0- Atk Mega Venusaur Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Heatran: 248-292 (64.2 - 75.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recoveryWhilst I was on the OU ladder, I notcied a lot of teams that had Deoxys-D and Bisharp, which is a great core for Hyper Offense to use. I thought nothing of it but then more and more players were using it and it got to the point where it started to annoy me, so I thought "I've had enough!!". So I looked at the team structure and decided to build a team that shut down that disgusting core, and with enough testing on an alt, I came up with this with surprising results.

(The record speaks for itself imo)

It uses different pokemon and some with weird spreads, so let's get into it...

Hunter_the_Weavile_by_Kiuna_chan.png

Weavile @ Choice Band
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Knock Off
- Ice Shard
- Ice Punch
- Low Kick

The first thing I thought of was how I could get rid of Deoxys-D in one hit and outspeed it, which really wasn't easy. I had to run a lot of calcs and Adamant Choice Band Weavile fit the bill perfectly
252+ Atk Choice Band Weavile Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Deoxys-D: 326-386 (107.2 - 126.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO
As well as OHKOing it, it also gave me some powerful priority in the form of Ice Shard, which was needed as well. Ice Punch is used as another powerful STAB move which will hit anything that doesn't resist it hard. Low Kick is used for coverage and for hitting Tyrantitar and Heatran extremely hard.

Cobalion @ Leftovers
Ability: Justified
EVs: 44 Spd / 248 HP / 216 Def
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Sacred Sword
- Iron Head
- Thunder Wave

Defensive Cobalion is such a good pokemon in OU. It walls Bisharp, MegaTar and Mandibuzz while gaing +1 from all their Dark-type moves. The main reason to use it was to wall Bisharp, as most of us hate facing it, including me. The speed investment allows me to outspeed max speed Jolly Bisharp and OHKO it with Sacred Sword. Why Sacred Sword you may ask? I'm using it as a wall, so while Close Combat may be stronger, I want all the defense I can get. Stealth Rocks are there because Stealth Rock is one of the best moves in the competitive game. To finish the set, some nice parafusion to help out the team.

mega_venusaur_by_dannycreepy-d6n7dhq.png

Venusaur @ Venusaurite
Ability: Overgrow
EVs: 144 SAtk / 16 Spd / 248 HP / 100 Def
Timid Nature
- Synthesis
- Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb
- Earthquake

Next thing I thought about is that DeoSharp teams usually had a bulky water on there to help keep on the pressure of the hazards, so Mega Venusaur fit the bill to put a stop to that. The EVs are a bit different so here's the explanation for them:
  • 248 HP is used for sheer longevity; you wanna keep this thing around for as long as possible so 'max' HP was obvious.
  • 16 Spd EVs with a Timid Nature allows it to outspeed Jolly max speed Azumarill and 44 Spd Rotom-W, which are usually the pokes I see on there and being able to hit them hard with a Giga Drain or Sludge Bomb.
  • The 144 SAtk EVs is also why the speed investment is so important. Here are some calcs to show why:
144 SpA Mega Venusaur Giga Drain vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Rotom-W: 204-242 (67.3 - 79.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
144 SpA Mega Venusaur Sludge Bomb vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Azumarill: 312-368 (91.4 - 107.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock

Pretty impressive eh? (probably not)
  • I had 100 EVs left, so I threw them into defense to make that Azumarill wasn't gonna do anything to me.
The moves are pretty standard; Synthesis for Recovery, Giga Drain and Sludge Bomb for STAB and Earthquake was my 4th option to be able to hit Heatran hard.

0- Atk Mega Venusaur Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Heatran: 248-292 (64.2 - 75.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
2HKOing Heatran with a Venusaur is always nice and it also let me hit other Steel-types in the tier.

rotomw-jpg.10366

Rotom-Wash @ Choice Specs
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SAtk / 48 Spd / 208 HP
Modest Nature
- Trick
- Hydro Pump
- Volt Switch
- Hidden Power [Fire]

Everyone's favourite washing machine! When I got to building the team, I noticed I was very weak to Smogonbird Talonflame and Rotom is always gonna be #1 counter to it. I chose to go for Specs as it added immense special pressure to the team, which I really needed. Tricking something pesky like Ferrothorn or Chansey a Choice Specs is always gonna leave your opponents butthurt. Hydro Pump and Volt Switch are the main STABs that all Rotoms use, so nothing different there. Finally, HP Fire was my last slot as it hits Ferrothron and Scizor very hard which I needed more than than Will-O.

Sylveon.full.1426110.jpg

Sylveon @ Leftovers
Ability: Pixilate
EVs: 252 SDef / 248 HP / 4 SAtk / 4 Def
Calm Nature
- Hyper Voice
- Wish
- Protect
- Heal Bell

I really needed a special wall as well a Fairy-type so Sylveon was the obvious choice (and it's cute af!). Pixilate Hyper Voice is so good; being able to hit through Subs and hit hard. I went with the standard cleric set because it's honestly the best set you can use on it. I went with 4 SAtk and Def EVs because 8 in just one as it made no difference in damage outputs, where 4 in both made a slight difference, which you never know might come it handy. Also Cobalion + Sylveon is a really nice defensive core

everythingItouchdies.png

Garchomp @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 SAtk
Naughty Nature
- Earthquake
- Dragon Claw
- Stone Edge
- Fire Blast

The last slot took some thinking about; I wanted speed, power and an Electric immunity, so Garchomp fit the bill for me. I went for a +ve Attack Nature so that it could hit extra hard. Choice Scarf allows me to outspeed stuff like Thundurus and Lati@s and OHKO them with Stone Edge and Dragon Claw respectively. The 4th slot was Outrage initially, but then I thought Fire Blast would be more helpful as only had HP Fire as my Fire move.

The team has had some great success and will hopefully continue to do so as well. DeoSharp teams aren't going to die out for a while (unfortunately), so while they're around this team will do well (imo).

Just a suggestion, I would use a +speed nature on Scarfchomp so you can outspeed +1 Mega Zard X who can do a number on your team when Mega Venusaur is weakened.
