Hi this is my first RMT, hoping to get suggestions on how i can improve it :)
The team revolves around trying to set up dual screens and then switching into a sweeper to setup/sweep and then cleaning up with revenge killers. I try to reduce switches as much as possible by having pokemon of wide offensive coverage to keep up the pressure on opponents and reduce damage taken due to entry hazards.
Cresselia (F) @ Light Clay Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 148 Def / 40 SDef / 68 Spd
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Light Screen
- Reflect
- Moonlight
- Psychic
I usually lead with this, setting up screens to pass to my sweepers and acting as a defensive pivot when they run into trouble. Encountered problems with taunt users and most of the time will be forced to switch out and try to come back in to screen in the later part of the game if an opportunity arises. This guy has done pretty well and my mixed wall this guy can really take some hits. Tried with a Bronzong with Hypnosis and dual screen which works kind of well but sometimes gets into trouble dealing with fire type moves from many lead pokemon. Thinking of swapping it with Espeon/Azelf.
Scrafty (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Moxie
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Drain Punch
- Crunch
- Dragon Dance
- Ice Punch
Will usually switch into Scrafty when a dark type attack threathens Cress (mainly scizor and tyranitar switch ins) getting a free dragon dance in anticipation of a switchout. Can be frail to hits at times, but has served me pretty well and is an absolute monster if the opponent is not prepared and allows me to setup and sweep. Has good synergy with Cress, as they can cover up each other's weaknesses pretty well.
Thundurus (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Prankster
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Nasty Plot
- Focus Blast
I love Thunderus for its ability to outspeed most mons and its great move coverage gaining many super effective hits in. If given a chance to get a nasty plot in it is really good. The only problem is that it really can't take a hit and runs into big trouble if it is unable to OHKO esp after SR damage. Useful under many circumstances and is the star of my team.
Garchomp (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Sand Veil
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Outrage
- Aqua Tail
- Fire Fang
- Earthquake
This guy has saved me a couple of times from the brink of defeat, mostly used as a "cleanup the mess" mon during late game after the opponent has been weakened. Sometimes i use it during early game to help revenge kill.
Chandelure (M) @ Choice Specs
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Hidden Power [Fighting]
- Shadow Ball
- Energy Ball
- Flamethrower
Might need some help on this. Chose Chandelure for its great STABed attacks and SAttk which can force steels to switch out, many times OHKOing a switch in if predicted correctly. However it has trouble dealing with faster mons, considering switching to Infernape/Blaziken for mixed wallbreaking abilities.
Starmie @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Illuminate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Beam
- Surf
- Psychic
Have tried several mons on this slot, but could not really find one which compliments the rest of the team, Starmie is chosen for its ability to handle DDers(mainly gyarados, dragons and to scare off gliscors which can really be a pain) Considering to put Latios here, or another defensive pivot to support the rest of the team.
Threats and weaknesses
Taunt ruins screens setup, and entry hazards laid during setting up can be a real pain.
No SR,pHazing in team
Trouble dealing with Hail based teams, Latios, Excadrill.
Will really appreciate any suggestions, as this is pretty much work in progress. Thanks in advance! =)
