[overview]
**Draft Order**: Round 7 onwards
**Price Range**: 6-7 points
**Overview**: Scrafty is a versatile Pokemon with three solid abilities and a wide movepool that can help it fill many roles, whether that role is sweeping with Dragon Dance and Moxie, absorbing hits with its high defenses and Intimidate and providing utility with the likes of Knock Off and Encore, or absorbing status with Shed Skin. However, Scrafty's relatively low Speed, HP, and Attack mean it can have difficulty in all of these roles and needs a lot of support to find success.

Common Roles
========
**Tank**: With its high defenses, Scrafty can switch into many attacks and threaten foes out with moves like Close Combat. It also has access to Knock Off to help deal with items, Super Fang for flat damage allowing it to maximize its defensive capabilities, and useful utility moves like Taunt and Encore.
**Setup Sweeper**: With Dragon Dance and its naturally high defenses, Scrafty can become a threatening sweeper if not answered properly. Alternatively, Bulk Up and Swords Dance can be used on sets aiming to outlive foes instead of outspeed them.
Common Moves
========
**Primary STAB Moves**: Close Combat, Drain Punch, Knock Off, Crunch, Low Kick
**Setup Moves**: Dragon Dance, Swords Dance, Bulk Up
**Utility Moves**: Rest, Taunt, Encore, Substitute, Brick Break, Dragon Tail, Super Fang, Roar
**Coverage**: Dragon Claw, Fire Punch, Ice Punch, Iron Head, Head Smash, Poison Jab, Stone Edge, Thunder Punch, Zen Headbutt
Niche Moves
========
**Upper Hand**: While priority is usually not necessary to move first against Scrafty, Upper Hand can catch Choice-locked foes or foes without better options off guard.
Common Items
========
**Leftovers**: Scrafty values longevity in most games, and Leftovers helps Scrafty stay on the field longer.
**Heavy-Duty Boots**: Ignoring entry hazard damage allows Scrafty to switch in more, which can help in games where it is forced out easily.
**Rocky Helmet**: Rocky Helmet allows Scrafty to punish foes using physical attacks, and Scrafty makes a good switch-in to Knock Off due to its good natural bulk.
**Assault Vest**: With its wide array of coverage moves, Scrafty can make good use of Assault Vest to be even tankier specially without losing much value.
Niche Items
========
**Resistance Berries**: Scrafty usually needs to take a hit or two while setting up, and resistance Berries such as Roseli and Chople Berry can allow it to gain the boosts it needs to accomplish a sweep.
**Other Damage-boosting Items**: While Scrafty usually values the longevity provided by other items, with its wide array of coverage moves, it can make good use of Expert Belt, and Life Orb can boost its damage output when longevity is less necessary.
Tera
========
Scrafty can make for a versatile secondary Tera Captain; shedding its weakness-riddled Dark and Fighting types for a more defensively sound Tera type like Tera Water or Fairy can do wonders for it. Alternatively, offensive sets can benefit from using Tera Steel or Poison to flip matchups on foes and boost the power of their coverage moves. However, Scrafty's mediocre stats mean Terastallization cannot solve all of its shortcomings.
Draft Strategy
========
Scrafty can fulfill a variety of roles, being able to set up and sweep or disrupt with moves like Knock Off and Encore. However, Scrafty should be an auxiliary piece on a solid draft and not a necessary part of a plan. That being said, it appreciates teammates that can bring it in safely and help chip down foes.
**Pivots**: Scrafty benefits greatly from teammates like Tornadus-T and Rotom-W that can scout foes' moves and bring it in safely.
**Entry Hazard Setters**: Whether setting up or filling a more defensive role, (AC) Scrafty forces switches and removes Heavy-Duty Boots from foes, so keeping entry hazards up with teammates like Gliscor and Glimmora can let it make good progress throughout a game.
**Fairy-resistant Pokemon**: Scrafty's 4x weakness to Fairy and inability to hit Fairy-types very hard means it can allow opposing Fairy-type Pokemon in easily. Pokemon like Iron Treads and Galarian Slowking make good partners for switching into the Fairy-type attacks Scrafty baits out.
**Sweepers**: With its ability to use Knock Off many times throughout a game, Scrafty can remove Heavy-Duty Boots and other pesky items to make it easier for sweepers like Greninja and Iron Valiant to do their job.
Checks and Counters
========
**Fairy-types**: Fairy-types resist Scrafty's STAB moves and hit it for 4x damage, so Pokemon like Enamorus and even Pokemon using Tera Fairy like Raging Bolt make it very hard for Scrafty to stick around for long.
**Physically Defensive Foes**: While Scrafty has many setup options and a decent defensive profile, its low base Attack means Pokemon like Great Tusk and Corviknight can switch into it with relative ease and force it out.
**Disruption**: With its low Speed, t can be very easy for foes to use Encore to force Scrafty into useless moves or use Taunt before Scrafty can use its status moves.
**Status**: While Scrafty gets access to Shed Skin, which can help in some matchups, on sets not using Shed Skin, status conditions like burn and paralysis can be quite annoying to deal with.
