Manectric is a beast at a revenge killing so curious me wanted to try it and here is my team based around him. Well actually no, I wanted to test him with these Pokémon and I've beaten several people on the leaderboard with this team. So rate it!

hitmontop.png

Hitmontop (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Technician
EVs: 240 HP/252 Atk/16 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Close Combat
- Fake Out
- Mach Punch
- Stone Edge
---
Awesome lead. Fakes out then Mach Punch which both get technician boost. Stone Edge prevents being walled out by ghosts and Close Combat gets STAB and has a lot of BP. I don't really want to change this guy since he works out great for me.
If he doesn't die in the early game he can come back in and deal damage with Fake Out.

steelix.png

Steelix (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Rock Head
EVs: 252 HP/120 Atk/136 SDef
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Gyro Ball
- Toxic
---

Wow. All I can say about this beast. Awesome wall. After Top switches out I usually go to this guy to set up SR. Then I toxic my opponent and do damage or switch out. Why use defense EVs when they are already beastly? Also 120 attack helps me deal damage and the SDef EVs help me take non super effective moves. If I get into stall against other physical attackers this guy stops that by coming in and EQing them.

spiritomb.png

Spiritomb (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP/252 Def/6 SAtk
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Dark Pulse
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
---

This guy is completely a beast. My status absorber+ set up sweepers. A few calm minds and nothing can stop this guy besides a bit of hax. Dark Pulse gets STAB and can flinch things slower than him. The Def EVs allow this guy to take Defensive hits and then rest of the damage.

manectric.png

Manectric (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Static
EVs: 40 Atk/252 Spd/218 SAtk
Naive nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Grass]
- Overheat
- Crunch
---
The Pokémon this team started with. Awesome Sweeper and yet this thing is NU X_X. T Bolt gets usual STAB, HP Grass gets the common ground pokemon who come on this guy. Flamethrower gets the steels, grass, and bugs, and Crunch gets the ghosts and psychics. This guy is the Jolteon of UU and NU but with some better moves.

EDIT! Overheat over Flamethrower. Since this is a scarf it won't stay in much to matter for the SAtt drops.
blaziken.png

Blaziken (M) @ Expert Belt
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 140 Atk/116 Spd/252 SAtk
Mild nature (+SAtk, -Def)
- Agility
- Superpower
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Flamethrower
---
Agility sweeper. Ran HP Ice because of fliers? I don't know why but I was crazy. I REALLY want to change this guy. He has NEVER helped my team. Every time I use agility, Slowbro, or Milotic come and ruin it. This thing hasn't helped me so yeah, a replacement would be nice.
I'm considering changing him for another special or mixed sweeper.

milotic.png

Milotic (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Marvel Scale
EVs: 252 HP/240 Def/16 SDef
Calm nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Surf
- Sleep Talk
- Rest
- Ice Beam
---
Oh Hi! It's Milotic! Another Status absorber and good tank. I ran calm to still be able to take SDef hits. 240 Def EVs help me take physical hits and max hp also helps with that. I see that ground attacks can be a problem and this is the only really good pokemon to take those hits so I switch to her but I can't rely on her for all those ground attacks or a good prediction to defeat me. Thus, Blaziken must be replaced.

Now, I won't post a threat list since I'm still learning about the UU enviornment. So please help!

well I am not an expert in the UU environment so I will not do a full rate but I will suggest changing Flamethrower to Overheat as it is a choice scarfer you will be switching out alot with it so Overheat will be more beneficial for the extra power and the Special Attack drops dont matter because of as previously said u will be switching out alot so I hoped this helped.

If you don't like Blaziken, you can do one of two things:

1° Take him out and add another sweeper

2° You can give him Thunderpunch or any other move that can hit Slowbro and Milotic hard.

HTH

I'm not too sure about this team tbh. Is stall a problem? It sure does seem like it would. Also, you SHOULD defeinately lengthen your descrpitions before this thread gets locked. You have a kind of large weakness to ground attacks, but I'm not sure what to change for that. Until you lengthen your descrpitions so we can really help you, I will not give a rate.

