Moves
========
- Swords Dance for setup
- Roost for longevity and to ease set up
- Aerial Ace STAB base 90 attack with Technician boost
- Baton Pass to escape counters and allow teammate to sweep
- Knock off can be used to get past Doublade and weaken Gligar
Set Details
========
- Max speed to take advantage of wonderful speed tier. Outspeed Delphox,
- Eviolite for massively increased bulk offering ease of setup against many common threats such as Hitmonlee and Doublade
- 216 allows Scyther to switch into Stealth Rocks 3 times instead of 2.
- Rest is allotted to attack to maximize power.
Usage Tips
========
- Do not be afraid to set up when slower Scyther counters still exist on the opposing team, as you can baton pass to a teammate
- Do not underestimate Scyther's bulk. It can take incredibly strong SE attacks such as Life Orb Yanmega's air slash if neccesary, and proceed to attack or baton pass
- Be cautious of setting up on defensive mons, as Scyther is very susceptible to status. Burn inhibits sweeping abilities, paralysis ruins speed tier, toxic reduces longevity.
- Baton pass can be used early game to scout switches
- If you outspeed opposing mon, baton pass rather than switch out
- Scyther can be setup early, mid, or late game. If early, the +2 boost to a teammate can help dismantle the opposing team. Mid and late game it can begin a sweep.
Team Options
========
- Defog or Spin support is almost necessary. Hitmonlee is a great partner as it can spin against every spin blocker in the tier bar a healthy doublade.
- Gligar can offer defog support, and it can absorb rock attacks, though fast electric types carry coverage to beat it.
- Hitmontop can also spin well, and its added bulk compared to lee allows it to tank SE attacks launched at Scyther
- Stealth Rock support can help wear down fire and flying mons that give Scyther trouble while also easing Scyther's own sweeping capabilities.
