I haven't done any serious laddering since the Aegislash suspect and have been wanting to get back into laddering for a while now, I was pretty busy over the summer, and have been busy with school lately. But I have had the chance to play with this team my boy z0mog helped me make recently. Rain is one of my favorite type of teams to play with, and I have been having a lot of fun and success with it. My friend z0m made a rain team first with mega Herra, but i thought it was kind of boring and wanted to create my own, with a Kingdra/Scizor core.

Ebin (Politoed) (M) @ Damp Rock
Ability: Drizzle
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe
- Scald
- Ice Beam
- Encore
- Perish Song

It's not a rain team without politoed, that's obvious. I made him physically defensive, because it allows him to take down a CB Talonflame easily if my kabutops gets killed. 252+ Atk Choice Band Talonflame Brave Bird vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Politoed: 204-240 (53.2 - 62.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO.
With his physical bulk, he can also encore/ perish song setup sweepers so they become a much smaller threat. Ice beam is there just because its nice coverage.

Bluckles (Scizor) (M) @ Scizorite
Ability: Technician
EVs: 200 HP / 44 Atk / 116 Def / 100 SpD / 48 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Bullet Punch
- Swords Dance
- Roost
- Knock Off

The team was created with this mega in mind, and he is a really solid bulky sweeper, since his defenses and typing are great. I couldn't really think of anything that threatens scizor in rain, that doesn't get destroyed by other pokes on my team. His ev spread is just the standard bulky set up one, with speed to outspeed tran. I was considering putting superpower over knock off to deal with Heatran more reliably, but I found knock off to be more helpful in more situations.

A CRITICAL HIT (Kingdra) (F) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Swift Swim
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Surf
- Hydro Pump
- Draco Meteor
- Hidden Power [Electric]

The nickname is just to ruse kids on the low to mid ladder. He just has a standard rain sweeper set. The only thing that's different about this kingdra is that he has HP electric which is just there to hit Azumarill on the switch and does a surprisingly good amount 252+ SpA Choice Specs Kingdra Hidden Power Electric vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Azumarill: 210-248 (51.9 - 61.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO. He can only do well against AV Azumarill if it already has chip damage, rocks are up, and if Azu hard switches in. But other than that, he is a great special sweeper.

Slushy (Mamoswine) (F) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Ice Shard
- Stealth Rock
- Icicle Crash

This was originally going to be a lead sash Garchomp, but Mamoswine's a great lead too, and can help me with my Thundurus weakness. I'm running Icicle crash over icicle spear, because I think the reliability and flinch hax is better, even though icicle spear would help me beat Breloom. He's also just great for forcing switches against dragons that get too cheeky and set up.

gothitelle.gif

Ludenberg (Gothitelle) (F) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Shadow Tag
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpA / 8 SpD
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Psychic
- Thunderbolt
- Shadow Ball
- Trick

Deciding to put Gothitelle on the team was pretty hard, because I was also really considering tornadus-t. The main reason I wanted one of them on my team was so I could take care of mega Venusaur, since he is definitely the biggest threat to my team. I also wanted something for Mega medicham, because that thing is ALWAYS scary as hell. The only 2 advantages that goth had over tornadus was that she could trap them and kill them, and Tornadus would have just reinforced my big electric weakness. But Tornadus could also U-turn on those megas and build my momentum. I am still open to having Tornadus on the team, so please give me your thoughts on it.

Kabuchops (Kabutops) (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Waterfall
- Stone Edge
- Aqua Jet
- Low Kick

This guy and kingdra are amazing swift swim abusers. I don't really need to say anything besides that he's just a great physical sweeper. The only other thing I can say is that I'm considering putting swords dance over aqua jet.

Welp that's it really, here's the team and have fun http://pastebin.com/wjs31eLk

Hey this is a pretty standard team so I don't have many suggestions. The first would be to use Ferrothorn over Mamoswine. Although Mamoswine is a great offensive threat and a decent hazard setter, Ferrothorn offers the team much more. Ferrothorn provides important resistances to Electric, Dragon, Fairy, and Grass type attacks that this team needs. It checks a bunch of Pokemon that give Rain teams trouble like Rotom-W, Latias, Latios, Tyranitar, and a few others that I can't think of at the moment. Ferrothorn would be a much better hazard setter for the team because of the huge amount of support it offers. With Ferrothorn checking Azumarill Kingdra doesn't need to carry Hidden Power Electric. I suggest using Dragon Pulse over HP Electric to give Kingdra the option of using its second STAB without crippling itself. I also recommend using Scald over Surf, its high burn chance gives you a way to punish bulky water resistant mon's who hope to switch in and eat a Surf or Hydro Pump like Azumarill, Ferrothorn, and Latias. I'm not sure why Heatran would be a problem for Mega Scizor when it's on a dedicated Rain team. I suggest using a bulky Specially Defensive spread for Scizor over your current EV spread, a 248 HP / 84 Atk / 216 SpD spread gives Mega Scizor the necessary bulk to better check Mega Gardevoir and to take some special attacks. Everything else is okay. I hope you enjoy the changes.

Optional: You could also use bulky Mega Garchomp instead of Scizor to check opposing weathers. If played well Mega Garchomp can counter Sand Offense and check Mega Charizard Y. It can also break down defensive nuisances to rain like Mega Venusaur and Ferrothorn. It's definitely worth considering over Mega Scizor.
