Scream Tail makes use of Trick + Choice Scarf and Encore to shut down defensive Pokemon like Corviknight, Garganacl, and Ting-Lu as well as bulky setup sweepers such as Calm Mind Scream Tail and Curse Dondozo. Scream Tail can also revenge kil offensive threats like Chien-Pao, Greninja, and boosted Baxcalibur and Great Tusk; entry hazards from Garchomp, Ting-Lu, and Clodsire can put them into its KO range. After giving its Choice Scarf away, Scream Tail becomes an effective Wish passer courtesy of its high HP and Regenerator recovery. Defensive Pokemon without reliable recovery such as Ting-Lu, Great Tusk, and Dondozo appreciate being passed Wishes; in return, they help cover offensive threats such as Gengar, Kingambit, and Ceruledge, respectively. They also enjoy Scream Tail's ability to use Encore and Trick to handle bulky setup sweepers that can overwhelm them in the long run, such as Bulk Up Great Tusk and Corviknight. Moreover, Great Tusk also provides Rapid Spin to prevent Scream Tail from being overwhelmed by entry hazards, which would mitigate Regenerator and force it to use its own Wishes regularly. Offensive Pokemon like Gholdengo, Baxcalibur, and Gengar can compensate for Scream Tail's overall passivity.