Chansey along with Spirtomb/Sableye can be a problem. Also I added a few more things and I also noticed my ground problem. Hopefully someone will do a full rate now.

EDIT jjman this is a UU team so there is obviously no OU pokemon.

Hmmm... Where to start...

Ok first of all, the reason Blaziken isn't functioning very well is cause his type coverage is being handled by your other sweepers. I suggest replacing him with Roserade.

Roserade @ Choice Scarf/Life Orb
1) Leaf Storm/Energy Ball
2) Sludge Bomb
3) Hidden Power Fire/Hidden Power Ice
4) Sleep Powder
ability: Natural Cure
nature: Timid
evs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe

Put her in the lead over Hitmontop for a fast Sleep Powder. The choice between items comes down to how you want her function on your team. Scarf for hit n' run, or Orb for general attacking and freedom to choose your moves. If you go with Life Orb, use Energy Ball over Leaf Storm. The SpA drop is not very welcome if you plan on staying in. Which Hidden Power to run depends on what you want to hit harder. Fire for Registeel, or Ice for Altaria as she likes to come in to take your Sleep Powder. But, both will let you hit other Grass types hard.

Now as for Hitmontop, just let him be your late game sweeper. TechniTop is pretty good at that. If you reveal him too early, your opponent can play around him and kill him with a surprise attack from something. Just use him to mop up what Manectric leaves behind. On Steelix, switch out Gyro Ball for Stone Edge and Toxic for Roar. Rock and Ground get better coverage than Steel and Ground. If you want to keep Gyro Ball make sure you are running a -speed nature and 0 Spe IV's to max out its damage. Roar will be better than toxic, as this team needs some phazing for stat uppers. For Milotic, check the Project: UU Revamp threads for a better set. I don't think the one you have now is doing much for your team. Spiritomb seems fine. For Manectric, I would go with Choice Specs than Choice Scarf, Signal Beam over Crunch. He's already pretty fast as is.

Well thats all I got for now. Have fun playing UU. :nerd:

If you need a mixed sweeper, then for your team, I suggest Altaria.

Altaria @ Life Orb
Mild
Natural Cure
EV:112 Att, 252 Sp.Att, 144 Spe
Outrage
Draco Meteor
Fire Blast/ Flamethrower
EQ/ Roost

This Altaria might prove really helpful for you. I like this idea for you because it gives you an immunity from your mentioned ground weakness. It's also unexpected in someway, as the most common Altarias to me are the DD set and Defencive set. HP Grass/ Electric is also a suggestion to hit water types.

I'm pretty sure that was me saying Scarfed Manectric was a beast. Not the set I would go with, but if it works for you...
Anyways, the problems with this team have already been addressed. So I would take some of their advice if I were you, on paper it looks like great advice.

I'll start with a minor nitpick; why do you have only 216 SpA EVs on Manectric? is 40 HP important for something?

Anyway, it looks to me like you have a huge problem with bulky waters, especially Pokemon that hit semi-hard, like Milotic and Slowbro, and even more so Azumarill. You also seem to be a bit Roserade weak as well.

Since you already have a great counter for Azumarill in Milotic, I'd suggest using Hidden Power Electric in the last slot to actually KO Azumarill before it KOes you with a crit. You don't lose much there with so very few Grass-types, minus Roserade of course, who you won't be threatening with a weak Ice Beam.

Another thing I'd suggest is to use a Roserade of your own over Blaziken, specifically a Life Orb variant. I'd suggest the set:

Roserade @ Life Orb
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Nature: Modest
-Leaf Storm
-Sludge Bomb
-Synthesis
-Sleep Powder

This will help you a ton with bulky Waters like Milotic and Slowbro, while also giving you a solid switch-in to Leaf Storms which you cannot switch into at the moment. Life Orb Roserade is simply awesome, it will clear a path for Manectric with its ability to actually BEAT Chansey after two switch-ins.

I hope this helps.
