AG Screens Lead (Grimmsnarl) [QC 0/2]

[SET]
Dual Screens (Grimmsnarl) @ Light Clay
Ability: Prankster
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 248 HP / 136 Def / 124 SpD
Impish Nature
- Parting Shot / Play Rough
- Light Screen
- Reflect
- Taunt

[SET COMMENTS]
Light Screen and Reflect, in combination with Prankster, make Grimmsnarl an excellent and reliable hyper offense lead. Taunt prevents Pokemon like Zacian-C, Koraidon, Arceus, and various other sweepers from using Grimmsnarl as setup fodder, while Parting Shot gives Grimmsnarl an excellent method of pivoting while also reducing damage taken from the Pokemon switching in. Alternatively, Grimmsnarl could opt to use Play Rough with an Adamant Nature to hit Ting-Lu, which could otherwise freely set up Spikes in the face of Grimmsnarl, being unaffected by Taunt.

Sweepers like Arceus-Ground, Tera Fairy Calyrex-S, and Substitute Koraidon all especially appreciate Grimmsnarl's screens support, as they all usually require multiple turns of setup to become a significant threat. Other bulkier sweepers like Arceus and Necrozma-DM also benefit from Grimmsnarl's screens, as it makes them much more difficult to be revenge killed. Since Grimmsnarl is unable to set up hazards on its own, it pairs very well with teammates like Glimmora and Ribombee, whose hazards combined with Grimmsnarl's screen support make it far easier for its team to sweep. Grimmsnarl is also quite vulnerable to Ting-Lu, who can ignore Grimmsnarl's Prankster Taunt and freely set up Spikes. Thus, Grimmsnarl appreciates having teammates like Koraidon, who can threaten to cause great damage to Ting-Lu to force it to switch out.

Other Options
=============
Grimmsnarl could opt to use Spirit Break over Play Rough, as it has a greater accuracy and reduces the Special Attack of Pokemon it hits. Yet, due to its lower base power and its secondary effect being irrelevant most of the time, Play Rough is the better option. Grimmsnarl could also opt to use Sucker Punch, which can OHKO Calyrex-S before it attacks. Yet, it is not worth using most of the time, as Calyrex-S frequently runs Tera Fairy, and running Sucker Punch disallows it from using a much more valuable move.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Ting-Lu**: Ting-Lu is immune to Grimmsnarl's Prankster Taunt, and it can freely set up spikes on non-Play Rough Grimmsnarl without any repercussions.

**Ribombee**: Ribombee can threaten to use Sticky Web, forcing Grimmsnarl to Taunt, while it attacks with a powerful super-effective Moonblast.

Light Screen and Reflect, in combination with Prankster, make Grimmsnarl an excellent and reliable hyper offense lead. Taunt prevents Pokemon like Calyrex-S, Zacian-C, (blocking caly from NPing feels more important, idt u need to mention zac-c at all because it's a 50/50 between them SD'ing or attacking) Koraidon, Arceus, and various other sweepers from using Grimmsnarl as setup fodder (might wanna mention stopping etern from tspiking/spiking, also gliscor perhaps? deos too), while Parting Shot gives Grimmsnarl an excellent method of pivoting while also reducing damage taken from the Pokemon switching in. (you mean "for" the mon switching in? just a heads-up, GP can probably take care of it) Alternatively, Grimmsnarl could opt to use Play Rough with an Adamant Nature and maximum Attack investment to hit Ting-Lu (might wanna add having a good chance to 2hko lu), which could otherwise freely set up Spikes in the face of Grimmsnarl, being unaffected by Taunt. (mention tera steel spinblocking glim. including what the evs do would be great too, but i'm not sure about the specific calcs either...can include a line that says it's balancing the bulk to eat both strong physical and special attacks)

Sweepers like Dragon Dance Arceus-Ground, Tera Fairy Calyrex-S, Double Dance Miraidon and Swords Dance Substitute Koraidon all especially appreciate Grimmsnarl's screens support, as they all usually require multiple turns of setup to become a significant threat. (i'm not a fan of this line, it only really applies to tera fairy calys while the others can be threatening with a few boosts) Other bulkier sweepers like Arceus and Necrozma-DM also benefit from Grimmsnarl's screens, as it makes them much more difficult to be revenge killed. Since Grimmsnarl is unable to set up hazards on its own, it pairs very well with teammates like Glimmora and Ribombee, whose hazards combined with Grimmsnarl's screen support make it far easier for its team to sweep. (probably cut the ribom mention, as ribom isnt a great partner for grimm when ur asking to get omega owned by tinglu) Grimmsnarl is also quite vulnerable to Ting-Lu, who can ignore Grimmsnarl's Prankster Taunt and freely set up Spikes. Thus, Grimmsnarl appreciates having teammates like Koraidon, who can threaten to cause great damage to Ting-Lu to force it to switch out. (glim can mortal spin the hazards, helps vs ribom)

Yet, it is not worth using most of the time, as Calyrex-S frequently runs Tera Fairy, and (tera fairy is not that frequently used, and even tera normal can tank it so don't need to particularly mention. or maybe you could say "Calyrex-S sometimes runs..." and keep the line) running Sucker Punch disallows it from using a much more valuable move.
