Hey this is my first post, I love to hear criticism and want to constantly improve, please give me recommendations to modify this team at any time.
After playing competitively (but not well) on showdown for a couple months I realized my favorite OU Mon to use was Scarf Vic. It's match of typing and even more so it's amazing movepool makes this mon really fun to use! This is a sort of glue for the team, as it can serve as a good pivot that can take out a lot of set up mons (cm tapu lele, volcorona, etc) with the appropriate move
This is the set I use most commonly is this
Victini @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Victory Star
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- V-create
- U-turn
- Glaciate
- Bolt Strike
U-turn is for pivoting, V-create is a hugely powerful stab-move, Bolt Strike is an amazing coverage move to have, and Glaciate is there to punish Landorus-T switch-ins.
The hazard mon of my choice is Ferrothorn. I use a pretty standard set. I prefer rocks and whip but they can be replaced with spikes or gyro ball, respectively. You can also replace protect with spikes for double hazards but I prefer protect to scout moves and cause HJK misses on Hawlucha and Mega Lopunny.
Ferrothorn @ Leftovers
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 96 Def / 160 SpD
Careful Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Protect
- Leech Seed
- Power Whip
The next mon is also super common and while it has dipped in usage I still find super strong and a solid addition to the team - specs BB Gren.
Greninja-Ash (M) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Battle Bond
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- U-turn
- Water Shuriken
- Surf
- Dark Pulse
U-turn provides decent momentum and utility. Water Shuriken adds much needed priority to the team. Surf and Dark Pulse are high power spamable attacks for Gren to use if need be. Surf can be replaced with Hydro Pump if you favor power over accuracy. Gren serves as a nice offensive pivot that hits really really hard and adds some nice coverage to the team.
This teams z-move user is Kyurem-B.
Kyurem-Black @ Icium Z
Ability: Teravolt
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Outrage
- Freeze Shock
- Earth Power
- Ice Beam
This set is standard except I choose to run Outrage over Fusion Bolt because I prefer to utilize the raw power of Outrage combined with this mons stab to heavily chunk something late game. Earth Power is there to KO Heatran because this team is a little weak to SpDef Heatran.
This team's mega is Mawile. If you don't know what it does, that's mostly on you. I prefer intimidate but you can replace it with Hyper Cutter. Hyper Cutter while making it better if Landorus-T switches in also provides less defensive utility and swords dance can mitigate the attack drop from it. Thunder Punch is a nice move to punish things like Pelipper since rain has been rising in popularity. Play Rough is stab and Sucker Punch is probably the move you'll use most as Mawile's speed isn't great.
Mawile-Mega @ Mawilite
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 188 HP / 252 Atk / 68 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Thunder Punch
- Sucker Punch
- Play Rough
Now the final member of the team is Zapdos. Hawlucha is very popular in the meta right now and defensive Zapdos is a great answer to it. Zapdos is also the teams defog user, as this team hates rocks. I prefer this rocky helmet variant. Heat Wave for Ferro, Roost for recovery, Discharge+Static for the chance to inflict paralysis.
Zapdos @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Static
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Discharge
- Heat Wave
- Defog
- Roost
From what I've seen so far, this team's effectiveness is pretty much based entirely upon the skill of someone using it. A newbie player can use this team and grow a huge amount! An experienced player can crush other players with this team very easily do to the meta. A simpler term would be that the skill floor is low but the skill ceiling is high.
